Just found a pretty sweet deal on Shop Disney if anyone has been on the fence about ordering their new Galaxy's Edge Black Series Box Sets.  All 3 sets are currently available on the Shop Disney site (First Order, Droid Factory, Galactic Creatures).  The figure sets are $75 each and the Creatures set is $35, so it comes to a little over $200 with shipping.

However, if you don't have a Disney credit card, you can sign up for one on the site and get $100 statement credit.  You can use the card immediately (links to your Disney account), then apply these codes at checkout:

SHIPMAGIC gets you free shipping
DRVCMEMBER gets you another 10% off

I just ordered all three sets for $166, so with the statement credit that's just $66 for 15 figures.   :o

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: SW.com Bring Home the Bounty Reveals

I guess I am an idiot for wanting to stay employed and not just ducking out of a scheduled conference call with a client to preorder this latest headache. Foolishly assumed it might last til my call was over but I guess not. Now I’ll just have to hope it comes back into stock “one day” like that Bad Batch 4-pack I’m never going to see again either.  ::)

I was ready right at noon and still missed it, so even if you had ducked out you probably still wouldn't have gotten one.  Literally just up for a few minutes.

Already sold out, I guess.  Says "Currently Unavailable"

It was up for almost 2 minutes.  You didn't get one?  ::)

I hope more of these become available.  I missed them the first time around.  :'(

Jeff - there should be a small notch in the main ramp with a tab slightly protruding up in the extension. Pulling down and away on that tab should extend the ramp.

I have pulled, I have pried, I have tried to stick a mini flat-head screwdriver in there to coax the bottom ramp out of the large ramp but no dice.  I'm wondering if some stray epoxy got in there or something because that little bastard will not budge from his snug nest inside the main ramp.   :-\

Have you tried heating it up with a hair dryer to loosen the plastic, then pulling or prying?  The heat tends to make the plastic a little more forgiving without hurting the sculpt or the paint.  I haven't opened mine yet, but starting to get nervous about all the panel issues.

Surprisingly easy to order this round.  I was busy at noon when they went up, but checked back a few times and managed to get 2x Axes.  About an hour later the first two were back in stock, so nabbed those too.  As Rob said, use that red card to save 5% and free shipping!

They look great!  I look forward to hearing celebrations from the 2-3 people that got them prior to preorders selling out.

Wow, this is one of the laziest efforts I’ve ever seen from Hasbro. Repainted Chewie with a new belt/chest piece that they couldn’t even bother to add paint apps to. I’m thinking I can safely pass on this one.

Well, it's no Zaalbar...

Why would they create a comic version that most people don't care about when they could just as easily create a TBOBF version that everyone can relate to?  The cynical side of me thinks this is just to double dip where they come out with the comic version today and then tweak it to be TBOBF version in 18 months.  ::)

Maybe its negativity on my part, but I'm at a loss as to why they would go this route.

It is absolutely this.  Maybe sprinkle in a little "It will take 1-2 years to design and produce a better one" and you have it right there Dave.  Why would they ever create the ultimate deluxe version on the first try when they can get some easy repaint sales now and still get the same people to buy a better TBOBF version later on?  I don't think that's conspiracy, I think its just their business model.  But I've always been a sucker for variations and different versions of figures, so I'll still end up buying both.

Thing is, with the retail environment the way it is and stuff preordered so far in advance, they kind of have collectors at their mercy.  Sometimes a figure gets an upgrade, a rerelease, or an archive pack, but sometimes you never see that figure again.  You mix the scared collectors with the impatient collectors and voila - sales!

Its cool enough for me - I'll buy one.  I'm starting to fall in line with Nick on getting tired of all the complaints.  It's not perfect, but we just had a Hasbro update last week with people crying that there weren't enough new Black Series figures on the way.  Days later we get another figure announcement and...its not good enough.  I don't fault people for voicing their opinions and I do think this could have been done better/differently, but the negativity is really draining me today.

I don't think it's a big deal that they originally started as a possible Haslab and they decided to go the pre-order route with this.

I didn't think it was a big deal either, though when a spokesperson doesn't tell the truth about it then I think it becomes a bigger deal.  They could have just said "it was planned for this, then we moved it to that," but instead we get outright denial that it was ever Haslab, and then when evidence pops up it makes you wonder if you can trust anything that's ever said.  You combine this with things like the accidental Rancor announcement that was immediately backtracked on and it just fosters negativity with your consumer base.

I know I'm biased, but I blame Hasbro for treating their business like its some high security government agency or a Summer blockbuster where knowing something might ruin the plot and somehow reduce sales.  Just be honest and transparent with this stuff.  They've always tried to be ultra secretive and punitive towards anyone who tries to share information before they've had a chance to announce it and that's never sat well with me.

Unfortunately the Throne Room probably only has five figures that interact with it during the movies.  I'd love to see this element built in to a Death Star playset, but I'm really not that interested on its own.

+1  I want playsets that let me stash a lot of different figures in there.  Cantina, Sandcrawler, Rebel Briefing, Ewok Village, Echo Base, etc.  Jabba's Throne room is ideal, though even that I'm a little less interested in because of the barge.  I wouldn't want a big playset for Dagobah or Emperor's Throne Room or Ahch-To Island because I'm only going to dedicate a few figures to something that takes up a big chunk of space.

Once they tried to deliver it and no one answered the door, I was able to have them drop it off at a local pick up site.

Okay, thanks for clarifying.  On my shipment it says "Signature Required," so I've been wondering if they would just leave it without a signature or not.  I have read about other people coming home to find it at their doorstep, so not sure if that's strictly enforced or if there is a way to bypass it...

RIP Ivan Reitman - The legendary director of some classic favorites like Animal House, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Twins, Dave, Kindergarten Cop, etc.  Sounds like he at least passed peacefully in his sleep.   :(

I don’t get it though.  I ordered a pair and didn’t put down any deposit.  So there’s nothing to refund and it’s not crowdfunded.

So, the most likely scenario is that it was intended to be a Haslab project despite comments to the contrary and that information did not get removed from their communications.  Wouldn't surprise me at all if they accelerated this when the Rancor didn't move forward, since that likely left them with excess production capacity and a profit/sales gap to make up for.  And no surprise that they just went ahead and launched it versus going through Haslab again, which could have given it a chance to fail.  It would be nice if companies were just up front about this kind of stuff, but they're probably more concerned about saving face after the Rancor fiasco.
