Thanks for the tip!  That's a little steep for me, but tempting for Megs.  If they end up doing Soundwave or Shockwave, I'll probably cave.   :P

Just an FYI - not sure if these are new or not, but I haven't seen them before:  Target Plymouth had a voyager class autobot - some kind of orange rescue helecoptor.  They also had a leader class night watch optimus that looked pretty cool.  I work right by there, so let me know if you want me to pick up either for you.  ;)

Congrats on finally getting your Screamer Justin.  Glad you like him.

My MP Megs + upgrade kit just showed up at my desk an hour or so ago.  Thank god they remembered to put my name on the shipping label.   :-X

What a mess that would have been...

Where did you get MP Megatron?  I didn't even know that was available!  Is it a Japanese exclusive?  Are there any other MP formers I should know about?  I just have Optimus, my alts, and Screamer.

My bad.

Either way, Favre is 43-5 when the temperature is below 34 degrees.  I'd say that's pretty consistent.

2 of said losses are said playoff games...

And your point is?  I hate to break it to you, but 11 teams lose a playoff game every year and 20 teams don't even make the playoffs.  By definition, a playoff loss means you went further than at least 20 other teams.

Regardless, I really can't see why anyone would be anti-favre, even if you're not a Packer fan.  No one plays the game with his enthusiasm, he never misses a game, he's a good role model, and he has made some amazing plays and comebacks over the years.

I never said the media doesn't fawn over him.  I said the media fawns over Brady just as much as they do Favre now.  I suggest you try to read posts, take a minute to understand what is said, then post a rational response.  ;)

Let's look at a few facts here:

- Favre is not lucky or mediocre.  The Packers have had ONE losing season under his leadership out of 16 seasons.  Find me another QB playing today with anything similar.

- He does not choke 95% of the time.  You might need to take remedial math.  If anything, I think Favre has more comeback 4th quarter victories than anyone playing right now.

- Does he have a lot of interceptions?  You bet!  Guess who else cares more about winning than his own personal stats?  Favre had a ton of interceptions because he was the only playmaker on the team and was doing what he could to win games.  If anything, he's probably guilty of taking on too much of the responsibility for winning.

- He has not had great receivers to work with, nor a decent running game for most of his career.  Walker? Ahman Green? Levens?  Favre's play made these guys better, not the other way around.  Jennings has been good this year, but it remains to be seen if he's that good or if Favre is making him look that good.  What has Walker done in Denver? What has Green done in Houston? Freeman couldn't even get a job after he left the Packers!  Has Ryan Grant been doing well? Heck yeah.  Were the Packers dominating the first half of the season without him?  Ooops, yes they were.   :-[

- Yeah he admitted to taking painkillers.  Big whoop.  I'd bet every player in the league takes something for pain following their weekly punishment on the field.  Well, maybe not kickers. Anyway, its not the same as taking steroids - I don't get how you think his play was so much better because of an addiction to pain killers?  The guy comfessed to a personal problem and that's all you've got against him.

- Favre isn't trotting his wife around for media attention.  If they want to interview her, that's their choice.  She happens to come to most of his games and I've seen her interviewed twice in 16 years.  Wow, that's some heavy media coverage!  Maybe his girlfriends just don't come to the games.  There certainly isn't as much of a story to them as someone surviving breast cancer.  I never said Brady slept with every woman out there, but I don't know a lot of real credible guys that have dumped an ex while she was pregnant.  Isn't Gisele pregnant too?  But they're not married?  No offense, but that track record is not likely to win him popularity contests as a family man.

Brady may not always have had great receivers either, but look at what he can do when he gets a Moss - a perfect season so far.  Favre's never had anyone like that. I can't believe anyone thinks that Dillon and Maroney haven't helped his game in the past.  These guys are top tier RBs - Dillon has several rushing records and Maroney scored what 15 TDs last year?  Yeah, he's been quiet this year, but that's because they don't need him with Moss scoring 23 TDs.  Brady also has the advantage of having a coach who is considered a coaching genius - Favre hasn't had very noteworthy guys calling the plays.  I'll also add that Favre has been around a lot longer and is in the twilight of his career, so he's had a lot longer to grow on people.

Vision looks good...the rest...meh

Agree with you there - I was excited to be getting a warbird, but I don't think they did a very good job on her.   :-\  Other two are just redos or not neccessary.  Seriously, how many issues was spidey in the iron spidey suit?

That's about right, though the media sucks off Brady as much as they love Favre these days.   ::)

No way in hell is that true...it is not even close.  The difference is that Favre is a mediocre QB who is one hell of a leader and has set all of these records based on pain pills and sheer luck and almost every single announcer out there will give him a hand job if they had the chance.

Brady is probably the best QB that has ever played the game and deserves every blow job he can get...

Answer me this...how many times has Tom Brady's Girlfriend been interviewed during a game?

I don't think a mediocre QB would have records for most TD passes, most wins, longest starting streak, etc.  Favre does all this with jack for receivers, no consistent running game, a suspect o-line, but he's just lucky? You're chalking this up to luck?  Favre has earned his props and the fact that you have to keep going back to an addiction to painkillers as the worst thing he's ever done is a testiment to his character.

Is Brady a great QB? Sure, but the facts are that he just hasn't been around as long, he has a mastermind coach, and he has receiver talent up the wazoo.  I also think Maroney and Dillon are better than anything the Packers have put on the field since Favre took over.  As for interviewing his girlfriend - maybe its just too hard to figure out who he's dating impregnated at any given time?  He still gets slobbered all over by the announcers in every Pats game I've seen this year.

Oh...Screamer is now listed as NOT SOLD ONLINE  I wonder what went wrong with this exclusive?  Stores refuse to stock it and their website now refuses to sell it?  ???

I don't get what's going on here either.  The package also states "Wal-Mart" Exclusive - I wonder why it isn't in broader distribution?  There could have just been more demand than anticipated or production problems, but this seems very odd.

BTW, I opened screamer up last night and he is worth every penny.  Holy crap what a cool figure.  He fits perfectly withthe Alt line and the articulation is ridiculous.  Very very very very cool!

True.  We've seen frequent re-use of parts at least by toy-biz for many of the figures, so there were cost saving measures available.

I do know I'll go nowhere near a 6" line of Star Wars figures.  Nuh-uh, not gonna happen.

The 3.75" marvel legends are very disconcerting on the other hand.  Must say no.

I'm with you.  No room for a full line of 6" star wars.  I want the smaller line of marvel, but we'll see what they come up with.  If they are cool, I will probably have to at least get the Avengers.   ;D

Umm...trifold leather straight from my trip to Italy a few years back.  ITs held up well, but the picture-flap-thingie needs to be replaced.  Man-bag?  Get real.  Its a purse.

Sweet!  I got the Black Panther and Ant Man/Strange sets at Walmart last week on clearance for $5  ???  Will likely be getting that 4pack, not sure about Spidey vs foom though - already have an iron man and don't need/want a foom.

Pats and Pack will win Sunday.  One game will be a blowout, the other will be competitive.  I'll let others figure out which.

And then we'll have (not the original) LT bitching and moaning and calling the Pats classless.

And then we'll have two weeks of the media sucking Brett Favre off.

And then we'll have 95% of the country rooting for the NFC team.

And then we'll have the only 19-0 team in NFL history...

That's about right, though the media sucks off Brady as much as they love Favre these days.   ::)

Ordered my MP Megs w/upgrade kit on Friday from TFsource last Friday and received my shipping notice today.

Killer price on a killer toy  :)

Justin - anyword yet on your Screamer from WM?  I've heard they've been in and out of stock of him so you may have to wait a bit, but that doesn't seem right especially after they already charged you...

It finally showed up Monday and I went to get it today.  I like saving on shipping, but I must have waited a good 30 minutes for the WM folks to figure out the process.  I checked before I got the notice last week and they were able to look it up in minutes via my name.  Today I went in with a copy of the email and barcode and it took them forever to figure out how to get in and scan it, then they complained that not all of my email was there ...hellow, use my name and picture ID and go get my package you idiots!   ::)

Screamer is very nice.  Haven't cracked him open yet, but he looks sweet int he package.  I like having him to scale with my alternators, though I'm still undecided if he's worth $50.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Terminator the Series
« on: January 15, 2008, 09:48 PM »
A couple things bothered me about last night show.

When the Terminator blew up in 1999, how did parts (head and rest of the body) end up coming through to 2007? I saw the head come through but the body too???

And since when can the body move and operate independently of the head, let alone track down said missing head?

Funniest part - Sarah dumping Cameron out the window onto the car.  ;D

Best part - Cameronator in a mini-skirt  ;)

I had a few problems with this as well.  Near as I can tell, only biological matter can time travel, or at least things surrounded by biological matter (which is an odd premise in the first place).  Since they were in the process of shooting the terminator in 99, he wasn't quite blown up by the time they time traveled.  The termy got caught in the wave, but because he had metal exposed (and was being shot by odd laser I guess) he blew up.

As for the head controlling the body - that doesn't seem so odd or out of the realm of possibility.  If the head is a hub, a wireless connection from the head to limbs makes a lot of sense for battle - machines could keep coming even if wounded or blown apart.  Saves skynet from having to make a new termy,

After watching last night's episode I have decided no longer feel the need to waste an hour watching this crapfest of a show.

After reading your multiple posts I have decided no longer feel the need to waste time rereading multiple posts from you.   ;)

I thought the show was okay - I'll keep watching for now.
