I picked up the last walker at my TRU.It looks great!
I think it looks about as bad as it possibly could. Hasbro insists on using the same mold they used when I bought the thing in
1980. If they were still making figures the way they made them in 1980, would you buy them?
It's time for Hasbro to just admit that 26 years later, we've made some advances. How many times did they issue us that stupid ill-scaled TIE fighter with that classic "bowling ball attached to 2 Flinstone's wheels" look? From 1977 to 2004.
Figures have come a long way in that time span, the vehicles should have as well.
To me, the AT-AT looks downright stupid. The head is too big. The body is too small. The snowspeeder and TIE fighter are now 1/2 the size of the AT-AT. The snowspeeder looks positively ridiculous next to the AT-AT. The small die cast action fleet snowspeeder next to Hasbro's AT-AT is the correct scale.
Sometimes I think I'm too critical of detail as a by-product of my professional work, that's just how I've been trained. But this vehicle is just
grossly out of whack. It looks awful.
They are piling up in my TRU to boot, doesn't look like they have sold one yet.
We got that TIE fighter about 5 or 6 times before Hasbro finally admitted that the wings were grossly the wrong scale, and now they fixed it. The previous 6 versions? They're fit for the trash now.
I just wish they'd stop giving is the same old vehicle bull**** from when Reagan was in office, admit the scale sucks like they did with the TIE (and X-Wing i guess), and correct it. Just fix it.
