Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: The Making of: The Empire Strikes Back

Just got my copy today.  Can't wait to really sit down and read it.  Call me crazy but I think these books would make fantastic dramatized movies in their own right.

As a kid I always loved to have 2-1B entertain the Rebel troops by popping the elvis mic out of it's socket so he could sing a little opera for the boys.

At first I was really interested in the Artoo, but that Threepio is incredible.  The Artoo I'm on the fence about.

Someone please explain to me why Dan Curto's art is part of an official trading card line?  This looks like a fifth grader drew it.

Looks good so far.  Can't wait to see more.  This may be the first Sideshow figure I buy with no regrets or reservations.
I have been waiting for a 12" Hammerhead for forever!

As noted on the front page, it is the end of another Star Wars Miniatures line.  Wizards of the Coast announced today that they would not be renewing their Star Wars license and the last expansion set would be released in June.  The fans are planning on keeping the game itself going by redoing the stat cards similar to what fans of the Decipher CCG have done, but that's it for the miniatures.  Look for rock bottom prices on your favourite Star Wars characters over the next year.

I thought pictures of CT were banned in this thread some time ago.

« on: August 9, 2009, 07:24 PM »
What a difference a year makes.  I'm glad I waited until recently to pick up a BR player.  2 minutes from turn on?  Software upgrade?  I picked my LG Blu Ray player up for just over 200 Canadian and it works basically the same as a DVD player.

The picture quality is night and day from DVD, it is an HD format and it shows.

Ever since I had to dump my most of my extensive VHS collection I have been reluctant to actually buy movies in mass quantities.  Being a renter I find the selection to be quite limited.  Even if I were to buy movies the selection is still quite limited.

Being a child of the seventies and having had 8" Megos the Darth Vader intrigued me, but I passed on it because of the inaccurate helmet.  Lucasfilm had this line produced as part of the 2007 30th Anniversary Collection.  I didn't know about the Boba Fett until recently. Finding info about this line was pretty sparse but the Boba looked good enough to take a chance on - especially since I have really enjoy my Medicom RAH Boba Fett.  The only problem I've had with the RAH is that I'm terrified to touch it for fear of snapping a hip joint.  Not a problem for this bad boy though, that little die cast metal body is solid as a rock.

Rather odd scale, 20 cm/7" not too much else to scoop accessories from.  Well here are some pics.
