There's also the fact that she wouldn't sleep with either of you...  ;)

stop it... you realism is ruining everything

i pretty much never tell anyone about my collection.  family and friends know, but i intentionally don't go into details.  i only have my vintage carded stuff displayed, so it doesn't look too over the top, and if you don't tell people what the cost they usually just think its kinda neat and kitschy.

Did I ever expect Hasbro to go this far though?  Hell NO!   :o

this was exactly my feeling.  i had always figured the fad would die down and hasbro would stop making SW and i would have my "complete" collection.  i am glad i didn't keep plugging away.  how many figures are in a modern complete collection now?  i have about 400 and stopped during the aotc run.

in about '98 i got my 1st potf2 stuff.  at 1st i only got what i liked, but i soon realized that i liked alot of it, so i decided to get the other 15 or so that i didn't have and go completist.   then it seems like there was a lull where no figures were coming out, so i started on the ships.  during this phase i was trying to display everything.  i had ships on strings and moc figures pretty much wallpapering the room.  then we moved and i "wallpapered" a room at the new house, but stopped bothering with the ships.  also, about that time i got my 1st vintage figures.  brians was selling luke jedi's and vaders for i think $30 each, so i went for it.  i immediately noticed that those figures felt much more interesting to me.  i continued with the modern like thru all the ep1 and potj figures, but only got a few of the saga ones.  i was completely out of room to display anything, and it really felt like hasbro was really stretching... putting out a bunch of figures that very meaningless.  that was when i decided to try to finish a vintage carded run.   i have about 70 of them now, and probably won't finish for quite a while.  the remaining ones are all either expensive or a pain in the ass to find in decent condition.  all the modern stuff i have is in boxes in the garage.  i need to sell it to fund a yakface.

San Antonio has yet to go above 95 degrees this year, and we are finally drying out after a very wet first half of the year.

i am surprised your summer is still so mild.  we got tons of rain in dallas too, but we are right back to what i would always expect in august... 100+ every day.

i saw rush saturday.  i have seen them a bunch of times and was very pleased that they broke out quite a few songs i had never seen them do live before, or hadn't heard in a very long time.

they are a smart band recognizing that most of their audience are repeat customers and trying to mix it up so people will come out every time they tour.

i saw that the mavs are on the short list of places allan houston was interested in going to.  i hope they don't sign him.  houston has already made a ton of cash with very little to show for it.

i have to wonder if the reggie miller thing isn't sort of related to the KG deal.  he told them he wasn't coming, so they got ray allen and begged some more.  i wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some sort of converstation like "ok, I'll come, but you aint done yet.  how about some more veterans?".

i think it certainly makes the celtics very big contenders in the east.   and, send the twolves back to the stone age.

i think Hill is a heck of a pick up for phoenix.  and, it seems like they got him for nothing.

last i heard, the lakers were losing hope.  kobe has gone on record saying even if KG comes, he still wants out.  since marion doesn't want to go to boston, it seems like the Hotlanta deal is the most likely.  apparently amare wouldn't mind playing with his buddy joe johnson again that seems like the best bet.

of course, since everyone lies in the nba about trades, its anybodies guess where KG will wind up.  personally, i don't think KG for Amare makes phoenix any better, but i think that is the less popular opinion right now.

it looks like the lakers are willing to trade their present and their future for KG.   i would be surprised if the lakers were super sucessful if this trade goes thru.  you need look no farther than houston to see what happens when 2 great players have no help at all.

Ah well, thanks for confirming the usual BS from an NBA star.  I wanna win but I'm not good enough so I have to go to a gooder team ;)

i would be with you on this except KG stuck it out for a very long time with the twolves and they never really got him any help.  now i think he is too old to be part of a rebuilding process.
