Feedback / Re: Paul's (pka pmundheim) feedback

I can throw some feedback in here too - Paul's helped me out at least a dozen times in the last year or two with various items.  A stand up guy for sure.

Wow - thanks for doing all this for me gentlemen... a year old Feedback thread and I didn't realize (or remember at least) that it existed.

I probably need to bounce around in here and find your threads too.

I had my first cleaning in 3.5 years on Monday (spent some time uninsured after college).  No cavities (I've never had one) and nothing wrong at all.  I was quite relieved, I expected a lecture and an unusually painful scraping, but got neither.  I'm back on the grid, my next appointment is already made.

I think I've had a grand total of one McDonald's hamburger in my entire life.

I guess I've always been a McNugget man myself.

I've never had the shake either - didn't know it existed until I saw this thread... I generally only get McDonalds 2 or 3 times a year, and only when I'm traveling.

I might go find myself one of these this weekend.

That helmetless Vader kills me... I passed that thing in stores at least 5 times saying to myself 'hell, I've already got a vader... who needs another one' - now it's the only one I don't have and it drives me nuts.

I ordered everything except for Gammorean Guard, Tarkin, and X-Wing Luke.  But I'm going to re-tool my order when I find out exactly what they do or do not have.

Well I just spoke with Ken again - he says that they did have to pull everything from their website, but that was because after I talked about it here they got 15 or 16 orders all at once that they can't fill.

He said that when he spoke to the warehouse yesterday, he was told that they think they can fill 60 to 70% of my order.  I'm sure that if there's anything left it won't be the Vader, Yoda, Boba Fett, or Biker Scouts... but at least this saga is interesting still.

Most of me still expects to be told that the entire order has to be canceled - but we'll see.

Check your ad to make sure they're running it in your area before you do.  I'd hate to cause people to stop at their stores and not have any luck.

As well they should.  I think they were reluctant to cancel mine right away for hopes that they could call up the distributors and just order more.  It's pretty clear that Star Wars is a small bit of their overall business and they don't really know too much about the GG products.

Well aren't I the jackass... I didn't even notice the quantity instock # right there.

Although it's a little irresponsible of them to leave that crap on their website when there is a zero percent chance that they'll ever get them in again.  And I think it's pretty dumb that my order was allowed to go through when nothing is in stock.

Oh well - as noted many times, seemed way too good to be true and I didn't expect it to actually happen.

I have an hour drive..one way.

No traffic at all, but it's still a waste of time, gas and money.

I think it's time I found a new job even though I like my current one.

How rooted are you in your community?

I'd personally probably rather move if I liked my job - but of course there are all kinds of circumstances that factor into something like that...

That's what I expect to happen, although the guy insisted that he couldn't tell what was in the warehouse from his store.

So I'm going to hang onto a slim possibility until I hear from the warehouse - but like I keep saying, my expectation is that I'll be canceling my massive order once they get back to me tomorrow.

I actually witnessed a fatal event the day I was leaving for Toy Fair... before I left work.

They are putting a new light rail line in that will run out of downtown, past my home, past my work and then into the suburbs.  Construction started back in September.  Two Friday's ago, some sort of concrete deck thing collapsed on two workers, burying them.  This was 30 feet from my desk out the window (the train is literally going to run next to my office).  They dug and dug and pulled one guy out.  He was okay except for his leg looked messed up.  Then they went back to work and dug for 45 minutes, using heavy machinery to lift disturbingly large pieces of concrete out of the hole.  They even had a firefighter down there with a giant circular saw cutting things at one point.

We were all just standing there waiting for that triumphant moment when they rescued this other guy - but it didn't come.  An hour after the hole thing started they pulled a body out of the hole.

It was real sad... all the construction workers were just standing there crying...

Here's an article from the next day:

Severe wind warnings in Dallas today - we're having a bit of a dust storm it seems.  It looks like Afghanistan outside.

Pics?

Kevin

Sorry, didn't take any... just imagine an average day, but really windy - but dark out, because the sun (despite no clouds in the sky) is obscured by what looks like fog, but is the color of dust.  Also, everything was desaturated color-wise... everything seemed flat, brownish/gray, and lifeless.

It was really weird.

Also, you could taste the dirt in the air, which was kinda gross I guess.
