Bossk was always one of the coolest figures I had when I was a kid.  He was the second mail-a-way figure, one of the mini-rigs was billed as his personal ship, and he was a cool looking alien!

I always thought the POTF2 version was a nice improvement over the vintage figure but the VTSC version (now available in Saga Legends) is even better!

I also put Bossk in the cap-2 mini rig during vintage time.
I agree vtsc Bossk is a cool evolution of the character, the buttons on his pants show great detail.

Vintage Bossk will be remembered as the only closed mouth representation of this character.

The POTF 2 version had a terrific rifle, because the strap could hang off his left shoulder like the film. The newer vintage version has the strange straps on the legs that don't go with the detail on his pants.  The Clone Wars version may be a better representation, although its an animated representation.

I love me some Bossk, because Trandoshans get allllllll da ladies.  Jockin' the Wookiees and slappin' the ho's is livin' Trandoshan style.

I loved Bossk as a kid, and I don't really know why because the aliens weren't always my favorite characters.  He and Snaggletooth (blue) both had the cool grin thing going on though for some reason.  I liked that.  I also had a love of all things Godzilla, and I used Bossk as like Godzilla's human-communicator.  Weird?  Yes.  I was a strange kid who morphed into an even more strange adult I guess.

The modern versions of Bossk have all been pretty good...  I even liked his Saga resculpt, which was a decent upgrade over the POTF2 figure.  NOthing compares to the Vintage sculpt of the character though, which features a lot of depth, realism, and detail.  The paint, the open mouth...  There could probably be improvements, or added features, but they'd be minor.

There are 3 characters in the SW world that I have to have definitive versions of at some point, and which I try to do a little character-focused collecting and buy any goofy thing that has that character's likeness.  Bossk is my main one though, and so I have lots of weird Bossk stuff around.

He'll always have a proud place in front of the other Bounty Hunters too, on my shelves.  He could beat up on any of them I'm sure.

BTW, a cool mag that used to come out back in the day gave a deck-by-deck breakdown of Bossk's ship, The Hound's Tooth.  It's maybe the coolest diagram of a SW ship ever.  :)  From Wookiee skin rugs to their stuffed heads mounted in his living area...  Bossk is just a lizard-man badass.

I always wondered why Bossk was smiling, Jesse is right, he gets all the ladies.

My only gripe on the modern version is the yellow is a little too washed out, needs to be a little more orange

I love the Hunters though...

Bossk was and still is one of my Fav bounty hunters. I thought it was intersting how the lizard arms and legs seemed fuller than the suite, though I know it's just a guy in a flight suit. I notice weird odd production stuff like that ;)
After reading the three part paperback series Bounty Hunter Wars, I found him to be a very intersting character. How he took over the bounty hunter guilde (after killing his father). It was cool how he and Boba had a long history trying to out do eachother and seemed to have a mutual respect.
My only real nit-pik with the modern fig is the hose attachment restricts his turning ability to his left; he can turn to his right easier. But the coloring and detail of his scaley sckin is pretty good with that open mouth snarl! The only modifications I could see would a more movable ball torso and ball socket hips so he could get into a more crouched ready-to-pounce stance.

He was the first figure that I had mailed to me.  I always liked that figure.  The Saga/Vintage version is awesome and I have to buy the Boba Fett Battle Pack to get the CW version of him along with the awesome Slave 1.

I think we all need to take a peek at the original version and give those Kenner sculptors a round of applause on this one.  There are a lot of subtle details on the costume (like those buttons on the legs and the hose on his waist) that are present but not painted.

Bossk is unique in that I think we can agree there has never been a BAD version of this character.

Now the real question is it "bawsk" or "bosskay?"  I have heard it pronounced both ways...

I've never heard the "bosskay" one.  Just "bawsk".  So I've always called him that.

"Boss K?" What is that, Pig Latin? That's right up there with "at at" instead of "ay tee ay tee."

I loved my vintage Bossk, too. There were very few alien characters in TESB so he stood out.

I thought it was funny that Bossk was a christian. I mean look at the Kenner figure. Dude wears a cross. (Of all the detail they left unpainted, they painted that on!)

Seriously, I think they sort of overthought the VOTC version in one aspect, the seperately molded hose on his chest that limits some movement.

I wanted a purple suited marvel comics repaint of the VOTC version.

Former JediDefender Sandwhich-Maker Famine and I have a gag where we refer to him as "Boosk" after some dude on here made a typo talking about the VTSC figure.

Bossk is one of the only modern figures that I own every single-carded version of, for some reason. Obviously the VTSC 2007 version trumps them all, and is probably in my top 10 favorite figures. Still unsure why I picked up the 2004 version since the only true improvement from the POTF2 version was in the articulaton (and even that was kind of negated by the goofy stance). I basically use the old ones as random Trandoshan thugs since all of the Trandoshan baddies in Jedi Knight II looked exactly like Bossk.

Count me in for some Bossk love, too!  He and IG-88 are still my favorite hunters, although I Bossk wins hands-down from a fleshed-out backstory perspective.  Unless there is more out there about IG-88 that I am not aware of, which is quite possible.

I really need to track down the modern definitive examples of these guys while they are still relatively easy to obtain...

Trandoshans FTW!   ;D

vintage paint job shows Bossk face skin lighter than limbs (this was the impression of the photo / pre thx)
in the vtsc and saga legends version the limbs and face are almost the same tone, only limbs look darker for the prescence of a great number of scales on them.
