OK, all we know so far is that we're probably getting the Vader artwork on a boring cardback for the Black Series 3.75" figures.

What are your hopes and dreams for this line?  What is the one thing that would kill it for you?  What is the one thing that would make it the greatest line ever?

For me, jumping to a MSRP of >$10 would kill my enthusiasm.  $10 is really the ultimate cap for these and I'd be willing to give up some articulation (down to the 9-11 points range - I'm fine with no ankles and cut elbows sometimes) if it meant shaving a buck or two off the price.

Make it the Greatest line ever?  Why the debut of the Tonnika Sisters of course!  Those would be the ultimate "15th Cantina Guy".  ;)

Class II vehicles.  Jango's Slave I was shown, but in a new triangular-shaped packaging with the Vader design.

[sarcasm]Good news everyone - the super-popular mini-Slave I is being carried forward into the Fall Class II assortment!  [/sarcasm]

Triangular shaped packaging?  I'm interested to see what those look like...  doesn't sound like something that will stack nicely on retailer shelves.

Saga Legends / Saga Legends "Mission Series" Figure 2-Packs

A new line called "Mission Series" was shown. This is a 2-figure open-boxed set with a window flap. Packs on display include:
- Vader and Interrogation Droid
- Battle Droid and another character

I have no idea what these are (Black Series or Movie Heroes).  Could be really interesting if they are new (like the Kmart Endor two-packs last year), but I suppose they could just be lame repacks too.  Hrm.

Saga Legends / 2013 Saga Legends Basic Figures (Vader Cardback)

Over in the Movie Heroes line, there is a new Vader card much smaller than normal with low-budget 3-3/4" figures that includes a tiny insert showcasing the character. Much like the Batman £6 line we saw last year. A new Ep3 Anakin figure was shown. This line is targeted towards kids on a budget. This line mirrors the budget Iron Man 3 and Ultimate Spider-Man lines that have already been seen but aren't out yet.

I guess that confirms the move to cheapo, $6/5POA style figures for the Movie Heroes line.

We've got a trusty source that says Hasbro is looking to kick off the 6" line in a big way at SDCC this summer...

(here's where I insert the standard "always in motion, the future is" disclaimer - you guys have all seen how much the plans have changed since last August/Celebration 6)

If it happens, it's going to be a very, VERY popular 6" figure... or should I say figure set?   :-X

The Black Series 6" Figures / 6" Black Series Wave 2 (2013 Wave 2)
« on: January 29, 2013, 01:04 PM »
Only news we have so far on Wave 2 is that it will be another four figures...   thoughts/guesses?

I'll guess they keep up the 3 OT, 1 PT mix
- Jedi Knight Luke
- Princess Leia
- C-3PO
- Anakin (RotS)

(it'd be just like them to give Han the shaft until wave 3 or 4 with the way they've been treating him lately :P).

Discover the Force / Movie Heroes / Class II Ships - Ideas?
« on: January 29, 2013, 11:07 AM »
OK, so the majority here seem to be in agreement that they hate the new Class II assortment.  The comically undersized Slave I, the hollow Republic Tank.  Not many of you are buying.

What could Hasbro put in this line (think smaller ships that would hit the $20 price)?

Would you pay $20 for something Bail's Speeder from ROTS?

TV-9D9 / LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles
« on: January 28, 2013, 03:31 PM »
More on this one from Cartoon Network... sounds like it's a series of three specials instead of a one-off episode like The Padawan Menace or The Empire Strikes Out.

With the help of a fresh class of Padawans, Yoda leads the Jedi in a desperate fight to stop Darth Sidious and his minions from creating a new super-weapon that could crush the Republic and win the war for the forces of Evil.

TV-9D9 / The Clone Wars - Season Six?
« on: January 28, 2013, 03:23 PM »
I'll just go ahead and lob this one out there...

Cartoon Network hypes their 2013-2014 schedule/plans...  and there's no Clone Wars mentioned.   :-X

So... which is it:
- they didn't mention Clone Wars because they are still negotiating season six with the new Disney-owned LFL.
- they didn't mention Clone Wars season six because there is no season six.
- they didn't mention Clone Wars because it's moving to DisneyXD.
- they just forgot to mention it because it's been so lackluster the past two years they forgot they even air it.

Place your bets and speculate away!

JD Sports Forum! / NHL 2013
« on: January 13, 2013, 11:28 PM »
Got my revised ticket information over the weekend and the schedule has been released, so time to roll this over to a "real" NHL thread.  :)

Got my tickets for Saturday vs. the Avs.  Also printed off tickets to go see the free scrimmage (Wild v. Houston Aeros) this Wednesday.  A free night of hockey to get to know the new players, free $10 in concessions, and 50% off gear at the hockey lodge store (limit one sweater per person).  Might have to break down and pull the trigger on a new Granlund sweater if I can get one for 50% on Wednesday...

HOF announcement today, time to start up the new thread.

It'll be really interesting to see what happens today with Bonds and Clemens.  I'm expecting both to come in around the 40-50% mark, but we'll see.

I'd like to see the Killer B's get in together, but I have a feeling that Biggio alone may be the only one (if any) that get in today...

(ps. can't forget to include the usual MN-homerism HOF voting rant here for Jack Morris  - '91 game seven is still the greatest game of baseball I have ever had the chance to watch.  8))

The Vintage Collection / Best of 2012?
« on: January 2, 2013, 04:01 PM »
No one has started this yet?  I'll get the ball rolling by stealing from last year...

Let's go with the following catagories:

Best Figure
Best Vehicle
Best Exclusive
Best Multipack

Here's my list -

Best Figure:  Hmmm...  I think I'm going to go with the Vintage Nikto Guard.  Great to finally check him off the update list and a great sculpt.  Runner-up for me would be the new vintage collection Weequay upgrade.

Best Vehicle:  I think I'll have to go with the Speederbike.  It was long overdue, easy to get and not that expensive with all the TRU BOGO deals/coupons.

Best Exclusive: K-Mart Endor 2-Packs.  Great value for $15 and great figure choices to complement the AT-ST.  I'd love to see these continue in some form.

Best Multipack:  TRU Ewok Multipack.  A pile of great new ewoks and a ton of accessories too.  Runner-up would be the Walmart TPM Astromech pack, another winner in my book.

Watto's Junk Yard / MOVED: School Shootings

This topic has been moved to JediDefender's Sarlacc Pit where all of our politcal type threads go to fester.

If you can't see the Sarlacc Pit area, that means you're not a member there.  If you want to see it (and lord only knows why you'd subject yourself to that), send a PM to me or another Staff Member and we will review your request to be added to the Sarlacc Pit membergroup.  In other words, it's a big boy area and not everyone is big enough to play.

Droid Factory 2013 / 2013 Droid Factory = Dead
« on: December 11, 2012, 01:52 PM »
The winds of change are blowing again...   :-\

I really, really hope the decision to re-ship 2012 Waves 4, 4.1, and 5 in early 2013 doesn't mean bad things for the Legacy BAD stuff.

They can't possibly be considering FOUR lines at retail at the same time (CW, MH, TVC, BAD), can they?  Something's gotta give...
