I didn't miss anything overly pertinent in this thread in the past month or so, did I...?  :-X

Uh...  How long after a birthday is it still socially acceptable to say Happy Belated?  :-[

Hope you had a great b-day last week Mikey!  Sorry I missed the festivities...  I've been a tad bit MIA of late.

Happy Belated B-day to you too, Daniel!

I'm suggesting Malar is not in the movie...I've never seen him, never seen proof of him and we only have this one reference picture of him.

Oh.  Well, duh.  I completely agree with that.  I didn't mean to suggest that he was.  Just some pictorial reference material was all.  :-*

But yeah, if someone could find Waldo Malar in a Jabba's Palace background shot, that'd definitely be great, so we wouldn't have to refer to him as "EU"...

Colman...a Decipher card is now Canon?

The guy getting pushed down the stairs has a Doallyn helmet on...the only spot he may be is in the group shots after Han is unfrozen

Huh?  I certainly wasn't suggesting CCG cards were canon.  I was just putting it up there for visual reference since folks weren't sure who Malar was (including me).  I definitely realize he's got a slightly similar helmet to Doaylln, but figured they were probably two different characters based on the jump suit colors (and Hasbro's history of giving us slightly different characters than the ones we're requesting).

Are you suggesting that "Malar" might actually be Doaylln?  If so, that'd be cool, as long as they get his jump suit color looking closer to what we briefly see on film there, and tweak his helmet a bit more.  If that's not what you meant, I'm not sure what you're saying...?  ???

Sheesh.  Don't any of you guys use Google?!  :P

From Wookieepedia.com:

Quote
Bane Malar was a mysterious bounty hunter and infrequent guest of Jabba the Hutt's Palace. At the palace, his presence was a great mystery to its residents. Few knew even his name, and his species was unknown; rumors circulated that he was telepathic. As many of Jabba's entourage and employees, Bane Malar plotted to murder the large crime boss.

(CCG card on eBay)

Cool character, but I'd MUCH rather be getting the more popular and far more requested Sgt. Doaylln instead.  I'm stoked to finally be getting a Yarna though.  She's been #1 on my wants list for a good several years now.  'Bout time!  Completing the drum set with Ak-Rev is a big plus too.  I don't really care much about the sandstorm figures, but if they do them just right (goggles, windblown sculpt, etc.) they may be pretty cool.  Ewoks suck in general, but getting a couple more of them to fill out their sucky army is nice, I guess.  Now make us a new Ewok Village to stick 'em all in and I'll be happy.

If Colman was around this site anymore he would demand you go to Wildcats for him.

Yep!  Don't miss that place, Matt.  Basically, Coyote Ugly... if you're into that kinda thing.  ;)

God, I love tractors.

OK, so just Ryan, Matt and Tracy are waiting for the packages...

All good here!  Found my Santa swag in the mailbox today, though apparently if I'd have looked yesterday, I would've been hooked up even sooner...  :P

Thanks Santa!  Far too generous!   :-*   :-*

(and no, I don't have that flick already)

So Ryan's still waiting?  And is Sean as well?  Hopefully we can beat last year's record and have everyone hooked up before Valentine's hits!  8)

Thanks again, Santa.

OK, now...  Happy Birthday Beth!!  At least one of us around here is still enjoying a more youthful appearance and energy level than most of us other old farts, so kudos to you for that (though nearly falling asleep at the dinner table at CIV may have knocked you down a notch or two)...  ;)

Enjoy your day, and toss one or four back for me!  :-*

A Special Birthday wish going out to Jadesfire today. 8)

It's not even Beth's birthday here yet.  Damn, settle down you impatient Canucklehead!  Sheesh.  ::)

Ryan... if it was for me... feel free to send it now ! HAH !

Wait, are you still waiting for yours too, Sean?  Pretty sure Ryan's sending his to someone else...

As for my swag, no rush at all.  I ain't goin' nowhere, and it's more fun when it turns out to be more of a Secret Valentine type of gift anyway...  ;)

As for Tracy's cool Leia plate, I think it'd be even cooler if it had her big smooch with Luke on it too, and not just Han's.  That's kinda weak to single just his kiss out like that...  >:(

LEGO / Re: Indiana Jones LEGO Sets
« on: January 25, 2008, 04:47 AM »
I've been seeing the four new Raiders Lego sets all over town this week (at Targets).  Some Targets even have a flashing/light up acrylic display case showing off the Temple Escape and Motorcycle sets.  They're all very cool looking, but I swear I'm not touching this line.  Really.   :-X

The "moustached" Marion from the Well of the Souls set looks a little bizarre though...

Thanks for the analysis guys, and the great pix there Kingsley!  Hmmm...  I've never sought to be a packaging completist with this line, and have always intended to get around to opening everything up, eventually.  So it looks like that Falcon may be able to get returned to the store now that I look at that great comparison shot there.  I'll have to ponder this for a while...

Saw a bunch more of the wave today at various Targets (including the BSG ship).

I kept putting the "new" Falcon, Tiin's Fighter, and the Speederbike Clone back on the pegs because I thought I already owned those.   :-\

Well, do you (and I) already own those, Mike?  I was having the same thought, wondering if these were straight repacks, but ultimately grabbed them just to play it safe.  So, what's the verdict on these three?  Any differences?  I can't even remember if they already made the Biker Scout and Saesee's Fighter...  Did they?  God, I'm getting senile (and extremely disorganized).  :-\

Someone help me, please!
