Worst idea ever, but cool that the Yellow Clonetrooper will see the light of day. Sounds like these will be exclusives, I'm going to say this is right up KB's alley
(http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/8-03/yodaclone.jpg)

Exclusives! Humbug!
-
I'm assuming these are all of the non-poseable variety?
-
ARC+White Clonie makes Famine a happy collector.

I don't know. I like the idea better than having to pay $11 to get the 3pack versions. Unless these are not going to be articulated? Then I'd go for the 3packs. Then again I probably won't find all the colors of the rainbow versions in the 3 packs or the value packs anyway. So ultimately in the end it won't matter.
-

I think this might actually be a repaint of the red Clone Trooper. This seems just like the K-Mart 2-packs that were done last year. Hopefully they don't get them.
-
If K-Mart gets them, I'm screwed. Same w/Target.
I'm hoping its KB, but thats not much better, seeing as my KB is stocked to capacity with pegwarmers from 02.
Oy.
I like them anyway. Not counting on finding them though...
-
Aaargh! How can such great new pics and news be coupled with such an overwhelming sense of frustration?!
It sure looks like those are repaints of the 02 Red Clone. That's great. Army building heaven for me. I'd like several articulated clean clones and a couple each of the higher ranks.
Having to buy a bunch of el Bandito Yodas to get an army? Bad. Having to stalk a specific chain to find exclusive items in an already poorly stocked line? Very bad. Packaging stinks, IMO, too.
I want these so bad, but I'm so disappointed in how the coolest variants ever have been so poorly handled. Pack ratios for the Clones in the 3pack assortment are aweful, especially considering all the variants, and forcing buys of multiples of core characters to get army builders is, well, stupid. Didn't mean to rant, but I think these are a great bunch of figures to get excited about, and are being distributed in a collector punishing way. Not cool.
J
-
Ughhh, my head is swimming now. For the 3 packs are the different colors as follows?:
Blue
Green
Orange
Then the exclusive 2 packs are
Blue
White
Yellow
Is that all or are their other variants?
-
The count so far seems to be:
Clone Wars 3-packs
Kneeling, Standing, Prone (white/clean)
Kneeling, Standing, Prone (blue standing)
Kneeling, Standing, Prone (green kneeling)
Binoculars, Kneeling, Standing (yellow binocs)
Clone Wars Bonus Packs
Anakin with Blue
Durge with Clean
Yoda with Yellow
I feel like I'm missing a 3-pack from the list?
J
-
I actually like the idea of the value pack. That yellow Clone Trooper is awesome! How much are these going to cost? I don't think I read about that anywhere.
-
If hasbro would just make 3 Packs of repaints of the Red Clonie, Famine would be happy as well.
Kevin
-
I saw John (MrPL) was not a big fan of the Red Clonetrooper...I am I think he rocks...I think these mutlipacks are modeled off of that figure, unless this is new all white version??? Any one looked real close to compare

You've got a mix-up in the 3-packs. Here's the 3-Pack lineup:
Standing, kneeling, prone - All white
Standing, keeling, prone - Standing blue
Standing, kneeling, prone - Prone red
Standing, kneeling, binoculars - Kneeling green
Standing, kneeling, binoculars - Binoculars yellow

The rumor was an all-new white clone sporting 14 points of articulation. Now, I'm hoping that figure is still on tap.
If he is, these packs are perfectly fine by me as army building fun for all! Go to em I say. And it would make sense to do something along these lines to get clone variety out there in an exclusive format while the single carded white poseable clone ships at the same time and everyone searches high and low for multiples of it.
If THESE are the "new white clone" though, then I'm disapopinted.
The red clone's articulation didn't lend it to many fun poses, and it certainly NEVER could acheive any level of a neutral pose, that's for sure. Much like the 3-pack clones, they don't strike me as "great" unless there's a neutral and still poseable version.
Then the extreme posed clones are great in my book, but only then. Same goes for all army builders though as I see it.
-
You know this really is a mess. It is going to be nut trying to find all of these. Whats even worse, the value packs show only the first wave of CW figures and 3 colors (White, blue and yellow). What about the second wave of CW figures? What about the other 2 colors (red and green)? Hasbro will no doubt bring them out too. Finally, what about the yet to be released sculpt of the clonetrooper holding the gun that was on-line awhile back? When and where will that be placed I wonder?
Someone tell me how to post a pic and I will post this unreleased Clonetrooper.
-
Oh yeah it's definitely nutty. I don't think I'm going to worry about getting all the different variants. That would be about $100 if I did. I don't want to spend that much on clonetroopers. I am sure many of you will though. Hasbro knows a money maker when they see it. Lucas was pretty smart putting colored stripes on them.
-
I like the idea to a point... It all depends on who they are going to be exclusive to, if they are exclusives, and what the price is going to be. If it's a reasonable price and I can find them, it would be a great way to pick up the CW figures and get the army building Clonetroopers. Time will tell...
-
Damn, more money out of my pocket...
more reasons for my wife to shoot me...
:P

I thought that Walmart wasn't carrying the clone-wars line so imagine my surprise to see the two-packs show up on the front of RS with a Walmart slip attached.
Now....if only I had the UPC (or could enlarge that photo to see the slip) I could harass the toy manager with something new!!!!!! ;)
-
These have hit here in SE MA and are very sweet for what I consider a steal of $4.77.
I guess Hasbro had some major a** :-* to do to get WalMart to carry the Clone Wars line (well partially anyway). I can see these flying off pegs faster than you can blink...
Keep your eyes open :o
-
For $4.77 you'd be a fool to pass these up. Looks like I'm buying Yoda after all.
-
Hope these show up by my house!
-
So I was right...I thought that Walmart wasn't going to carry these. When did they decide to start? Will they carry the rest of it now or just the two-packs?
-
Is there a list of the figures that come with these? I presume Anakin, Yoda but who else. Is it all the clone wars figs?
-
Found mine here in NEPA. (Keep your eyes peeled, Jesse!)
While hunting, keep in mind that these are displayed in corrugated displayers that hang off of endcaps. I almost missed them looking in the Action Figure aisle since they were merchandised three aisles away.
And yes, $4.77 is the bargain of the year!
-

No I'm not and yes they are. But variations that are essentially free with figures I'd buy anyway? I'll take 'em. :)
-
I'm hoping to find these long before I find single carded figures of the main characters at other retailers so I can save on my shopping/army building.
Not a great figure (The clone) IMO, but with a super articulated clone coming the rehashed Saga clone's just fine and dandy as something to add variety I think.
NOT finding the Clone Wars single carded figures here shouldn't be a problem considering we haven't been getting much around here at all lately.
Now trips to WM are a must... Thanks for the tip on them hitting the state MisterPL!
-
I found these today, they were in the regular STAR WARS section, double pegged in the spot where the SAGA figures can be found. I think a lot of these will show up on on sidepanels though on the endcaps.
Great value here, absolutely NO complaints. I am most pleased with these and Hasbro's decision here.
:P

This might be that super articulated Clone Trooper. As it is, this Clone Trooper has 14 points of articulation (if you include the two axes that the knees are articulated on):
-neck
-right shoulder
-right elbow (pivot joint)
-right wrist
-left shoulder
-left elbow (pivot joint)
-left wrist
-waist
-right hip
-right knee (bend)
-right knee (pivot)
-left hip
-left knee (bend)
-left knee (pivot)
The true test will be to see if these Clone Troopers wind up being individually carded in a later series. My guess is that they might go with the same sculpt.
-
Found the ARC Trooper/white Clonetrooper at my local Wal-Mart yesterday. Hopefully I'll find more because these are a great deal :).
-
Found :
Anakin (Clone War) and Clone Trooper (Lieutenant)
as well as
ARC Trooper and Clone Trooper
*note that all the clone troopers are repainted Commanders*
-
Got the Anakin & Lieutenant and Yoda & Commander value packs tonight. I think it's kind of cool that they actually noted the ranks of the Clone Troopers on the bubble inserts.
I also have to wonder, how well will this Anakin fit into his Starfighter?
-
I found 1 an Anakin/Blue Clonetrooper. Darn cool if you ask me. Glad to see Hasbro go Wally World to take these with a free figure. Maybe Wal-Mart should threaten Hasbro more often :)
-
Quick question for those of you who have already found some of these...
Are the 2 cards for the respective figures actually conjoined somehow, or are they separate? Basically, will there be any difference at all between the regular carded CW figures (like Anakin & Yoda), and the ones that come in these sets?
Also, are any of these Clonetroopers the same as any of the ones that came in the Clonetrooper 3-packs?
Color me stupid when it comes to this item! Any info would be appreciated! :-*
-
Hey JediMac-
I found all of these at a NY Wal Mart tonight scattered all over the toy aisle, there was no display. But initially they come in a cardboard display that you can hang on an endcap.
The card is the size of 2 SAGA cards side by side, but all one piece. You can separate them with a scissor of blade of some kind, but it's not meant to be that way.
The white clone, yellow, and blue, are all simply repaints of the SAGA red clone. But the cool thing is the whole pack is just $4.77
I found a total of 6 value packs tonight but left 2 of them there because the clones had awful paint jobs. The 4 that I bought were pretty nice.
-
Yep DR hit most of the major points, the two places I have seen remnants of the cases were at the ends of two different aisles in a blue box. They were hung on two pegs...
Adam Pawlus has a nifty review over at GH of these, I agree that these are some of the best things of 2003...again my only thing is...why aren't they doing this with all figures if they can afford to do it here? Plus non-Value packs are going to be retail death even more than before. This may mean bad things in terms of Pegwarmers

Scott, don't know why Hasbro is doing it now, but it resembles their GI Joe figure packaging. They all come in 2-packs now, and that must be working well for them. However, those GI Joe 2-packs are about $8 each, instead of the Star Wars 2-pack price of $4.77.
-
They remind me of uncut baseball card sheets.

Yeah, that's what I gathered from glancing at a couple pix around the net, but thanks for the confirmation Matt. Hadn't read Pawlus' review on them yet either, so consider me informed now...
Unfortunately, it's what I feared - as an avid carded and loose pschopathic completist. Not sure what my game plan on these is going to be, but I'd imagine I'll "have to" be getting 2 of each of them, in addition to their equivalent single carded counterparts... :-\ I guess that I can get by with only one single carded version to keep carded, since I can use the second value pack for my loose specimens. Hopefully that's OK with my OCD... I'll keep you posted on that developing situation... :P
So, there's only 3 sets so far, correct? Just the Anakin, Yoda, and ARC Trooper, and each of them only come with one specific Clone Trooper (no Clone swapping between the sets), right? Has anyone heard whether there's going to be more of these, for some of the other future CW figures?
Thanks for the info everyone! :-*

Only three so far, Matt. Anakin with Clone Lt. (blue), Yoda with Clone Commander (yellow) and ARC Trooper with your basic white grunt clone. As for more, your guess is as good as mine. I haven't heard anything yet.
-
I would suspect that IF we get more of these value packs in the future, that we might get a green Clone Trooper Sergeant and another white Clone Trooper with Obi-Wan and Mace. I can't see them issuing more red Clone Troopers. There are plenty out there as it is.
As for the others, if they do them, I get the feeling they may pack in Super Battle Droids or Battle Droids with the Seperatist characters. Just a theory, nothing more.
-
The reason they aren't doing this all the time is because Hasbro needed to do some major *** :P w/ WalMart. This was it... Could it happen again? Sure it could ;)
Thing is Wally cancelled on their exclusives and really were not buying much at all including Clone Wars product... Hasbro knows WalMart is an account that you need and want to support a line of any kind. So sometimes you need to do what ya gotta do...
This is a money maker for WalMart and that is pretty obvious by the lack of these value packs anywhere. There was no way they could pass on it. Although this was a one shot deal...
However many were received by each store was it. There is no replenishing of these...
Hopefully everyone that wanted made out w/ at least a set...
-
For those near Anaheim, Disneyland now has the Clone Wars value packs, in the Space Mountain gift shop
-
Thanks for the update. Ah, if there were only a Disney World in St. Louis...
:P
-
Still, I have NEVER seen them or heard of any reports of them being in the Chicagoland area. >:(
-
picked up two at aq kay-bee near chicago, the yoda w/yellow commander.
-
Drat and double drat! I was working on my Clone Army diorama, and was articulating the Clone Commander from the value pack. I'm trying to pose him so that he can hold the binoculars that come with the 4th pose Clone Trooper from the green Clone Trooper army builder set.
Anyway, as I'm posing this yellow Clone, his left arm comes off! Just totally breaks right at the joint.
Well, since then, I've contacted Hasbro customer service, and I've got to say that they've been very responsive. They responded to my inquiry with 12 - 16 hours. And, they're prepared to replace the item for me. They're even sending me the mailing materials so that I can return the item, and they'll send me a new one or an item of equal or greater value. Not bad service, IMO.
But, back to the joints of the value pack Clone Troopers...has anyone else noticed that they're somewhat stiff? These Clone Troopers don't seem nearly as flexible or articulate as the sculpt they were patterned on, the red Clone Trooper from the SAGA line.
-
If you are still looking for the Value Packs try KB Toys in the mall. Two of my KB's in the malls here in Indy have been getting them in for only $5.99.
-
I was at my local KB today in Green Bay and they have the first wave of the 2 packs (finally) $5.99
-
Value packs! Sweet. Ya bunch of lucky... Sure wish they came up here. :'(
-
Dale if ya want any drop me a line I would pick them up for ya if you do.
-
Hey Wayne, any chance you can help me out? Let me know, and I'm sending you a PM. 8)

Sent ya a PM Wayne, (http://www.snowtroopers.ca/forum/YaBBImages/lipsrsealed.gif) (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilies/lustig/24.gif)

Thanks for the heads up BDW, grabbed some opener sets this morning - there were plenty on the pegs! ;D Sweet victory at last.

Out of curiousity, how much were they at Disneyland?

Out of curiousity, how much were they at Disneyland?
They're $10 each Matthew. I might be heading back down that way in a few weeks, so give me a holler if you want me to snag you any (if they're still around)...

How many "Matt"s are we up to now? ???

How many "Matt"s are we up to now? ???
Way too many Matt. I think we're gonna have to start calling you The Dentist. 8)
I call Fish Matthew, for at least a little different take on our name. Especially when he and I hang out... :P
BTW, I know what you look like now! Totally not what I was expecting... :P
So has anyone been finding the Value Packs at their local KBs yet? Still haven't seen them there yet either. Not that I need them anymore, since I finally polished off a couple sets from the boards, but I'd still like to send a few out to others in need at least! So, where the heck are they?
-
The only two value packs I picked up were at KB in the Florence Mall in Kentucky. Both ARC value packs, so I was pleased. $5.99, can't go wrong there.
-
Our Moms either names us Matt, Chad, or Chris during the Star Wars era, LOL!
Coleman (JediMac) let's go by last names. Mine is Auna or DaBigKahuna as I am affectionately called. I'll pass at $10 each, but if you can find them at Walmart or KB Prices please pick me up one the Anakin and two of the Arcs.
My nephew scored me the Yoda and Anakin Value Pack at KB over there in Lohemans Plaza which usually has nothing.
DaBigKahuna
