Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Guitar Hero / Rock Band
« on: January 1, 2009, 12:16 PM »
I've asked this question alot on a bunch of forums, and yahoo answers over the last few days. I get alot of answers. But I don't htink any of them have yet been the same. I got RB2 for PS3 for Christmas, we couldn't pas it up with the awesome deal TRU was having. I've never played RB 1 on my system so there is no save data. If I go out an buy RB1, do I have to play the game through to get all the songs, then export them to my RB2 set? Which really should be my 1st question, when I export the songs, I no longer need the disc for RB1 right? And if that's the case, couldn't I just rent a RB1 game and get the songs? No, I'm not looking to rip off the company that makes the game, but I don't want to use PSN for paying for, and downloading songs, until I know how many of those are included on RB1.

I drive a focus. It's really fast, and fun for a small car. I will, however, admit that I get an unnatural urge to throw red shells at the cars I pass on the highway.

The Legacy Collection / Re: The Big Vehicles - Did You Buy Them?
« on: November 5, 2008, 10:45 PM »
It's not that I don't think a new AT-AT doesn't have it's merits. BUt I really feel it's an FU to the fans that shelled out 100 for the Endor version not too awful long ago. Even after the excitement of POTF2 wore off and I was out again, I remember seeing this repacked behemoth at a TRU sometime during it's initial neoclassic run. I couldn't believe they wanted 74.99 for it. And to this day I don't think it's worth that. Then again in 06, as an avid collector, I made this the 1st vehicle I passed on after dropping my jaw at the 89.99 then 99.99 price tag. Anyways, I feel like I was smart by doing so. Eventually I'd find one from 97 in a comic shop for $20 and snag it as mine, but many collectors did shell out that money at TRU and I've seen pic of some collections that have 2 and up to 10 of these monsters. If I had that invested, the last thing I'd want to see is Hasbro up the ante on this. Which again, isn't saying they shouldn't, but it's just disheartening to know that any vehicle is game, and my old "enter vehicle name here" might not be the cool one available. God knows what I'd do if they ever scaled the Republic Gunship, I've got 4 of those! (j/k, I'm perfectly fine with my stuff)

To partake in the other aspect of the conversation, I don't have the BMF since I'm okay with the one I have, and I got an ATTE at midnight madness, I may pick up a second in that battlepack that comes with a **** load of figures for the same price. ( if it's the same price)

Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

Just the other day I got a Boushh, Boba Fett, and IG88, with two old joes, for 1.04 on ebay. Shipped it was like $6, SO basically a little over a buck a figure. I was happy! ;D

Not really. There's always a select few pieces I'm looking for , like the Triceraton, and foot solders, mousers, and maybe figures you don't see in my pics. As for taking an entire collection, I'm pretty good as is. Actualy I don't really even collect them. Most of what you see here is my childhood collection, mixed with 2 or 3 modern ones bought for me as gifts, and the Krang that I got off ebay. I will admit to being bad about not being able to walk away from 2 dollar toys when I see them at flea markets and comic shops, that's how I got small collections of AD&D, Willow, GI JOE, Lion Force Voltron, Mask, M.U.S.C.L.E., and what I'd love to find: Dino Riders! But other than Star Wars, I don't really activly collect any other line.

Collections / Re: My Collection

Very nice collection. The bedsheets, carded vintage, walking R2, and your loose near complete vintage is great!. Complementing it with the ever classic wallpaper of carded modern, and some nice 12" Bounty Hunters. Thanks for sharing. :D

LEGO / Re: Legos
« on: November 2, 2008, 08:29 PM »
I've thought of selling a couple original castle sets (Yellow castle, jousting tournament, soldiers set, etc.) if I could find someone willing to pay whatever its valued at, but Ebay seems very tough to follow with Legos and value.  I've got a ton and honestly should just start unloading what I can.  I'm probably sitting on some kind of goldmine with all this crap.

You probably are sitting on a gold mine. The yellow castle is worth quite a bit, so are the vintage mini-figs.

As a kid I enjoyed the castle sets of the late 80's and into the early 90's. Last winter I got into my old lego's after playing with them with my son and rebuilt these sets.

and then, since I was psyched about LEGO again, I bought this set on ebay for about $30

and this one for about the same price

I'm very into vintage TMNT. While I'm behind Playmates decision to release the classics from this line in order to celebrate the anniversary, I do wish they had gone the route Hasbro did with GI Joe, and Mattell did with MOTU and created new modern sculpts based on the key points of the figures, and how they related to their cartoon counterparts, to complement the comic book ones that were sold a few months ago. I'm not going to be buying them en masse, as I do have generally collector quality toys from the vintage line, as well as my played with ones, but an army builder never can have to many foot soldiers.  ;)

You know, I never owned a TMNT figure... did like the original NES game though.
That game was way too hard for it's target audience. While I really liked it, and do still have a copy, I tend to get stuck on the second underwater level, trying to undo those bombs is really hard.

Here's my turtles
