As we get closer to Celebration IV, I thought it would be good to have a list of people that have booked their flights & the hotels they are staying at. :)
For myself, I will be staying at the Holiday Inn across from the convention centre. ;D
As for my flight, I just booked & will be arriving on May 23rd at 11:00am & returning on May 29th morning flight.
Gotta love the Air Miles, sort of a free flight & I only had to pay the taxes & insurance. I was a little worried that I would be taking a milk run via Calgary or Vancouver which would have been a 7 1/2hr flight route but I lucked out & got a direct flight of 3 1/2hrs. 8)
Also note for us Canuckleheads, starting January 23, 2007, an American initiative will require travellers to the United States by air to carry a valid passport.
So when do you arrive & leave & what hotel are you saying at? :)

I'm staying at the Wilshire. I arrive on Tuesday (22nd) and leave Sunday (27th). I plan on going to Disneyland on Wednesday, so I hope it's nice. If not, I guess I could spend the day in a shopping mall ;).

Party at the Holiday Inn! Dale and I are crashing there with 3 other Canucks, it could get ugly. :P
I haven't booked my flight yet since I'm waiting for a seat sale that often comes up with our local airline, WestJet. But I'm planning to arrive on Wed the 23rd and leave Tue the 29th.
I'd better check my passport, they're good for five years, right?

I'm staying at the Ramada Inn 1.4 miles away from the Convention Center. Need to visit the area one of these days to see what the area looks like. Glad I don't have to get a flight for this one.

While staying in LA I'm at the Sheraton with 14 other fans from Calgary man this trip is gonna be awesome. Dale and Jesse hope to hook up with you guys down there.

While staying in LA I'm at the Sheraton with 14 other fans from Calgary man this trip is gonna be awesome. Dale and Jesse hope to hook up with you guys down there.
Holy crap! 2 different flights from 2 cities & only 12 mins. apart for arrival. Stick around Ryan & maybe we all can cab it to the hotels. ;) ;D
Yep, a big old hook up it will be. The Canucklehead invasion will begun! ;D

Any locals have any advice on hotels. I can get a pretty good deal staying in Montebello of of the Pomona freeway, but I am not sure about driving around the 10 miles. Maybe I should just suck it up and stay downtown.
Any thoughts?

I'm still working out hotel details. We have a business associate in LA and they recommend staying as close as possible to the convo cntr and near metro lines. they are also advising us on 'good' and 'bad' parts of town.

I've been holding off booking a flight in hopes that I'll find a seat sale.
Air Canada = $540 CDN round trip (regular price)
WestJet = $662 CDN round trip (regular price)
Current seat sale with Air Canada = $334 CDN round trip. I'm not sure I'll do better than that...

Well... Alea Jacta Est.....
Looks like I'm coming in around 9:30AM on the 23rd and leaving around 9PM on the 29th. Puts me back in DC around 6AM then I head off to work where if things go well, I'll be able to just kick back all day fix issues remotely from my cubicle.
Matt and I changed our plans when some rooms opened up at the Holiday Inn so we're staying there after taking the $50 hit for canceling his reservation (but the savings and commute reduction is SOOOO worth it).
I'm looking forward to the trip and my cousin is currently living in and around LA so we'll be able to grab dinner at the very least.
Are there any JD gatherings planned yet? I'd love to meet up with everyone.

There's a ton of us staying at the Wilshire Grand too. Feel free to come eat with us if you are staying alone. There's like 40 of us in the hotel plus I think room sales are slated for Friday night so there will be stuff to do and people to meet. Jay Coulston is GH staff and he should be spending quite a bit of time with us too. :)

My wife will allow another person or two to cash at my house if anyone really needs to save some cash. PenDragon is taking up residence. Also, between myself, my neighbor who's going and public transportation, it should be easy to get to and from the convention center.

Due to a rather unfortunate turn of events, I really need a roommate(s) if anyone is interested... I'm at the Wilshire Grand as well and will be there from the 22nd to the 29th, so 7 nights total. It is only about half a mile from the con center too, the second or third closest hotel, so there is no need to worry about transportation or car rental...

I am that unfortunate event. C4 just isn't financially in the cards for me, due to recent happenings at work, and the possibility of a family funeral that week, I can't go.
I was really looking forward to the trip, but I just can't make it. :(
