Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 2006 DVD Releases Thread
« on: December 13, 2006, 11:24 PM »
Having missed a bunch of movies this summer/fall (gee, I wonder why?  :P), I've been buying a bunch of DVDs lately -

- Superman Returns
- Richard Donner Superman II
- Cars
- Pirates 2
- Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
- Alias Season 5

But, of course, we haven't had time to watch any of them yet.   ::)

Good call...  ;)

Back to just needing that 1 chase Fett (double red gauntlets) to be complete.   ;D

have they done a Qui-gon Kubrick?

No Qui-Gon.  The only prequel figure they have done was the chase Blue Senate Guard from Series 7.

I've never seen these before.I 'm mean I know what they are,but I've never seen them in stores. I've only seen them on the net.How do get them?

The reason you probably haven't seen them is that they are a Japanese product and not sold directly to US accounts, meaning that any US seller has to buy them via a secondary seller in Japan.

Some folks do have a local hobby shop that carry them, but they are few and far between.  The majority of folks buy on-line - eBay, BigBadToyStore, HLJ.com, Ningyoushi.com, the JD Classifieds, etc.

All this and at what cost will it be to us?

I checked the Target DPCI over lunch and it still shows up in the system at $6.99 (at least in MN).

Of course, keep in mind that Target has been known to start new series out high...

2004 - OTC started at $5.99, but dropped to $5.44 within a month
2005 - ROTS started at $5.99, but dropped down to $4.99 within a few weeks
2006 - TSC started at $6.99, but dropped down to $5.89 within a month or so (and then went back up to $6.64 a few months later  ::))

Target will always come down after a bit to match Wal-Mart (once they are sure the Wal-Mart price is not a promo/gimmick), but they almost never start out as the lowest.  Hopefully Wal-Mart will start off closer to $6 so Target is forced to price drop sooner rather than later.

What can I say that hasn't already been said?

Thanks once again to Simon for helping fill two more holes in my Kubrick Collection!

One of the best and that's for sure!   :)

Saga Collection '06 / Re: The "Final 22"
« on: December 13, 2006, 12:29 AM »
Everything I've heard says that it's the same DPCI at Target for those 17 figures (obviously not the Wal-Mart exclusive ones  :P), but the figures were not entered into the system correctly and that is why they do not ring up correctly...  of course info is always subject to change, but for now I think it's a computer glitch and not a new DPCI (at least at Target).

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: December 13, 2006, 12:25 AM »
But riddle me this everyone...Has anyone come up with the Face Off 2 Iron Man/Mandarin variant set yet?  The reason I ask is that some people I know were speculating that the variant set was actually James Rhodes in War Machine armor and not Stark in some other Iron Man armor.

From a thread at Fwooshnet:

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica...who's watching?
« on: December 12, 2006, 10:45 AM »
What other similarities did your friend notice between characters and their purposes?

Uhhh.... honestly?  it was one of those times when your pal is talking and talking and you're just listening, but you're not really listening.

The "Battlestar GaLOSTica" comment I thought was funny, so it stuck... the rest of the junk he was saying?  In one ear and out the other.   :-[

I seem to recall something about how Jack was like Adama with all the father issues and stufff... or something.   :-\
