You have a wonderful imagination...that's what I think distinguishes you from the rest of the customizers here. Just keep that imagination...that's the key. :)

Yeah, Chewie. The rest of us are unimaginative, talentless hacks.  ;D

Seriously though, Mubass looks great! I was wondering what I could do with those Sahara wraps, and now I know. This is an amazing custom...the paint app really adds a vile, scary quality to him. Amazing!

The only thing that throws me a bit is his boots...they look spit-shined and new, but the rest of his outfit is heavily weathered. What's your thinking on that?

I'm in favor of mentioning the goons. We may need Fardle (Ha ha ha...Fardle.) to take care of that big Trandoshan for us.

I'm also in favor of giving more info on Fett. If Lucen's reaction is anything like what I think it is, I say that's a good spring-board to us saying, "Exactly what have I gotten myself into here?" and pressing for more info on Doc's invention. I wouldn't let on that the bounty hunter may have been looking for us...for all they know, he's there for them and I'd push that fact...that makes them desperate...desperate for the ship and piloting skills we have to offer.

Of course, it'd be pretty funny if Lucen's response was "Feldercarb! It's Jodo Kast! We're bein' 'unted by bloody Jodo Kast! He'll trip and fall down an access shaft and that'll be that!"

That'll derail my plans but good.  :P

Photonovels and Movies / Re: RE#18 - DARK EXCHANGE

I guess part of my criticism of the Dathomir chapters centers on our perceptions of Ventress...I thought of her as fairly powerful...not to the level of Dooku, but her ability to hold her own against Obi-Wan at certain points lends her some credibility.   I would have liked to have seen more action between her and Sriadne, at least.

The other place I thought Dathomir lost us a bit was in the previous chapter when you showed the witch in the last panel...she hadn't really become an integral part of the story yet; I think it ruined a great reveal showing her so soon. We should have seen her only through the characters eyes...it would have made her more frightening, and the build-up would have been nice as until she attacked, she would have been mere supposition and rumor on the characters part. (Sure, we'd seen her in your thread, but some of us had forgotten.)

Other than those two quibbles I liked Dathomir, and especially the intro of Freelo to the series.

Speaking of Freelo, you've hit the right balance for him. He's comic relief without being an annoying buffoon like Jar Jar. I also like that you haven't portrayed him as cowardly in every situation...Although he fled from Siriadne on Dathomir (who wouldn't?) in Dark Exchange he's quite willing to fight, even if he proves totally inept at it.

It's been a fun ride so far...can't wait to see where you take us.

Yeah, so I didn't get them posted before I left... but that just means more for when I return, right?

Darth Ripley: Glad you like Krell...when creating a new clone I try to imagine an environment and campaign for them first, and usually that spurs me to better designs. Krell was imagined as being in a rainy, moutainous terrain. Hence the poncho and the coiled rappeling rope. Eventually, I'll make a small squad for him. I really must find time to do a photonovel like Chewie. I only hope if I ever get the chance, it'll turn out half as good.

As for the Marine, I thought about cutting the kneepads off a snowtrooper...but decided then I'd have mangled snowtrooper legs. I'll probably end up making the kneepads from Epoxy on this one, then on future Marines I'll just use the Snowtrooper legs from the get-go. I've also considered Clone Pilot legs with the boots cut off and replaced with Snowtrooper boots. Anyone got any spare clone pilots?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I love that door gunner. I'm going to have to borrow that bit of inspiration. I think I may add a kama to mine, and maybe some web gear so he can be suspended from the custom gunship I'm working on.

I agree that the "Slice" GI Joe body makes a great SW body. I have a few of those I may use for Mandalorians or other Mercs.

Also, don't downplay your early work, there's some really great stuff there! I'd seen some of those before but never realized they were yours. I'm especially fond of that black and maroon battle droid. Nice job!

I'm dying to know where the shoulder gear for your green clone came from. It looks familiar, but I can't place it...

The Colossus is excellent...now I know what to do with the extra Mr. Sinisters I have from my building three Sentinels.

I love the paintjob on the Union Jack, but the spidet pattern kind of mars this one a bit...still, it's a great job and you should be very proud of your work.

Now let's see some Star Wars customs!   :D

Hey Smarty,

I really like the design on the girl in the clone armor; it very much fits in with the sort of designs we've seen on some of the conceptual clones for Ep. III.

The standout here for me, though, is the Dash Rendar backpack on the Dug...great idea, and one I'm going to borrow. It really does seem like a weapon designed for that species.

As for Greenday, normally I wouldn't agree with putting anyone's info on a public message board...but as he's a very special little creep, I say he's got it coming. You may want to edit it though, Smarty...I'm not sure if you could be held responsible for some sort of privacy violation.

Thanks for the feedback, JJ! The idea of adding wires is a good one I never thought of...I'll probably do that to my next WEG custom.

The ideas on the Assassin droids are good as well. The sep weapon was just for the pic, really...I'll give him a custom blaster eventually. I also like the jetpack idea...I'll implement that soon.

Red5sixx-Good to see you pop in, you need to comment on stuff more regularly! How much for all of it...that's funny!

Amazing work, Glassman. I tend to agree on the ROTS packaging...way too busy for my tastes. The saga cards have a lot more class, and fine customs like these deserve it.

Those Tonnika sisters are simply amazing.

Is that Owen's torture table?

The droid looks great, Chewie...a truly original design that fits in well with the SW universe. Really sinister, and the weathered paint job is amazing and incredibly realistic. The droid could be in the Lucasfilm archives, it looks so real. Some of the stuff you come up with really blows me away.

I think part of the reason you're so prolific and creative is the photonovel series. Your story calls for a torture droid, so you have to create a convincing one. Voila! Necessity truly is the mother of invention.

Looks like Titan A.E. walkers to me.

Very cool stuff, Fritz. I'm not sure I meantioned it before, but I love the dead trooper series. It's something I had thought of myself at one point but never tried it; now that I see how well it can be done maybe I'll give it a go.

That Pit Fighter Luke made me laugh out loud.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Fodder Alert!
« on: January 14, 2006, 01:42 PM »
From what I heard a certain number of packages samples exist, but no actual production run. At the end Palisades was hurting so bad and had made so many product overruns that they ended up blowing out for nothing, that they never started production until they had enough pre-orders to justify it.

Trust me, you can rifle through the dumpster outside of Palisades and find all the unsold Palz, Crittaz and Freakables you could want. They made a lot of BAD product decisions.

It's disappointing, because I was looking forward to these for custom fodder, and was also looking forward to their Aqua Teen Hunger Force line.

If packaged versions exist, they'll probably show up on toyrocket or bluedottoyz or one of those toy companies that does buy-outs.

Unfortunately these will never see the light of day. Palisades didn't get enough pre-orders to justify making these, and went out of business just after the first of the year.
