My wife got me the SP Aragorn and Frodo as part of my Christmas present, so I've finally got versions of both of those characters now.  I'm on the look out for the Gates of Mordor Sam, if he shows locally or via Amazon, and I think I'll be set.  I'd like to go further into this line, but could be happy with those figures as my little display.  Plus, I figure if I do collect anything beyond Star Wars...its between LOTR and Marvel Legends, and Legends might have a little more of an extended future.  We'll see though.  Nice to get a couple more members of the fellowship on the shelf now.

Gates of Mordor Sam
Theodred
Orc Captain

Found Sam and Theodred for you Scott, naturally after I sent the box out ::)  Still have yet to see the Orc Captain.  Quite a surprise since I've found two Peter Jackson figures at this point.  Will let you know when I find the Orc dude.

Damn, you found TWO Peter Jacksons?
Wow.

I just scored a bunch of LOTR figures for pretty reasonable ($8 each) on ebay. I got Theodred, Shagrat, Prologue Smeagol, Denethor, and Gorbag.

Still need:
Gamling
Hama
Isengard Orc
Gates of Mordor Sam
Peter Jackson Hobbit
Bilbo Transfixed
Citadel Guard
Gil-Galad
Orc Captain
Attack Troll

And I just scored an Orc Captain here:
Krypton Collectibles

It was $11 plus $5 for shipping, but at least I don't have to worry about finding it anymore.

I've got Gamling out the Ying-yang.  Isengard Orc is still around; Gates of Mordor Sam is not too hard; Bilbo transfixed is pretty easy; Citadel Guard - have two in my trunk to return to TRU; DID return a Gil-Galad to TRU but forget the last two.

As far as the Peter Jackson figure, well, he's one per case, or so it seems thus far up here.  I have missed more than one for sure, but otherwise no big.

I'm still sitting around $9-9.50 a fig though do to high TRU prices and crappy exchange rate.  New stuff is mostly only showing there.  Once it shows at Walmart I can do it for around that $8 mark.

I believe the TRU staffers took the Orc Captain's for their own collections.

From what I've seen, the Orc Captain really doesn't look like too great of an army builder.
He looks pretty distinctive, to me, anyway.

I've given up hope on finding the Attack Troll for less than $50 on ebay. Screw it, the trolls are a lame part of the LOTR saga anyway. The only notable ones turned into stone.

I found a Gate of Mordor Sam at BBTS, so I'm good on that one.

I'm off this week, so I'm going to do some hardcore hunting, weather permitting.
But, this time next week, if you'd be so gracious as to pick up what you can, I'd gladly fork over the cash. Did you get those Vaders? And did they arrive alright? I was kind of worried about the size of the box I sent them in.

:-[  I posted feedback, but neglected to tell you directly.  Sorry about that.  They arrived just fine.

Will do on the LOTR stuff for ya.

Brent.  Found Sam at TRU so you can return him unless someone else wants him.  Great figure :)

Just read over at the Green Dragon, that the apparent "die cast" rumors that accompanied some of the 2005 figure lists have now officially been denied by Toy Biz.  Those assortments listed are normal figures, not die cast.  Just for reference, this is in regards to these waves:

Fellowship of the Ring Wave 5 (Apr/May 2005):
Weather Top Strider
Talking Flaming Ringwraith
Boromir with Sound
Council Legolas
Dark Galadriel

The Two Towers Wave 5 (Apr/May 2005):
Aged/Posessed King Theoden
Battle Cry Uruk-Hai
Sword Attack Aragorn
Talking Balrog-Battle Gandalf

Return of the King Wave 5 (Apr/May 2005):
Legolas
Eye of Sauron
Gothmog
Mount Doom Frodo
Mount Doom Sam

Return of the King Wave 1 (Jun/Jul 2005):
Aragorn
Frodo with Book
Gandalf in Robes
Gondorian Archer
Legolas
Mordor Orc
Witch King
Eowyn

They also mention that they are hearing rumors that this last assortment (ROTK Wave 1) is being called "Epic Trilogy" or something along those lines.  More details at theGD.com.

The Orc Captain is up for pre-order at amazon.com with a shipping date of 01/15 for those that might find this option the best way to go:

Orc Captain

They also have some other ones from this series also.

Peter Jackson was in stock at Amazon for three whole minutes a few hours ago, and no, I didn't get one.

I'm curious if the other junk I preordered is on its way, or if they're just going to squander it now and screw us yet again, ala the Dark Phoenix Debacle.

I see theGD.com has a pic up of the upcoming "Balrog Battle" Gandalf, along with a Frodo, Aragorn, and Legolas.  They also report that (part of) FOTR Series 4 is in stock at TRU, I think the SP Boromir, Mirkwood Legolas, and Gandalf the Grey are the only ones in stock right now.
