I wish the panel were being live-streamed somewhere.  :(

I do wonder if Bib Fatuna will ever find his way out as an individual release? I wanted to keep one carded but REALLY don't want to buy two Throne Rooms...

Every pack in figure for the last several years has.  I’d be completely shocked if this was any different.

I'd hope so, especially since he has so much new tooling. We know Hasbro will want to double-dip if possible.

Plus, according to YakFace it looks like they "accidentally" misnumbered BibFatuna as VC276, the same number already used for ARC Commander Colt. I'm sure some carded collectors will be very annoyed with that and want an update.

I'm also 95% sure to back the Ghost on day 1. Something would have to be very wrong with it for me to back out.

Am I the only one here that needs the Jabba???

Nope, I do too. The most recent version I have is the 2004 Saga Ultra version. I had missed both the Black Series TRU set & the Khetanna.

Like Jeff, I’m dumb and ordered two sets… I also figured since this won’t be out for almost a year and a half that I can always just cancel one of them between now & then if Hasbro announces any single carded versions of 8-D8, or other sets with Salacious (not that I really need a new Salacious.)

the paints app’s definitely seem to be different (Jabba’s is lighter)  and they come with different pillows and blankets

Hey, it's not Hasbro's fault that Bib Fatuna is a fan of HGTV and decided to do a little redecorating once he took over - a new coat of paint, some new throw pillows and blankets!  Give the place a whole new feel!

I wonder if Bib is into 'Fixer Upper' or if he is more of a 'Property Brothers' type?

The odd part is that the BoBF playset comes with a dais.

But the annoying part for completionists is that while they are the same sculpt the paints app’s definitely seem to be different (Jabba’s is lighter)  and they come with different pillows and blankets

I just realized that this is Hasbro nd that 8-D8 is going to be carded within the box.

We could still end up with a ROTJ carded version in the set, and then a single release on a TBOBF card (or the aforementioned deluxe 8-D8 version with).

I am still working on my list, and now I may need to update it after the Jabba announcement. This is a tough one. There are so many sets I'd love. I keep going back and forth between set pieces from key story moments in the film & bigger set pieces that can be used with a ton of other figures. Then there's the whole OT, PT, ST, & D+ era debate... I don't think I'd be unhappy with anything anyone has suggested so far.

Wow, the set looks great. I agree on the release timing, it would have been nice to get it closer to the Throne Room playset release and in the ROTJ 40th Anniversary collection. I was ok with the 30AC Salacaious Crumm, but I do dig the new one. 8D8 looks FANTASTIC. And there's no way this is his only release. I'd be willing to bet he later gets put on a single card for carded collectors who want to "Complete the 96", hopefully they use the old ROTJ art rather than something from his TBOBF appearance. I guess the delayed release will let me set up the Throne Room set as a TBOBF scene for awhile before it gets permanently converted into Jabba's Palace when this set comes out.

$89.99 sure is a far cry from the old $9.99 blue Saga Ultra Jabba we got back in '04... Value of the set is still decent by today's standards (especially given the $40 Krrsantan we are about to get), but I still wouldn't have minded it being about $20 cheaper. I would have taken the rugs and pillows sculpted to the dias to cut costs, but they gotta double dip from the Throne Room set and release all of those again to justify the higher pricepoint here.  Those rugs do at least look like they are made of some sort of soft-goods. Here's roughly how I'd see the cost breaking down:

  • $39.99 - Jabba the Hutt
  • $19.99 - Dias & Hookah
  • $16.99 - 8D8
  • $11.99 - Salacious B. Crumb, Rugs, Pillows & Accessories

Jeff, I like your list a lot. I think I'd only add a flying display stand, maybe as the first unlock. That feels like an essential piece of the set to me.

If The Ghost is larger than the BMF Falcon like the rumors were saying, a stand might not be an easy thing to do.

I'd take a welded steel baseplate & armature.  :D

I'd love to see another Bad Batch figure or two. I'd be nice if Hunter had some other members of the squad to pose with. I also wouldn't mind seeing some more "Finish the 96" figures, some Ewoks would be nice.

I do hope that whatever the figure unlocks are, they only come carded if they will also be available loose in some other format later, (say a 7-Pack Ghost Crew set, in the same vein as the army building packs). Otherwise, I'd hope all of the exclusive figure unlocks are loose. I'd hate to need to buy a second Ghost just to get an opener & a carded version.

I got Colt today, and miraculously it was relatively undamaged despite having been shipped in their usual flimsy bubble envelope.

Still need to replace the Havoc I received that was crushed to bits.

I got my Colt today.  Came in a nice undamaged box that actually fit the card!  Upon opening, the bubble is coming off the card (card is pristine, though).

I, too, got mine in a bubble mailer yesterday, not a box. I wasn't quite so lucky and my cards had a few heavy creases on them.
