Good question Matt.  I've been just NOW tinkering with Pay Pal.  I don't use PP ever, and rarely use Ebay really (never sold, only bought, and limited in anything I've bought even).

I verified my account with a bank account, and from what I gathered that I read, they don't take ANYTHING from your account, it's just a protection measure for the "Pay Pal COmmunity".  Others will be able to verify this though.

From what I gathered, fi you wanted to actually pay with Pay-Pal, you had to transfer money FROM your Bank Account to your Pay-Pal Account, which took a couple days, and then you could pay with Pay-Pal by transferring the money you put into your PP account into another Pay-Pal Account...  If that makes sense.

Again, I'm a novice with this.  I dont' use Ebay for much of anything unless I can get it for super cheap but recently found a need to have a PP account so I signed up.  Still have yet to use it.   :-\

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Toys R Us merger
« on: June 27, 2005, 12:23 AM »
The fact a real-estate factor is involved can be scary...  A lot of TRU stores are planted right amidst some prime real-estate (usually within close proximity to a mall, at least in my area, which is land that can garner quite a penney).  Could spell store closings, but that's just a thought I throw out there...

I think TRU can work, I just think the way in which it's run now isn't going to work.  This store rarely has clearances, it rarely has sales (much less sales at a peak time...  Like why aren't SW figures $1 off right now in an effort to clear some room?  If they can run a sale like that once they can run it now and undercut WM a bit who I doubt would drop their prices to match...  But whatever).

TRU, like toys in general, is going to have to change...  If they want to stay around in any capacity anyway.  It's a shame though because it shows how our times have changed.  When I was young it was Children's Palace, then TRU which was slightly different, and now Toys are something along the lines of Toilet Paper...  Blah.

I'm not a WM fan so any detrimental news to TRU is sorta disheartening to me...  I've had the misfortune of studying WM inside out, and I'll never look at that company with anything but contempt...  TRU just isn't trying the right ways though, and have some work to do.  I would not be the slightest bit surprised at further store cuts for real-estate value that outweighs store profitability either, but I think/hope the Toys R Us chain will still live for a while at least...  How they alter to fit the market will determine how long they go on...

Then again they could close up shop all together...  I think I'd be surprised at that though.  I don't thinkt hey can turn-over their properties to make the deal they worked out worth closing up shop all together.

Nothing wrong with that if you ask me...  It's always a lot of work.

If you guys do have the time to check it out, CHEWIE puts a lotta work into the photonovels and they fit pretty well into the SW universe too.  I'm always pleased to see he keeps some really background stuff (planet names and such) within his continuity.  To me that shows a strong effort to make your stuff just as good as the EU LFL sanctions.

You all should check it out...

Wait, someone stole Dave's shift keys?  I think I have some in a kitbashing fodder box if he wants them.

More Stormtroopers for the collection...  I got these last week actually on a tip from my local collecting bud, Dave.  He let me know 4 VOTC Stormies were just waiting on me to get the time to make the trek to the famed Monroeville Mall (home of where they shot Dawn of the Dead, and our tri-annual Toy Show).  I popped off at the Toys R Us and nabbed them, though I think I was just lucky though that nobody else beat me to them.

It's a busy area just outside the city...  I had to go to Lowe's anyway so it put me in the area, but it was a little later in the day.  I was concerned.

4 replacements to the squads.  Great...  Funny that TRU STILL is putting VOTC out.  Gotta run a sale to unload those Yoda's and Lando's now though.   :-\

Heh, I agree and that's about as polite a way to put that as I've ever seen.

It helps though for people to be interested in what you're saying overall...  Sadly I know a LOT of people around various forums that simply ignore posts by people with chronically bad grammar...  I can't blame them in a way because it does become troublesome to read.  Plus I've had a lot of experience in reading poorly written/typed material so maybe I'm just less critical, but even I have trouble getting the gist of someone's post from time to time...

I won't name any names, but there's one site out there where every other post is pretty damned confusing...  When a thread's full of those posts though, it spirals out of control.  Those are all good tips Chris gave to help people be more well received by their peers here and abroad (at other sites).

I could be wrong but I thought the Vader had a removable helmet as well Jared, so I agree it's going to one-up the VOTC which is a tough job.  May have the ankles articulated as well...

I can't wait.  These sets are just perfect looking.  Thanks for pointing that out man!

Difference of opinion on the term itself I suppose, but I feel it's a term not applicable to people in a public forum, even if the intent was meant in jest, so I'm sorry you see it as an abuse of power.  It's a simple edit of one word, nothing more, nothing less, and I hope that's explained thoroughly enough now.

Snowserpent looks great.  Almost identical to his original, right down to snowshoes and an AK.  That's sweet.

Major Blood, though not the greatest/cartoony enough for my taste, looks pretty good.  I like the Cobra Night Ops set.  People will go nuts for that.

Everyone's thoughts are with you Shannon.  I was telling my partner in crime from C3 you were sick and she wanted to extend her thoughts to you as well...  We really are hoping you're feeling as well as you can, and that you keep your spirits high as a kite!  Stay smiling and you're going to pull through everything AOK.

And Rob, you rock buddy!  Glad someone so sweet has such a good friend in you to coordinate that.  Shannon, you keep in good spirits because any time you're not feeling so great, remember we're all thinking about you!

At C3 I came in and sat in the back...  I remember hearing Matt but not realizing it was him till later and laughing about his tenacity.  :)  Gotta get your voice heard though man, I'm all for that.  Sitting in the back was not conducive to getting answers (or getting your question heard).  I know mine needed repeating after the question was (I'm assuming) misheard.

Matt I envy you getting to go to this all the time.  :)  Wish I could hop a flight out your way bud.

I'd like to see a screenscene of three, especially the Quarren and Aqualish...  Not repeats of the others though.

Were the Banking Clan guys in E3?  Or were they absent and perhaps taken out of the war as per the Clone Wars episodes where the ARC's were featured on their planet?  I recall them losing to the Republic in that and seeing San Hill guys getting led away, but was he one of them because I don't recall him in E3 at all.

But that stuff aside, I definitely would take 3 of the yet-to-be-mades in a screen scene that maybe featured some Mustafar technical set pieces...  They had small holo-tables they were watching of the various fronts it seemed.

I'm disappointed with the figure (as all pack-ins have sorta sucked) but I do like the vehicle.  It's to-scale and that works for me, plus you can load a Wookiee in the gunner's seat.

I'll take a couple of these I think...  I may take a 3rd for a downed one too.  At $15 too, that's pretty cheap to do a custom with the vehicle.
