Lord have mercy thats quite the high price! That's something like a $70 box... Makes the MTT look like a steal haha!

That thing went North...wow.  I've been getting tons of emailed coupons from TRU lately and I'm sure that will continue through the holiday season, but would likely still a bit too expensive to buy just for the damn box.

Something tells me this will play out like the MTT.  Ridiculously over-priced by TRU at $180, but then we find out there's a $50 coupon coming (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2012/10/20/tru-mtt-price-hike-hijinks/) that will magically put it back at the regular retail price.  I would not be surprised if the reason the Falcon is $250 is so that they can have a similar "amazing" deal on it at some point in the holiday shopping season.   ::)

Well, if it's anything like the Death Star Trench set, I believe they sold it for $50 on Black Friday... that's probably what might happen in a month.

Edit: if things get more expensive, I might have to earn some extra cash at the sperm bank.

I really am starting to hate TRU.  I find stuff like this to be, at the very least, misleading...  It makes me glad I don't generally shop at TRU without a good sale going on.

I'm glad I'm not a die-hard for boxes too.  Ultimately I'd rather have a real Vintage SW Boxed Falcon than a remake of it.  the modern ones are ok but only for cheap (like the B-Wing).  Short of a major improvement to the toy, or a fair price, piss on it.

Wow. I'm scared about what they're going to price the At-At at.

That is just nuts.  There could be a sale/coupon on the way (and likely is), but still - even $200 is too much, yoinks.  I already have one as well (one of my favorite items of the entire line I think, if not the top one), but honestly, I was half way tempted by the packaging (and this is from someone who opens nearly everything).  Overall I probably couldn't afford it even if it was the same price as before, but at this price I can't even consider it.

That kind of pricing is pretty ridiculous.  If you already have the Falcon and you do this, you're paying $250.  FOR A BOX.

If MOMC/MIMB collectors bite at this, I will be utterly amazed.

Before I heard of this reissue, I was considering dropping nearly $300 on one of these in the old box, but I figured I'd wait. I expected $200. But with shipping and finally getting this thing, I may just go ahead and get one at $250. Think I'll wait until my store gets it in, though, to see if I can get a nice box.

Plus, I preordered that MOTUC Castle Grayskull at this price, so sticker shock is whatever now.

I've still never even opened my Legacy BMF, but heard it's a wonderful toy! Are there any tweaks to the new one or just a straight re-release?

Wow. I'm scared about what they're going to price the At-At at.

I wonder if TRU will up the price on the existing AT-ATs that are currently gathering dust? It would be funny to see the Hoth ATAT at one price and the Endor one for $100 more.

Well, those black boots on the Endor AT-AT Driver are the PERFECT reason to plunk down a lot more cash for that version of the AT-AT, silly!

Stopped by TRU today and they were getting a couple of these out to put on the shelves.  The price (and the fact that I already own one) will keep me away, but I will say that it sure did look pretty.  If I had the funds and space, I might consider picking up a second.

I missed the black boots until now. Makes sense, who wears white boots on a forest planet.

*looks at scout troopers*

I mean, besides them.

So how come the Hoth At-St driver didn't have white boots?

Is the speedy bike actually brown in this release?

*Yes, I wrote speedy bike*

Confirmed, my TRU has the BMF for $250. It's on a high shelf so us mere mortals can worship it from afar.

Post by: Pete_Fett on November 5, 2012, 11:22 AM
My TRU has two of them.

Unfortunately they put those wire-wrap security things around them which have now damaged the boxes - which is the only reason I'd even buy one of these.

I have spoken with one of the managers there a couple times and I showed him what the security device had done and asked him if one could be kept aside for me the next time they get one in and he said he would.

If I can't get this in a good-shape box, there's no point in making the purchase.

How would someone steal a box this size?  Morons.

My Legacy Falcon has one of those security electronic tags on it, but was not in those dreadful wires.

Pretty sure they're easy enough to steal if you're willing to walk/run out the door without paying...

My TRU has x2 yellow shirts guarding the door for the season.

If I enter/exit TRU holding my cell phone or my keys, the door alarm goes off. The employees don't even turn to see what's going on. So I doubt they'd care. :P

Well, there was the recent shoplifting spree where two people were emptying contents of cheap items and putting more expensive ones inside, then buying the "cheap item".  They eventually got caught in part because they used a rewards card, IIRC.

Bought one of these bad boys today. Had a 15% off coupon which made the price what I expected to pay, so I couldn't pass it up.

Now, to find a place to put it. It's still in my trunk since the box is so huge.

You know, our store had a couple of these a week and a half ago or so (just stocked on the floor with a sign), and both are now gone.  I'm a little surprised they are selling at that price, although the toy is amazing and that box sure is pretty.  Plus, if I had missed out on the earlier release, I'd sure be figuring out a way to get the money to pick one up now...probably my favorite toy of the line, or at least towards the top.  I still haven't figured out a nice way to display it though, almost thinking about trying to build something custom for it so you could really see it well.

I finally saw this thing this past week at TRU too...it's so huge they just left it sitting in the middle of the aisle. No shelf space available. I've seen it migrate around a few times but last time I checked it was still there. Curious to see if it survives Black Friday...

That's about $30 more than the 2010 online-only re-release, so not too bad.

I personally don't have any interest in the TVC packaged Millenium Falcon, but it's now being offered on TRU.com for $125 (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=16400996).  You can get it shipped or do a store pickup (which depends on local availability).

That was fast!  I bought the MTT at that sale price late last night. Maybe this was TRU's version of an Amazon lightning deal?

I got one at that half-price deal.  I saw JTA's post on facebook so I went and bought another BMF because TRU.com doesn't do any price adjustments.  So I'll have to take the least 2 minty boxes back to a B&M store when I get to the parents house

Nope, flash deal.

The Falcon is on sale for $129.99 until the end of the hour (3/2CST)

Weird.  I just checked my email, saw a TRU email, clicked on the flash deals and it said the Falcon was on sale for another 36 minutes.  Just went back and checked the Falcon page, no sale, went back to flash deals and it wasn't there anymore.  ???  I guess that was a flash deal.

Still $249 for me.  I'm pretty sure that the price goes down and then it's programmed to reset as soon as I go to the page.  So every time I go to check, I'm resetting the price.  Sorry guys!   :P

I wonder if this link for flash deals continually works or if it'll need updating:

Just in case people stumble upon the Falcon (or anything else of interest) later.

Seriously, WTF with the Falcon pricing!?  How many different prices have we seen this thing at now?  $250, $225, $199, $125...all within what, three weeks?  I was going to skip this thing due to sheer size and the fact that I already have the older one.  Then when I started hearing about discounts, I was intrigued and probably would have bought it for $150 or less.  Now I'm just frustrated at TRU for their dartboard pricing tactics and am ready to skip it all together.  I get trying to make as much profit as possible, but just settle on a price already.  Right now, anything over $125 feels like I'm getting ripped off.

The $125 was part of the Flash Deal.  I get the feeling that they weren't flying out of the stores at over $200, so they're marking them down to clear them out.

Thanks Steve.  Got mine ordered late tonight.  Would have ordered it about an hour ago if not for the craptastic TRU online ordering system.  I signed up for their credit card to get the additional 10% off ANY ORDER, but of course the code does not work with this item.  Neither does my Groupon for $20....******* unreal.  I went ahead and bought it anyway and will look to call in for a price adjustment tomorrow.  Great price, but a royal pain in the ass.

Same boat... I don't have a spot for one, but I've wanted one for years.  They're $274.99 at the TRU near me... that's obscene.
