So... (and I hope this hasn't been addressed yet)...how are the tins themselves as.. well... tins?

I got to see some of these recently... I'm mixed.
The warping really pisses me off... I loathe plastic minis, plastic pre-painted are even worse, but the way some of the ships turned out just looks horrible and I've heard that straightening them isn't terribly simple either (IE: heating them up isn't always working, they're just really shoddy quality).
The bigger ships sound like there's some real nice ones. Plus the sculpts are of ships never seen before sometimes... I'm thinking I may collect just some pieces from the game but not the whole game.
That coupled with some really negative reviews of the gameplay are kind of stealing the wind from my sails here... The SW Minis line has a lot of ups and downs it seems. I may go back to just putting this whole game on hold and later picking up what I want in some bulk and ignoring the rest of it.

They have this new policy that they won't take ANYTHING back without a receipt or gift receipt...
it's totally the suck!
Did you buy it with a credit card? Maybe TRU can look up the purchase that way. They do at Target.
I dont want to see the same characters released in different clothing for a long time, a long time.
This is a great 12"....one word......STUFF!!!!!
Yes, lots of stuff! I really like these 12"'ers like the 100th Luke, Ultimate Jango, ROTS Vader/Anakin. Accessories kick butt. The Luke was pretty hard to find, and I never saw one until I happened to spot one up on a shelf in an EB in the local mall, ran right over and snagged it! I think it might have even been clearanced or mistkingly put on sale!
Was able to snag a copy today from Wal-Mart.
Thanks, then I don't need this one.
Quote"We chose a contemporary styling to the logo for a fresh look at the brand, and created a distressed architecture to celebrate its long heritage," says Pilot partner Chris Ford. "It was important to deliver an ownable shape to the action figure packaging in particular." adds Concannon.
Apparently they put a lot of thought in, yet didn't notice that it's just generally wobbly looking. Of course, maybe this guy's just going over my head. After all, I don't know what "ownable" even means.
Well if ownable means collectible, they clearly don't get it and aren't collectors themselves. Presumably they want people to want to collect these on cards. Again the point about too many corners. Also look at the VOTC/VTSC, those are ownable - classic, clean and even without the included star case would be easy to maintain in MOMC condition. Not getting it.
Chris Ford sounds like a dime-a-dozen MBA. What the hell does it mean to "create[ ] a distressed architecture to celebrate its long heritage"?
Huh?
First, what does "distressed architecture" mean, and second, what does it have to do with anything's "long heritage"?
Chris Ford is a douche, but I personally don't care about the packaging because I'm an opener.
Amazon has preorders for Starship Battles Starter set at $26.37, Boosterpacks at $13.59. January 22 shipping date.
;DTHAT"S the best sculpt of Qui-Gon I've ever seen. Now I'm debating on opening it the box is even cool. That's OK I'm still debating on opening my Obi-Wan as well.Of Course I like the Japanese version(Qui-Gon & Queen Amidala)too, but SS is so much better!
nope, its gonna be Aurra Sing. and grevious is dead. unless you count N-K Necrosis
If she does the theme song, I'll slit my wrists. I wanted to impale myself after hearing that god awful theme song she did for that Bond film... I don't think I could take her massacring a Star Wars theme.
