Title: Luke - Jedi Duel
Post by: Darth Broem on July 7, 2003, 12:45 PM
I looked at www.galactichunter.com  They have a preview of the new Luke figure.  I knew this would have action features etc.  But  I did not know that Luke's head would be in a permanent bent over position.  Kind of like when the barber tells you to lean your head forward in the chair.

I may still get the figure but it really will only look good in one position and that's it!!!

You've got to love Hasbro and their addiction to "action" features.   :P

That's Jedi Luke? I thought it was Solomon Grundy...

Remeber how PO'd everyone was when they canned the Cinema Scenes.  I think Hasbro took that as a sign that people wanted actual cinematic representations of moments in cinematic time and not that we wanted the hard core background characters.

I'll be getting this in the Wave 15 Case but not cuase I want to...what might have been will bein 2004 though ;)

He's cool but the face looks a little too animated for my liking. Still a nice addition to the collection.

Vader on the other hand...

I got to see this guy at Hasbro in March and thought it was cool then... Now that I own it on the otherhand...

Very 1/2... attempt on Hasbro's part.

He has the lame flowing cape from the Bespin Vader which I can not stand. His belt buckle is on backwards... I mean Hasbro how many Vaders have you done now and you can't remember which way it goes....

His hand is NOT removable... Uhhh... Yeah....
And as with 99% of the action features this one s*cks!

A huge let down on Vader... and one of my favorite evil men of all time.  :(

Is this the same Vader that's in the Wave 17 case as well or is that the MOTDS reissue?

I get the feeling that the Throne Room Duel Luke & Vader are the "mystery" figures we've been speculating about.  With SAGA being consolidated into one collection, it seems likely that the Luke & Vader in that wave 17 case are probably those self-same throne room duel figures.

The reason I ask is because in Wave 17 the figures are listed simply as  "(1) Luke Skywalker, (1)Darth Vader..." whereas in Wave 15 they're listed as "(2) Luke Skywalker, (2) Darth Vadar [sic] Final[/color]..." This leads me to believe that, at the very least, the Vader figures are different. Since the Luke figures were announced concurrently, I thought perhaps they might be different as well.

In any case, I've ordered both waves from NewForce and was just wondering what to expect.

Yeah, it's not too bad really.  I will get it.  Like I could actually let it sit on the pegs if I found one.  It's just a bit goofy but I have to remind myself these are not works of art.  I was just a bit surprised about the bent over head.

I've noticed stuff like that, too.  And in some cases, the "descriptions" following the names vary on character that only have one figure in the line.  I think it may depend on who actually lists the stuff on a given site, or it might be a screwup on a list from Hasbro.

Frankly, I urinate on the name of whoever crafted these two figures.

The Vader's actually decent.  The Luke is a tougher sell, though.

I have this Luke figure and I must say it has some great sculpting. The face has such anger, Luke really has turned to the Dark Side. As for the action feature he bashed Vader with his green stick.  ;D
I like this figure. The only problem is that the black glove in on the wring hand.

I haven't actually seen these in stores yet, but the Vader looks pretty good.  The Luke could use a little bit of help though.
