I can get behind all of those.

I'd also like to see a nice new Removable limbs C3PO. I'm betting a really nice set can be designed that includes the box that Chewie carries him in back to Han and Leia.

With no much known about what's on the horizon, I can't help but think that next year will have some focus on ESB, so I was speculating what figures could appear on vintage cards. While there seems to be some no-brainers because of previous releases, you never know.

Anyway, here the figures I think should be the prime candidates:

1) Lando                              An SA Version is way past due.
2) FX-7                                It's been perfect since POTJ.
3) Bespin Security Guard       The bearded/mustache version is way past due.
4) AT AT Driver                     It's already done. Slap it on a vintage card.
5) Rebel Soldier (Echo Base)  If any figure needs a re-release, it's this one.
6) Leia (Bespin Escape)         I think this is a much needed "new" figure.

So does a somewhat embarrassing fail for Cookie Monster mean anything for future Star Wars Haslab releases?.......

I doubt it.  The Jabba's sail barge did very well.  If anything this should have Hasbro focusing more on Star Wars.

A year ago I thought Hasbro was rediscovering Star Wars and leaning into it pretty hard.  Now it looks like they're getting ready to let it fade away...

I feel like that this has a lot to do with Steve Evans being brand manager, then not.

The Vintage Collection / Re: What Would Be "The End" For You?
« on: August 24, 2019, 01:19 PM »
I just don't know for sure what "The End" would be for me. Before the Vintage collection returned, I did feel lukewarm to what was available, especially with the unwanted return of 5 POA figures. However, at this point, my love of the OT is still strong and for the foreseeable future I'll still ravenously procure anything Hasbro to offer from my three favorite films of all time.

This is showing up on the Target app for those still looking for it.  I finally managed to snag one.
I'm tempted to try to collect all 18, even though that's idiotic.

Yes. Yes it is. That's why I may do the same.  ;)

I have been watching this thing on Amazon and remain undecided if I need it. I don't really display vehicles, but this thing is nearly a diorama piece with the stand and all the room for figures. Plus I have that Target Sarlacc Pit kicking around here somewhere to go with it...

I don't mean to peer pressure you but, you've already hit the nail on the head. It's a perfect diorama piece and the price feels more than reasonable.  ;)

Holy sticker shock!

YAKFACE - RUMOR REPORT: UPCOMING VINTAGE COLLECTION VEHICLE(S) MSRP

"As a follow up to our previous reports, it looks like that the pricing for the rumored upcoming Luke’s X-wing and the E9 Medium Vintage vehicle are both set at $99.99 each. These are in fact two separate vehicles, each with their own product code and both are packed 2 per case."

I hate to sound like the crotchety old man, but wasn't there a time when a medum vehicle in TVC packaging went for under $30?

I can't even begin to wonder how a $99 Luke X-wing would be justified unless it was brand new perfect scale molding with electronics. I personally believe that the Vintage Biggs X-Wing/Trench Run mold is so close to perfect that an upgrade isn't all that necessary. Just re-release that mold as Red Leader, Red 2, Red 4, Red 6, Blue Leader and one more Blue fighter.

I wonder which knucklehead is going to try to be the first to collect all 3,600 variants of this.

There's a guy here in LA who I bet might try that. He's got the money to burn.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2019 TVC Wave 3 (aka New TVC Wave 6)
« on: August 2, 2019, 01:49 PM »
I might have to look that up.  I've got loads of VOTC Stormtroopers and Scout Troopers that could probably use the treatment just from having looked at some of my carded figures that I was looking through earlier this week.

Continuing the discussion, I'm still not sure if I've got the process down pat yet. There has absolutely been a remarkable difference in the figures I've Hydrogen Peroxided in general, but some still maintain a greenish tinge. Also, it seems that the scout troopers I'm nearly complete whitened are yellowing already after a week. Trying to let the figure soak longer, see if that makes any difference. I've got tons of time.

I like that the e-tailers are all listing these as wave 1. :)

Given the rules of color matching, my buddy did the math and says the number is 5040 different combinations.

Regardless of how people felt about Revan, I bet it still would have been a highly sought after figure.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?

I'm so confused.

This past year we have been getting arguably the best product ever out of Hasbro in terms of quality. However, I have yet to miss Hasbro's SDCC Comic-con panel in more than 10 years and with respect to all the lovely people with Hasbro I had conversations with, this was hands-down the most lack luster panel ever. I suppose we were due, but still. Makes me wonder what's down the road.

Star Wars isn't the only license Hasbro owns, so I can't blame them for broadening the projects reach. The only real bummer is that it could be years until we get another SW Haslab item unless they decide to run different items concurrently.

Less than 19K and 3 days to go to unlock the last stretch goal. Fingers crossed!

$17k now.  What’s the last stretch goal?

I think at $200k you get a digital version of the book as well.

Yes! And it crossed the 200K line with more than half a day to go!
