Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Rant - Idiot at Circuit City
« on: May 6, 2004, 07:56 AM »
See I have the exact opposite experience at my local circuit city. After months of researching a HDTV I decided it was time to take the plunge. I went to Ultimate electronics, Best buy, and some local mom and pop shops to determine best prices and negotiate. Circuit city wound up being the best deal. I purchased the TV the delivered the TV to my home the SAME DAY FREE OF CHARGE. GRATIS. About a week later, I was shopping prices (you know buyers remorse) and found that they had an additional 10% off sale at a competitor. Without hesitation ,I spoke to a the sales person(at CC) who instantly made the price adjustment wihtout talking to 14 other people before they made a decision they just did it and I  wound up saving almost 400.00 dollars.
I walked away tellling my wife I will never shop anywhere else but CC because of the no BS policy.

alright I already know that I'm going to piss off a few people with this statement though it's not my intention rahter just my observations of the trailers.

I have seen about three different trailers for this movie and each one looks like ass. The CG looks it was done in flash by a 6 year old. I was waiting for the damn sponge monkeys from the rathergood website(i.e. quizno commercials) to come flying out during the castle scens. Is it me or have we just come to expect crap as the standard these days.

I owned both of my houses for about 7 years now I just sold the 1st one a few months back....what irrattes me the most. no matter what state oyulive in there is always something you get jerked around with during the whole process. I'm pretty much a no nonsense guy don't bull**** me don;t him and hll give it to me straight and your going to get much farther with me. There hasn;t been one real estate transaction that I have made that has gone smooth because of either other people inept abilities or my lack of patients(yes I admit I am part of the problem). The sale of real estate should be one of the happiest moments in your life if your buying personally if your buying as a business(which i have) that's all out the window.

My ramblings are leading me here  No matter what you can expect to get jacked around and don;t sweat the stupid stuff your not going to back out of a house because the seller isn;t going togive you the fir place tools. so don't sweet the small stuff.

I have to agree with what Scott has to say about all of this.  I saw CSW community which was close at the time turn on each other because of the whole 2000 election.  For a while the talk turned so badly that Mike (webmaster of CSW) made it a point not to have political or religous threads at the site.  A year or two later this ban was removed and the same dead horse came back up but only many times worst.
I'm glad JD has decided to make this decision beacuse I don't want to see this place turn into RS version 2.0 which in the past couple of days it started to look like.

As a capital offender  of such things mentioned above at CSW. All to often people can not detach themselves enough from there own anchored thoughts to consider that someone elses opinion is just that and nothing more. Far to often when a good debate is all that's intended ultimately someone gets offended no mattter how one approaches the issue. Like I said I'm a big instigator and often polarize my thoughts to get a discussion started. Although I don't agree with Chris, Jedi defender community has always impressed me as one with highy intelligent indivuals who have a ridiculous hobby, I have to appreciate his wishes...so i'll be emailing you a lot chris for permission ;)

no padawan the TV was the largest piece and  you can get them on sale right now.  THough it wasn't cheap for me I saved my pennies( i won;t put anything on a credit card) and researched for a long time until I was able to assemble my dream system. Saving for that system and then the day I could go out buy it and then assemble it gave me great joy. My family neighbors and friends come over more often(so we don;thave to travel) and we can all sit around and watch a game or a movie it's great.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Are you a "bad" person?
« on: April 19, 2004, 09:26 PM »
As Stormie said.
Quote
Much like everything else, I think being a "bad person" is relative to each individual's definition of what "bad" is. I've always tried to follow the Golden Rule -- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (or something like that  ) It's tough, but I think I've basically adhered to it my whole life...so far. However, as JediMac confessed, I too have become more and more pessimistic and mistrustful of others...basically as a defense mechanism to what others have done to me. This makes following the Golden Rule all the more difficult. Now, instead of being very outgoing and friendly, I'm more apt to just be quiet and reserved; waiting for others to show friendliness first. This is something I know I have to work on (admitting you have a problem is the first step...).

It is all true to myself as well.

Now for my results... I do not agree with them. Like many of you I thought I was a better person. According to this test I am one bad person.  :'(
On the good side it is Lucky #7!  :D

Seventh Level of Hell

Guarded by the Minotaur, who snarls in fury, and encircled within the river Phlegethon, filled with boiling blood, is the Seventh Level of Hell. The violent, the assasins, the tyrants, and the war-mongers lament their pitiless mischiefs in the river, while centaurs armed with bows and arrows shoot those who try to escape their punishment. The stench here is overpowering. This level is also home to the wood of the suicides- stunted and gnarled trees with twisting branches and poisoned fruit. At the time of final judgement, their bodies will hang from their branches. In those branches the Harpies, foul birdlike creatures with human faces, make their nests. Beyond the wood is scorching sand where those who committed violence against God and nature are showered with flakes of fire that rain down against their naked bodies. Blasphemers and sodomites writhe in pain, their tongues more loosed to lamentation, and out of their eyes gushes forth their woe. Usurers, who followed neither nature nor art, also share company in the Seventh Level.

As for the other level listings... wow I am a bad person.
Level Who are sent there? Score
Purgatory  Repenting Believers  Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo  Virtuous Non-Believers  High
Level 2  Lustful  High
Level 3  Gluttonous  Moderate
Level 4  Prodigal and Avaricious  Very Low
Level 5  Wrathful and Gloomy  Moderate
Level 6 - The City of Dis  Heretics  High
Level 7  Violent  Very High
Level 8- the Malebolge  Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers  Moderate
Level 9 - Cocytus  Treacherous  Moderate

Raised as a Catholic trying to do well in life, I have always put others before myself which has done some harm to my well being. I am just stubborn when it comes to me. I would rather help out others in life before I take care and help myself.
In my life I have been all the way to the top down to the bottom and back. I have learned from my mistakes to make life better. I have succeeded more times that I thought I could and failed more times than I can remember. It is life. Not too long ago in my life things were not looking good for me and I had a serious self reflection time. I was heading down the wrong path and I was builiding walls up all around me. There were things in my life that I had to come to realize and deal with instead of trying to be something that I was not. I hurt many people who were close to me and for that I have said I am sorry more times than I can remeber. Due to my fall in life I have lost many friends who I know will never forgive me. I have accepted that they are now no longer part of my life. I have torn down the walls that I have built up. It is sad that many of those walls still haunt me from time to time. No one is perfect we all fail from time to time.
I have moved on with my life and have accepted who, what, type of person I am. I hate labels of any kind for a person. We are all human of all types. Though I was raised a Catholic I do not believe that any religion in the world is totally correct. They all have their Pros and Cons. I feel that if you are just good to your fellow person and just live life and be there for others that makes you a good person. The definition of "bad" is what you personally make of it. If the world does not want to accept me for who I am. Then I have learned to say "F-It" and go on with my life. You cannot please everyone.

Wow. Self Reflection... try not to dwell on it to much. It will only make you feel worse than things really are. Everyone here is A GOOD PERSON. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

Now Group Hug!  :-*

Well if anyone is going to be joining me in the 7th Level of Hell I have the drinks (the good kind)!  ;)

Ah boba Binks are you infringing on my territory Do you know what that minotaurs name is? I'll give you a hint look at my screen name
for the record I'm not a bad person...I'm not exactly human though so F off all of you

by the Way I don't see anyone giving Dante' credit for his divine comedy ....i may have to put you all in the inferno for the non credited references.

50" samsung DLP hands down the cleanest picture around. I study this TV for 6 months right dow to the firmware upgrades and updates they released starting in december the W1. I didn't hold out for the new HlP models because it won't be until the end of this summer.

I can tell you you have not witnesed a better picture until you go High definition on this TV SD(standard definition or digital cable )looks like ass  because thi V is not made to handle a ****** signal it's native resolution is 720P and has a crispness you could not imagine. I have Hd cable and watch the inhd channel almost 6 hours a day

my other equipment include the HarmKardon avr330 and the Jamo front and center channel with Sub woofer I use bose 161 as my rears and my sides for  7.1 surround.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Bush vs Kerry
« on: April 13, 2004, 07:45 PM »
We eaither get a double crossing idiot who cleary is lying about alot of thing to the American people. Or we get Bush.  ::)   Suddenly moving to Canada doesn't seem like such a bad idea.  :-X

Then vote Kerry, his ideology is much closer to that of ours.

The point to your two party system is balance.  One will always do things differently than the other and each functions as a balance for the other, correcting their "wrongs".  What you perceive to be wrong is entirely subjective and dependent upon your biases.

Double crossing idiot that lies sounds an awful lot like the leadership of Canada for the past 30 years over two parties.  Oh right, that's
the definition of a politician.  Now it makes sense.

Political discussions are always openly entertaining.  It is so amazing to watch how impossible it is for people to put aside their biases to the point of looking idiotic.  It appears the JD moderating team will rob me of that entertainment.   :-*

Alas, I would have voted for Churchill.

I am very much,a  vote for the best person voter. I have voted both republican and democrate and often times I try very hard to open myself up for criticism, and accept the shortcomings of the particular party (person) that I am voting for. However, most people do not communicate that effectively they will most often either get defensive or start bashing me for exposing the weakness instead of understanding that a valid point has been made. I will be the first one to tell you that I bait people using creative phrasing or polarizing the issue to get a "real" response. Most people assume that means I'm for one party or another to be fair I  do lean one way more often than the other.

This time Around we have a big mess on our hands right now which seems to be as clear as mud.
