Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Busts
« on: September 22, 2005, 02:27 PM »

The Gentle Giant Episode II C-3P0 mini bust that was shown at the summer conventions finally has a home. With a run of 2500 expected, the first 1500 will be available exclusively at the "Art of Star Wars Exhibition" in Singapore in November. Can't make it to Signapore? You're still in luck - 500 have been allocated to be sold in the UK and another 500 will be sold in the USA via an exclusive outlet (most likely StarWarsShop.com)!

The Offical Site put up some great pictures of the 2006 sets, including this better shot of the new LEGO IG-88 and Dengar!

You don't even have to post pictures, just talking about army building habits can get you hate-mail from people who want to call you a scalper or a hoarder or something.   ::)

The reason Bill listen is one of the main reasons I've held off on posting my collection room photos.  I've got some pretty sweet stuff and I don't want a lot of strangers knowing what I've got and where I've got it.  I also don't want to deal with the hassel of the "grabbers" trying to buy figures off me and such.

I've been meaning to post pictures here for quite some time, but I'm just too lazy to do it I guess...  :P

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Wal Mart Sucks
« on: September 22, 2005, 11:26 AM »
So, a friend alerted me to a new trend in Wal-Mart sales...

Wal-Mart Canada has decided to enter the, er... "marital aids" and um... "adult devices" market.

Wal-Mart sets off bad vibes

Toys and Wal-Mart?

1.  How are they going to get away with this?

2.  Will suburbia let them get away with it?

This seems like such an ass-backwards move for Wal-Mart.  I still don't get it.  They dropped Maxim (claiming it was too racy) and they dropped a Pregnant Barbie Doll (claiming it was too risque since she isn't married).  They are constantly editing Movies, Video Games, and CDs for content, but somehow they don't have a problem with selling these sorts of, um, "products"?

::)

ps.
I hate Wal-Mart.  ;)

I'm thinking about making another Microman Scout figure for this auction, do you guys think that's a good idea?

Good idea. I'd buy one of your Micromen even it wasn't for charity.

Yeah, I vote for the Microman Scout too, that figure was incredible!

I belong to a ticket buyers group with some guys at work (9 of us) and we had our Season Ticket Draw last night.  Once again this year I bought in for 4 games.

October 25   vs. VANCOUVER
November 25   vs. ST. LOUIS
January 30   vs. DETROIT
March 21      vs. CALGARY

(The Red Wings was my #1 pick ;D)

The Wild have looked pretty good so far in their pre-season outings, but holy crap have there been a LOT of penalties though.  I guess it's all the "adjusting to the new rules" that's going on...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Covert Ops Clone Trooper
« on: September 21, 2005, 12:45 PM »
I you think the Covert Ops was bad, look at this: http://www.creaturecantina.com/news_images/2005/0921/candy-corn.JPG

Sadly, that is more movie accurate than either the Utapau Shadow Clone or the Covert Ops Clone - at least there were some Yellow and Orange colored Clones in the movie.  If fact, if you got replaced the yellow with white and added a few more Orange highlights, it'd actually be nice!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Do you display more than one...
« on: September 21, 2005, 10:02 AM »
Does anyone else feel the need to display two of the same figure if more than one display option is available?

Yes, absolutely  :-[

Off the top of my head, I know I've got:

- 2x OTC Dagobah Luke , one handstanding and one with Yoda in the backpack.

- 2x #35 Palpy, one posed with "good" head & saber and a second posed with the evil head & force lightning.

- 2x #50 Anakin, one displayed with full robes and one Crispy/crippled

- 2x Clone Evo Pack, one with the Ep2 Yellow Clone Helmet and one with the Ep2 Clone Pilot Helmet

- 4x #6 Clone Trooper, two with the "imperial" shoulder pad and two with the "clean" shoulder pad

- 2x Saga Padme Amidala (Lars Homestead), one with robe on and one with robe off

And there may be a few others that I'm forgetting...  ;)
