Jayson doing Jayson things and teasing new 2024 products:
https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2024/01/09/tvc-rumor-report-new-unknown-playset-or-vehicle-code-name-found/
- dimensions of box are similar to something around the size of Tantive IV and Carbon Freezing Chamber playsets OR a vehicle like Imperial Troop Transport
Let's start our speculation while Jayson keeps digging...
-
With the ANH mains coming out again later this year, I am really hoping for a modular Death Star Hallway playset, which would tie in nicely together with the pipeline figures. It'd also fit the rumor description of the box size being very reminiscent of the Tantive IV set. Ideally, it would be designed in a way that could later connect to a larger HasLab type set.

That would be awesome!!!

I would love the detention center hallway on the Death Star.

We're now 3 years into this new era of TVC playsets. And frankly I'm surprised that we have only seen one Imperial setting for a playset, and it was the exterior of the Endor bunker complex. None of the gray walls with light pills that are the hallmark of Imperial facilities. That type of setting seems like such an obvious choice for a playset - especially since these seem to be tailored to the whole action figure photography movement. And that segment of the community LOVE GTP's space walls while that company was still in business.
But then there's the whole "Declan" code name. And the literal part of me started thinking about the actor that was the stand-in for Jabba in ANH, whose first name was Declan. That instantly made me think "Hmmmm. Maybe they're going to make a Tatooine docking bay?" But I don't think they would ever be that literal.

Non specific imperial hallways would have so many uses they'd sell a bazillion of them. Everything from all of the OT to much of the ST... Gideon's ship...
I'd want a lot of them if they were generic and not say... the detention block.
-
Agreed. They even turn up as the interiors of the Republic Venator class Star Destroyers in Clone Wars. It seems like such a no-brainer to go there.
-
I'd take either a generic imperial hallway or a generic Tatooine "docking bay" with some pit droids, crates, etc.

The detention block design got some re-use in animation, but I agree that it's a little bit too specific. The grey walls with light pills seem like an obvious choice, along with blast doors. So do some of the angled corridors with the archways, like on Moff Gideon's light cruiser or in the Gozanti freighter from The Mandalorian. Those would be a better starting point for an Imperial environment.

Jayson updated his rumor list, and it appears that the playset might be from Moff Gideon's light cruiser.

Imperial walls are just generic enough that they could be anywhere. I'm all for this!

Confirmed via pipeline reveal at today's Hasbro Star Wars livestream...
TVC Moff Gideon's Imperial Light Cruiser Hallway Playset w/Mandalorian Privateer (must be from Season 3 after Bo Katan/Axe had hold of Gideon's former ship).

Should work well for any generic Imperial hallway.
