That's what's missing from Episode III!
I couldn't put my finger on it. What gives George, I love the tunnel.
-
The tunnel wasnt used in any of the prequels was it?
-
Hmmm. Now that you mention it, I can't think of one right now.
Although I recall one of the Episode II George Lucas Select pictures with a purple lightspeed tunnel and what I think was Anakin and Padme's getaway barge to Naboo. I guess that was some sort of animatic or other concept that didn't make the final cut.
-
Anakin's chit-chat session with Ric Olie perhaps would have shown something since they were at the controls of Amidala's ship. Not sure on that though and my copy's nowhere to be found here right now.
-
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that Lucas wanted to leave the lightspeed tunnels as an "OT only" type of thing. I might have just imagined that, but I thought I read something awhile back that Lucas said you wouldn't see them in the prequels because of that.
-
they aren't in any of the new movies.
boy THAT would have been a connector though. heh
we could demand a tunnel added for the DVD! =p
-
Yeah, I missed the tunnels in the prequels. I did not know that was what they were called. Anyway it would have been fun to see on the big screen one more time. Oh well.
-
wait for the rerelease to celebrate the 30th. =)

Right you are! I remember that blurb quite distinctly. Lucas said at some point around the release of ATTACK OF THE CLONES that he didn't want to reveal the lightspeed look until the Original Trilogy. Hence, we didn't see it in Episodes I - III.

Hmmm. Ok then. I guess it helps make the Falcon look cooler.

Bummer. It would have helped to give the saga a consistant feel.

we could crumple up a mess of paper and glue it into a cone
then spin it. =)
