Title: 30AC "Jedi vs. Sith" Battle Pack
Post by: Jeff on March 20, 2007, 11:24 AM
Star Wars Jedi vs. Sith Action Figure Battle Pack (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/aff-home.asp?id=JE-405087801&number=HS87552)

"Relive the movies with your favorite figures! The Star Wars Jedi vs. Sith Action Figure Battle Pack includes 5 unique 3 3/4-inch Star Wars Action Figures and accessories from the films! More details coming soon. "

Huh?   ???

I wonder if it's just a repackaging of the old RotS Jedi Vs. Sith Battle Pack?

Probably. Anything BP has Jedi or sith on it means it'll be boring.

Again, I hope it's something semi-new - probably something I'll pass on either way, but I would hate to see Hasbro start to re-hash BP ideas just to keep products flowing on the shelves - they can't even sell the new BP ideas from the end of last year, let along re-packaging version of one of the originals...

Will be interesting to see what these bring.

Well, considering what's currently on shelves (or what will be in the Saga Legends collection at around the same time these will probably hit), this is what the set should include, IMO, to make it worth a crap:

-ROTS Pilot Obi-Wan repainted in AOTC colors with new head
-ROTS Evolutions ROTS Anakin Skywalker with Sith Eyes
-ROTJ Evolutions Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious with new head
-ROTS-era Asaaj Ventress (from first Jedi vs. Sith Battle Pack)
-Saga 2003 Coleman Trebor (complete with base) OR Post-OTC 2005 Pablo Jill

Do they fit together in a scene?  Are they logically placed?  Nope.  But it's better than this, which is what we'll likely end up getting:

-ROTS Mace Windu (again)
-ROTS Emperor Palpatine (again)
-TPM Darth Maul (Jedi Duel)
-ROTS Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Kick)
-ROTS Anakin Skywalker (Mustafar)

What I want:  ;D

30AC SA Mace Windu
30AC Sa Obi-Wan Kenobi (from the upcoming comic pack)
Evolutions ROTS Anakin Skywalker with alternate Sith eyes/non-Sith eyes heads (both included of course)
Evolutions Darth Maul
Evolutions Emperor Palpatine

What we'll get:

ROTS Mace Windu
ROTS Yoda
ROTS Obi Wan (Red Leader Pilot)
ROTS Darth Vader
Cantina Han  :P
...and some cool SA Evo VOTC rehash or whatever thatll make suckers like me spend 20 bucks on the set and regret it upon opening...  :(  :-\

I may pick it up for Asajj since I passed on it in 2005 but otherwise I'm not enthusiastic about this set at all.

Passed the first time, pass on the seconds even with cooler packaging.

Nice a Yoda we don't need, a blue-lipped alleged Anakin with poor likeness, a Grievous who is an inch too short and just barely acceptable versions of Assaj and Obi Wan.

Not exactly VOTC/VTSC quality.

No ****? :)

Seriously though I'm gonna be nabbing one perhaps for customizing bits and give the extra things to my gf's son...  Nothing in that set is particularly nice though, at all...  Just unique parts.  He'll dig the Assajj figure though I think.  Crummy set the first time though, worse the second time, only desirable the first time because it wasn't easy for everyone to find, at the time.

Cool. I already got one (the older version that is.)

Ditto.  Easy pass on this one.  Hasbro has to really have tweaked the packaging in order for me to rebuy this and the other repack sets.

I have the first version, good enough for me.

I stand alone in saying...I'll take two!

The packaging has actually won me over believe it or not, I like it! And the figures inide are cool for he most part! Asajj is excellent, Anakin is pretty good, Obi, well he's not bad, Yoda and Grievous suck, and I missed out on this set before. So, one to open, one to keep MIP.

I think this is actually a case of Hasbro making a good re-release.  I didn't see this set warming shelves at all.  It sold pretty well, regardless of what anyone thinks of the figures inside.  If it gives people a chance to get this set, then that's cool.  We're in what is supposed to be a quiet year for the line, and if I can skip things like this that I've already got then that's all the better.  Maybe I'll pick up another set to work on making a better clone armor Obi-Wan.

I got hold of one of these finally, and the set is not bad overall.

This is my favorite Asajj--IMO she looks much better in terms of sculpt and paint, and while she is a "statue" figure, the sideways swish of the skirt is better for a motion pose than the CW figure which just has random flaps in all directions.

Anakin is good except for the head--I need to find another EpII Anakin to swap heads with.

Obi is decent, although I really want a proper version of this figure on a separate card release.

Grievous and Yoda are ... well, they are what they are. Main character repack filler.

I have never seen a comparison shot of these until now. Too bad because I could have picked up one of her loose and by-passed picking up an opener of this set.

Just saw this set and the Jedi vs Sidious 30AC set at KB tonight. The Asaaj is definitely a nice figure, maybe if she's in the new toon Hasbro will look at this design for a starting point for a new figure.
