I caught Deftones at First Avenue last night along with Glassjaw, on their reunion tour. Glassjaw were actually better than I remembered, which says a lot because I'm not a fan, really. Deftones were just insane, pulling off a set that lasted an hour and 45 minutes, with 3 small intermissions/breaks. Great mix of their entire catalogue, and hearing it live made me appreciate the new album a little more.

I stuck around after the show, and although he seemed a little hesitant, given the show's duration, Chino stopped and signed a few posters and I was able to get a picture in before he boarded the bus. The 11 year wait was well worth it!

Going to see The Who at the Verizon Center in DC, March 8. Should be a kickass show.

Last night I went to the Reg's Coffee House 10th Anniversary show.

Patty Griffin, Jim James, Matthew Perryman Jones, and Stoll Vaughan. I was there to see JJ.

Here's a picture of me watching Jim James' soundcheck... Picture was taken by my close friend Don, who was the photographer of My Morning Jacket's "Okonokos" album.

The Police are coming here on June 2nd. Tickets are $425.00 & $60.00 CDN for the nose bleed area & are on sale this Saturday. Beginning March 1st, 2007 at 4pm (MTN), you can purchase tickets before the general public by ordering The Police Tour Fan Club Membership during the presale as part of your ticket purchase transaction (an additional $120 CDN will be added to your order).

Ah nope, me think not.

The Police are playing at our Commonwealth Stadium which seats over 60,000 people. David Bowie, Willie Nelson, Genesis, Pink Floyd, & the Rolling Stones which sold out 2 concerts in 49 minutes.

This stadium is where we had the Hockey Heritage Classic that I went to back in 2003.

Yeah, the Police aren't worth that kind of coin. I'll be able to hear the concert tho.

Saw Wolfmother on Wednesday night. ****** A. Some bands seem to sound like **** live, but they were awesome. They even played a new number, and "Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeppelin. I wonder when their next album's coming out.

I'm really insanely jealous. Deftones are my favorite band. I missed them this past tour but I'm hoping to see them the next time around.
I remember my dream now.

Do you think Willie will ever retire?

He says that he will retire when his guitar is worn beyond the point of playability.

Looks like it's getting close....check out the hole in soundboard from so many years of strumming.

BTW...I am intensely jealous that you got to go see Willie live, Matt.  Huge fan.

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Willie's guitar, "Trigger", has probably had that hole for 20-something years. I wonder how long Martin Guitars expects he'll be able to keep it? They've offered to fix it on numerous occasions.
