Photonovels and Movies / Goofy Photocomic Preview from Finds
« on: June 13, 2007, 02:01 PM »
Hi all!

I know I haven't had much to say in the Photonovel forum recently, but I'm hoping that will change real soon, as I'm preparing to launch a new and rather goofy series of photocomics within the next week or so chronicling the silly escapades of a nondescript Imperial bureaucrat.  Here is a preview pic for your viewing pleasure:

Enjoy!  More soon!

Modern Trading / Findswoman's Trade List!
« on: December 30, 2006, 02:21 PM »
Hi all,

Here is my new, UPDATED trade list, containing various figures and parts at both 3.75" and 12" scale.

Also included are a few choice non-action-figure items, such as a large quantity of Decipher SW:CCG cards and an un-played-with SW Miniatures starter set.

Please note that most of the figures and figure parts on this list are geared toward customizers: most of the figures are loose and/or missing some parts, and there are a number of assorted bits, pieces, body parts, etc.

Please PM me if you're interested in anything here.

Thanks!

I know I haven't been posting much, mainly due to school and 1:1 life in general.  But I've thankfully been able to get in some 12" customizing time this fall, and just wanted to share with you a few preliminary shots of my latest two 12" figures.  They're both done, but I haven't yet posted them on my site, and I still have to take more (and better) pictures of them both.

First up, a 12" rendition of Diva Shaliqua, the blue-haired slave girl seen in Jabba's box in Ep. I.  I used a 12" Slave Leia body (& bikini) and the head from Alagua, the first in BBI's line of 1:6 Goth figures.  (I promise it looks more blue than this in real life.)  Naturally, the hair's been restyled and the makeup repainted.  The pants are handmade.

Secondly, a 12" rendition of my fanfictional Gand Findsman of ages past, Trynfor the Mad.  Almost too many disparate parts to name.  The head, harness, and breathing gear are of course from the Hasbro 12" Zuckuss, and the body is a Hasbro G. I. Joe body, which gives him lots of articulation and makes him taller than Zuckuss.  The clothing is from various Hasbro and non-Hasbro sources; I wish I could take credit for sewing his coat, but it's from this figure..

More to come soon when they're properly posted on my site.  In the meantime, hope you all enjoy!  :)

Feedback / PenDragon's feedback

Pendragon (Tom) is a WAY EXCELLENT trader, and I enthusiastically recommend him to all!  Not only have I had a number of wonderfully smooth trades with him, but he recently sent me an emergency part I needed just out of the goodness of his heart.  I definitely owe him some major customizing karma & kudos.

Thanks again Tom -- you're A1!  :)

Since so many customizers here have their own threads for posting their new custom figures, I thought I'd do the same -- if the mods and such approve, that is.

And for my first post on this thread, I offer a simple but (hopefully) satisfying custom that I've had planned for some time yet only recently acquired the parts for (thanks to Pendragon!).  This is Baron Fel, sometime Imperial TIE fighter ace and eventual defector to the Rebellion, in TIE pilot's attire.  The body and helmet are from the Saga TIE Pilot, and the head and neck -- which took some dremeling to attach properly -- are from ROTS Bail Organa.

I'm still working on my helmet hollowing technique, but this one fits reasonably well, and has only 3 holes instead of 4!  :D  Note also that I have two chest boxes for this figure: one with tubes, for when he wears the helmet, and one without tubes, for when he doesn't.

And now, without further ado...

First of all, a disclaimer. I can't take any credit at all for the concept of a clone trooper in formal attire.  This idea, concept, & most of the recipe, is shamelessly ripped off of Tonphanan from the FFURG FForums, whose ceremonial attire clone trooper can be seen here.  I so adored his custom that I just HAD to try it myself.  In fact, in the next few months or so, I plan to include said formal-dress clones in a small but hopefully funny photocomic project, of which what follows is a preview of sorts.

So, having said that, I am honored to present to you Delta Squad, from the game Republic Commando, dressed and ready for the Clone Troopers' Ball!

All are repainted Bail Organa bodies with various Clone heads and headcasts.  (One's the AT-TE tank gunner, and doggone it, I've forgotten the other one...)  The sashes are pieces of 1/4" ribbon, held on with that sticky-tack stuff that usually hangs posters.  (That will allow me to change the colored sashes so that the same four figures can represent various other clones in different shots.)

Comments, compliments, and constructive criticisms always appreciated!  Enjoy! :)

Star Wars Action Figures / Princess Leia (Movie Poster)
« on: March 6, 2006, 01:43 AM »
My first custom since oral exams!  I have just finished (well, for now) my Movie Poster Leia custom, which I'd been planning for a while but never got around to finishing till now.  You can see her right here.  (Just by way of warning: It's Geocities, so don't be surprised if it balks when more than five people try to view the page!  If it gets really really bad, I'll post pictures here, too.)

I have definitely taken some artistic license with this one, which people may or may not like.   For one thing, I left the necklace on from the POTF2 Ceremonial Leia, rather than sanding it off. It's just that sanding it off always seems to make the neck end up really rough and ugly, and besides, I don't think the necklace is out of character for this outfit at all.  (It is, after all, an Organa heirloom.)  For another thing, her pose is far from looking exactly like the poster.  I at least hope to have acheived something similar, if not identical.

In any case, here she is, and I hope you all enjoy!  Do let me know what you think.

Cheers,

I recently had my first ever trade with bocrebjedi (Phil), and it went great.  Phil was extra speedy about sending out my items even though I was slow, and he was very patient and a great communicator, too.  Highly recommended to all!

Thanks again, Phil, and I hope we can do this again sometime!

Cheers,

« on: January 9, 2006, 01:20 AM »
Hello all,

I am proud to announce the first update to the Findswoman Collection in some 5 months!  After putting in a burst of customizing this past week, I have just finished and posted five all-new 3.75" customs:

King Ebareebaveebeedee of the Squib

Padmé Amidala in her lavender nightgown from ROTS

A second version of Telfien, my fanfic Gand Findswoman

A modern-day Blue Snaggletooth, sort of

Padmé's Ghost

Do let me know what you think -- any and all comments, compliments, criticisms, etc. are greatly appreciated.   Enjoy, and happy customizing to all!  :)
