The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: November 12, 2003, 09:51 AM »
Although I've only been collecting the X-Men from Marvel Legends so far, after reading Coheteboy's review of part of Series V HERE, I'm almost considering getting Silver Surfer.  Something about that figure just looks pretty cool to me.  Have any of you found any of the newest wave yet?  I'm really looking forward to Colossus.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: As expected... PEGWARMERS!
« on: November 11, 2003, 04:51 PM »
Well, I'm surprised.  The last time I went shopping (and I think I posted here), I was worried because the pegs at our closest Target were jammed full of the Wave 1 Clone Wars figures.  Now, my wife and I went shopping this past weekend again (two weeks later), and almost all of those figures were gone, there was only a handful left.  Granted, there were basically no "regular" saga figures on the pegs (except for two repackaged Jangos), but I guess I was just surprised to see Anakin and Yoda (not as much the ARC) selling as well as they have.  Maybe the cartoon is generating more interest, and since the 'toon figures aren't out yet, people are settling for these instead.  Who knows, but I still just hope there isn't a glut around the time the Saga Theme waves start hitting.  I don't want to miss out on those, and Target has been the only place around here with much new for a long time.

Agreed, a big thanks to all of the veterans out there that keep us safe each and every day, they truly are heroes.  God bless you all.

Thanks for the pic OCB, I think that figure looks really great.  We never have any new MOTU around here (that's pretty much the story everywhere though, isn't it?)  I'm just looking to find this figure for $20-$25, and I might be done with MOTU unless the retail situation picks up.  Pretty much done before I started I guess, but its too hard to catch up right now.  Gots to have me a Roboto though!  Thanks again for the pic! :)

TV-9D9 / Re: CLONE WARS Cartoon... Reactions
« on: November 11, 2003, 09:52 AM »
I'm really impressed with this cartoon, and definitely hooked right now.  Its nice to have some new Star Wars to look forward to watching every week day.  Although the episodes are only 3-ish minutes long, they definitely do a good job getting a lot packed into those minutes.  And, at least for me, they really leave me wanting more and looking forward to the next day right away again.  I hope they at least explore the option of a 30 minute show when this micro-series is done with, I think they are doing a great job so far though :).

Saga '02-'04 / Do You Have a Favorite Character(s) To Collect?
« on: November 10, 2003, 10:00 PM »
Although I know many of us are completists, semi-completists, OT fans, or PT fans, I was curious if any of you have favorite character or characters that you really look forward to, even if there are multiple versions, or maybe only one version.  If you only had room for a collection of your favorite character, or characters, who would it/they be?  For me personally, I like almost all of the Star Wars universe...with some preference toward OT characters.  Although I like them all...Vader, Luke, Leia, Yoda, R2, 3PO, etc....for me its always about Han and Chewie.  I think I have and would buy almost every version of those characters that are released for the most part.  But...I do appreciate the background characters as well, and the whole Star Wars universe...but when it comes down to it that duo is probably my favorite.  Do any of you have "favorites"?

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: New Ultra Clone shots at JD.com!
« on: November 10, 2003, 12:53 PM »
This figure really looks great, I can't wait to get several if we are able to find them.  I agree, I think it would be fairly easy to get a Stormtrooper out of these.  Heck, do some more of these "super articulated" jobbies for some of the other characters too while you're at it Hasbro :).

I was really surprised at how much the Lakers struggled with San Antonio last night, I figured it would be a blow out.  I guess they did what they needed to do though, win, so what can we really say?  It makes me think it might be competitive at least though, once S.A. gets Duncan and Parker back.  Great game though :).

This next wave looks great.  So far I've only been collecting the "Original Trilogy" ones, with the exception of Yoda, and a Jango that I got as a gift.  The Clone looks pretty cool though...tempting.  I'd really like to see full shots of the Luke and Chewie though, I've really been looking forward to a Chewbacca to go with Han :).  Hopefully Hasbro will put their shots up soon.

Other Collectibles / Re: Playskool Line: Do You Collect...Opinions?
« on: November 7, 2003, 09:15 AM »
I just saw (courtesy of Yakface) that there are some unrelease protos for some Playskool figures (Leia, Han, Luke, Stormtrooper).  Interesting to see more of what might have been, I really hope they revisit this line.  Here's the link to the auction if you'd like to see the pics:

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: LFL Summit...OT DVD's and a TV Show !?!?!!
« on: November 6, 2003, 03:03 PM »
One thing I noticed in the AICN blurb, they never actually said it was OT DVD's, although it most likely is...they just said " then the original Star Wars trilogy is being released September 2004".  I would guess it would be DVDs though, I know we all hope so :).

I hope that all of this news turns out to be true, it all sounds great to me.  Hopefully we will get some confirmation soon on the OT DVD's.  You would think if this information is true, and leaking out, that they would go ahead and announce them...we'll see.  I'm not sure what I would rather have if they go the television route.  I'm just excited to hear that it is a possibility, to continue SW a little longer.  I sometimes think that if they are doing something, with classic trilogy characters, that cartoon might be better because it might be difficult seeing Han, Luke, Leia, etc. played by different people if it was "live action".  Live action could be neat too though.  You never know I guess, we'll have to see.  Maybe its not all ending as soon as we thought :).

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What Big Announcement?
« on: November 6, 2003, 02:23 PM »
I have been really curious about this announcement too....there was so much rumor/speculation that it might be about the marketing campaign for Episode III, or to announce the OT on DVD, or something along those lines.  I really hope that we hear some sort of report soon, and maybe find out some good news.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Bail Organa wave is OUT!
« on: November 6, 2003, 12:14 PM »
Nice score!  This looks to be a pretty good wave, with some variety and well-done figures.  As OCB said, the hunt begins!  Thanks for posting that they are out there.....somewhere :).
