Hi all,

I'm a carded collector and have been since the Vintage era.  However, the coin album coupled with IKEA doing a fantastic glass display case for just £35 has got me thinking that I should make my 30AC loose.

I need convincing.  Anyone fancy giving it a go?

Cheers,

Nick

Ah that's right Nick, I forgot...  Cool beans on the folder, is it sturdy?

I'm actually really kind of looking forward (and dreading) the coins this year.  The folder really improves my opinion on them as pack-ins though.  Without that they'd be as useless to me as the holographic minis.

Now had those minis been almost like little accessories (mini holo Sidious for Clone wrist com's, little holo Jedi for "communications", little more detailed holo Leia, etc., etc.) I'd have dug them, but they ultimately blow for anything other than a chess set. :(

The folder is the real deal.  It's sturdy and the art work is really nice.

It has a section at the back for an additional 20 coins.

Where'd you get yours Nick?  Just out of curiosity.

I live in the UK and ordered mine through R2Dtoys.

I've had all of wave 1 delivered now and waves 2,3 and 4 are on order as well.

Just curious if anyone knows if this vader is truly packaged like wave 1.  What I mean by that is does it have the peg holder and if unpackaged from the "album" could it just appear as another figure.  The reason I'm asking is that I hang all the figures on the wall with a push pin where the peg hangs.  If this figure cannot be hung that way, I have no reason to get it.  From the pictures it looks like the packaging is a little different (although in the same style), just not exactly the same.  Anyone have it yet to verify?  thanks in advance

Unfortunately, this isn't to be released until January, so you're a little ahead of the game.  EE's description is fairly vague, but the pic makes it appear that the Vader card is removeable from the album.  It's just a guess though.

The Vader card is removable from the the album.  I've had mine for a week or so now.

Anyone who doesn't buy McBacca is funding terrorism.

That's figure perfection to me...  The highlight of the show actually for me, in terms of a single figure.  I love it.  He'll fit into random scenes perfectly because he's such a freak.

Too right.

My single most wanted figure of 2007.

I've had wave 1 on pre-order for a couple of months now and it finally arrived yesterday.

My first impressions are -

I like the style of the cards more in reality than I did when just looking at pictures on the internet.  As a carded collector I found them to have a more sturdy feel to them than the saga line (don't know why though)

Apart from the BD figuer I'm very happy with the sculpts.

The coin album is very neat.  It has some lovely artwork on it, a nice bit of infor about the history of the films and the figuer lines.

All in all, one very happy punter here.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Scenes that made you shudder
« on: July 11, 2006, 03:17 PM »
Most of my favourite scenes have already been mentioned bar a couple.

I just love the scene the when Obi Wan and Anakin start fighting on the collection arm just after it falls in the lava river (scene 43 on the dvd).  The score gives the scene a real feeling of doom and desperation as two former freinds fight to the death.

but my favourite scene from the enite SW saga is

the moment Bail arrives at the temple and is told to leave by the clone troopers.  Jimmy S really nails the "and so it is" line.  It's the perfect end to the order 66 scene, you know for sure that the republic has had it's day after that.  Top stuff.

As individule movies I think they are weak.

As a trilogy they don't far much better.

However, I think they make the original trilogy better.  They give it more depth, more emotion and the whole story is enhanced.

Gl gets a pat on the back from me but no gold star.

I was wondering how many memebers are on myspace?

Perhaps we could start a thread (mods feel free to move to a more appropriate section) where we could post links and get to know each other a bit better?

I'm here-
