Thanks for the link Dale.  Maybe I can sneak some time here at work - don't think I'd have much luck at home with my ol dial-up.  Someday I'll be up to speed on technology.   :)

Mikey, I'll burn you a CD with all the episodes and you can watch them at your leisure.  8)

Okay, for THAT I would be willing to offer up freebie bootlet marching and firing clones sir!

I broke down and ordered two Teela's today.  Was trying to avoid this, but it's too nice of a figure.  It was no additional shipping for the second, so I figured I'd get a second and see if I can find someone to split the cost with me.   :P

Thanks for a great deal on the Kubrick Aurra Sing last night.  She's awesome!

Speaking of which - Dan, let me know what you want for that 5-pack.  I may be interested.   ;)

I nabbed Jay's Aurra Sing for $100 last night and it is fantastic.  Needed some Kubie goodness to re-light my Kubie fire of late!

I saw the beasts, vehicles, and 6-inch line today and was more impreseed with all of those.  The Beasts would be an okay fit with SW if you wanted animal background fodder.  I am really digging the exo-suit as well - it's not that bad of a vehicle for $20.  The 6-inch line just had 4 of the blue guy and 2 of one soldier, so not much variety there.  They look like great matches for the Marvel Legends scale though.

I saw the Public Enemies figs at two different Targetsthis morning.  Same case that John found with two figures missing.  That is pretty irritating, given that it's a BAF wave of figures.  I didn't see a need for any of them, so I left them all behind.

Can't get enough of these guys but a bit worried about some of the Chase prices.

I still have no clue as to why you guys are so fascinated with kubricks, but more power to ya.  Jeff - you can delete this post at any time.   ;)

Is that to say you don't like them or just don't think they're worth the price.  I love my Kubie set - I just think the figs look ultra cool and it's a bit rarer than a lot of my other stuff, which makes it feel a little more special.  The prices are definitely hard to stomach though. :P

9.99 shipping?  I don't think I've ever ordered anything from them that was more than $10 shipping.   :P

I saw these out on a store run last night.  Pretty lame looking figures.   :P  They might work okay for custom mixing with Star Wars, but not much value outside of that.

Got a bunch of new goodies from Matt tonight - thanks for hooking me up with the WM exclusive evos and the elusive CAT Droid!  Appreciate the upcoming assist on the WM 2-packs as well!

Hrmn...deja vu!  Thanks again to Matt for 3 bags of new goodies (comic packs, WM 2-packs, and the Y-Bomber).  That gets me just about 100% caught up!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Heroes on NBC
« on: October 13, 2009, 07:00 PM »
Damn, I missed last night's episode because it got pre-empted for a gubernatorial debate. (!) The re-airing is 3am tonight/tomorrow...sigh.

I think you can usually catch these pretty quickly on NBC.com or Youtube.  They also have great mini-page recaps of last season (I had to review the major plot points from Season 3 to get caught back up this year).

I have to say, I'm not overly impressed with the plot points so far.  Take any given character and they've just gone through radical changes over just 3 seasons.

- Mohinder is the science guy, then gets powers that turn him into a monster, now has Spidermanlike agility, no side effects and where the heck has he gone?
- Peter has an awesome ability to collect powers, blows up, has amnesia, meets a girl (and she went where?), future self tries to kill his brother, he loses his powers, powers come back, but seems like he only keeps the latest power he steals now (?), totally alienates himself from his family to play full-time EMT...he's become pretty one-dimensional. Oh, and Ando has powers now too.  What?
- Nathan goes from reluctant guy with Power to "I'm gonna tell the world about people with powers" to I'm going to work for the government to capture and "cure" people with powers?  What?  Then dead, replaced by Sylar?  Just goofy/dumb.
- Sylar goes from massive baddy to confused good guy to Nathan/Peters sibling.  He actually gets somewhat likeable and gets a girlfriend, but out of no where he kills her off and is a bad guy again.  Then he gets mind-wiped to become the new Peter, but he's ALSO stuck in Matt's head.  Lame.
- Hiro goes from funky fun master of time & space to stuck in the past forever to losing his power and stuck in the past again, then rescued and recharged, but his power is killing him.  Seriously - is there any character they haven't totally mucked up?

The premise in the first season was cool - these people have powers and what should the do with them.  Instead of trying to copy the X-men with a virus and government persecution, they should have focused on introducing new baddies and how the various heroes need to accept their powers and work together to stop them.  Why haven't ANY of these heroes decided to stay together? If I had weird super powers and knew about other dudes with powers and we used those powers to save a bunch of people, I think I might suggest at least a monthly get-together for brews or something to stay in touch.

I will, of course, stay on to the bitter end because I am compelled to see what happens next and love the idea of any kind of super-hero show, but I'm pretty dissapointed overall.  Here's hoping they come up with something brilliant with the carnies - I'm not going to hold my breath though.

I'm not sure I'm following your explanation of where the ball is initially downed.  Say the punting team successfully hits the ball back out of the endzone and it lands at the 2 yard line.  The receiving team player then picks it up and runs to the 50, then fumbles and the punting team recovers at the 50.

I'm shocked that the punting team would not get to keep possession at that point.  If that's true, does the ball go back to the 2 yard line where the receiving player picked it up?  Or since it was blocked from the endzone, is it a touchback that goes back to the 20?  The ball is never officially "downed" anywhere in your example, is it?

I only saw bits and pieces of the Vikings game, but I'll give that defense some well deserved kudos.  They had two big goal line stands that were pretty amazing.  It's the Rams, so it's not like they were going to win regardless, but that was impressive.  Allen is a monster.
