Jack Bauer may die in final '24' (thanks Dale)

I personally don't care much for this season and they've pretty much taken the show as far as it can go IMO, so we'll see.

They're ignoring a third possibility... Jack gets arrested and put away for torture.  That seems more true to the series without ending in Jack's death.

It's been a slow start.  It's a shame they didn't spend any time getting you invested in the passengers of the crashed planes last night like they did with the test planes in the premier... would have made a better impact.

And if terrorists took partial control of the flight control system, I'm pretty sure they'd send out a warning to pilots that something was wrong, and to look out for stray aircraft.  That whole plot seemed pretty cheap.  I'm certain there's codes for security breaches.

I can't believe the thing wasn't stripped.  Materials alone must be worth a fortune.

The WHopper Virgin commercials are retarded.

They don't even tell you the results.  Most taste tests, if they're successful, they'll say "preferred 2 to 1" or something along those lines.  Whopper Virgins just say they preferred the Whopper.  Which means the results were probably a lot closer to 49-51 than 67-33.

And who compares the Big Mac to anything these days?  The signature burger at McD's is the Quarter Pounder.

I DVR everything, and skip the commercials.

I thought it was funny in the promo for Monday that they were saying "Don't miss the first big surprise of the season"... I kinda think Tony being back from the dead counts as a big surprise.   ::)

Yeah, but he just signed on for "The Expendables."  With both films entering production around the same time, I don't know that he could do both.

That same article makes mention of an assistant by the name of Natasha.  A potential tie-in for the Black Widow, perhaps?

Possible, but that seems unlikely given how close Marvel has stayed to other comic figure origins.

Natasha was his assistant in the Ultimates, and they've borrowed from the Ultimate Universe quite a bit, including Sam Jackson as Nick Fury.

Mickey Rourke as the Crimson Dynamo
Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer

Smells of BS to me.  Wishful fanboy thinking.  Like Depp as the Riddler.  And I don't think Rourke would pass as Russian, and he's too old for the role.

Better is fine, just didn't really do anything for me.

One error in my earlier review... the word he draws out is "you" rather than "world."  I was looking through the lyrics trying to play it back in my head, and picked the wrong one.

And my impression that the last half of the album was all whiny was incorrect.  It's really only the last 1/4.  But that last 1/4 is so epically whiny that it bled over in my mind to all the previous songs.  On a second listening, both 8 and 9 are great, rocking songs.

#10 Sorry is garbage.  I don't like it at all.  The lyrics are anti-whiny, but they come across as whiny.  Plus it's too long, too slow, and dull.

I.R.S. like I said before is catchy.  Decent song.

12 and 14 have some redeeming qualities... they're not great, but they're listenable... but they're pretty much overrun by the whiny suckiness that is This I Love.  I never thought one bad song could ruin an album, but This I Love is challenging that belief.  That one song puts me in a mindset that just soils everything around it.  If it wasn't included, I think I would have absolutely loved this album.  The goodness of the songs I really enjoy would affect my perception of the whole.  But This I Love just obliterates that effect, and replaces it with bad feelings.

So I think I'll end up erasing This I Love from my MP3s and skip it when I listen to the CD in the car.  Maybe, with time, the bad effects will fade and I'll love the album.  I hope that's the case, at least.
