I have something like 13 of the large tubs you see in the lower left corner right now, so there's a fair bit of crap not out.

OK, stupid question time: what have you got stored in those tubs?  Do you bother keeping anything carded, or are you purley an opener?  There's no particular reason I ask, just snoopy.   ;)

We used this stuff:

Ugh, that stuff sucks ass.

We used that and a little paper scorer (Paper Tiger) and it took FOREVER.  We only did a small bathroom, I can only imagin doing a larger room.

That's odd, my wife and I used the same type of liquid and that scoring tool and it only took 2 hours to do our dining room.  It was such a relief because the idea of removing all of that wallpaper was what was keeping me from doing the renovation in the first place.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Roommates suck.

My first and only roommate in university was great, at first.  We got along, shared the chores, had no problems with food, and could even agree on what to watch on TV.  It was all going so great until one day some of my $$ went missing.  Unfortunately, I brought this on myself because he had stolen $$ from another one of my friends a year before that.  I guess since we always got along so well I figured that living together wouldn't be a problem.  But I was wrong.

I confronted him, but he came up with a lame ass excuse (he heard someone walking around in our apartment while he was having a shower  ::)).  I moved out the next day while he wasn't there - I even took down his posters (but left them for him) that were being hung up with my pins.  That felt good.   ;D

Since I can only enjoy this for another 4 days - NO SNOW HERE!  75oF or 24oC, either way you look at it, this rocks!

And here's our first guinea pig in testing the market value on these suckers...

$40 opening bid...  :-\

Please don't sell, it'll just prompt others to sell at this ridiculous price.

My 3 3-packs should be waiting for me when I get home in a couple days, so I don't know yet if I'm going to need to track it down.  Actually, I don't think I'll bother - if I get one, great, if I don't, oh well.  This is one series that I refuse to be completist about.  Regular releases are fine, but I have absolutely no interest in the glow-in-the-dark and other BS.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: January 29, 2005, 01:19 AM »
Hey Jesse (CAnuck), if there's a cheap Leia there, I need her please.

Wait, just to clarify, you guys are talking about picking up clearance figs for me, right? I don't want to pay more than $5 each...

How much are those Stormies??

Brent & Ook:
Here in AZ, TRU has their VOTC for $10.99 US (neither WM or Target has any VOTC left here).  It sounds like that may be more than you wanted to pay, Ook.  How about you Brent?

Boba, Vader were plentiful, but R2 and Chewie were long gone. I was surprised to see Boba and stormtroopers sitting.

I can't quite remember, but isn't it the VOTC Vader that is supposed to be ideal for holding Captain Antilles by the neck?  If so, I'd love to get another Vader for a little display.  If you come across another, I'd be glad to trade/buy from you.

How's AZ (or the U.S. for that matter) treating you Jess?  Little warmer, I s'pose?

Feel free to start up an Arizona Finds thread here if you dig up anything good!  (we don't have one here at JD as it is)   ;)

Good luck on the hunt, and travel safe.

Thanks, Matt.  Why yes, it is a tad warmer, especially in Mexico today.   ;)  I've spent the last couple days in shorts and a T-shirt - no parka for this Canuck.  I'm loving this now, but it's going to make it so hard to go home...   :'(

And I just may have to start up an Arizona finds thread, maybe it'll prompt someone else to keep it up when I leave.   :)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Good Luck MOMC Collectors

I really don't understand why they taped the sides.  Those plastic edges could have easily gone on the inside of the card and glued just like the bottom plastic edges.  My curiosity got the best of me, and I had to open a General Grievous preview figure, and noticed how the cards were attached.  I'm not incredibly picky, kind of mint-on-almost-mint card, but it sure seems unnecessarily sloppy.

Hey Ook,

If I can get back to WM I can maybe help with Luke and Leia.  I'll let you know but they didn't have many Leia's.  Luke I think they had almost as many as Ben...  I'll let you know if I get out that way...

If I'd read your post here I'd have picked them up tonight when I was out that way for Spuffy and CorranHorn.  Sorry about that.  :-\

As another option, I think I can find a Luke and Leia down here in Yuma, Arizona where I'm visiting until Tuesday.  If Jesse James doesn't have any luck, I could grab them for you at the TRU that I visited today.  Just let me know!

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: DVD 3-packs. Ugh.

I seem to be a sucker for packaging these days - despite the criticism that the OTC DVD 3-Packs received, I like em - so I'm sure these will make their way onto my shelves sometime.

Yeah, my driveway seems to do the job just fine.  I always tell myself it's not the size that matters, but how I use it.   :-*

Thankfully, my driveway leads up to a very comfortable garage.  I found it a pretty tight fit at first, but I've learned to actually enjoy it that way.  Of course, regular maintenance is important.   8)   :P

Space is definately going to be an issue.  I already told the wife to expect a lot of shelving pretty much on any bare wall in the basement.

So true!  I've already expanded out of my Star Wars room into the hall that adjoins it, but I still don't have enough room.  I've bugged my wife alot about knocking out the wall betwen my room and her sewing room, and she's always rolled her eyes at me (after agreeing with me that it's a GREAT idea - she's got a slight knack for sarcasm  ;D).  But the other day she actually suggested that she could move out of that room into the rumpus room in order for me to expand.  Holy sheepshit, Batman!  I wasn't sure if she was just teasing me again, but it could happen.  If it does, look out world - they better start cutting down more trees so that I can cover the walls in shelving!   :D

I haven't been to the US for years.  I was down into Montana with my family back in highschool (hmmm... 13 years ago?) to go skiing - beautiful countryside!

Thanks for the idea of the Arizona finds thread on Rebelscum - I'll check it out.

Can you believe that it cost over $200 for the 3 of us (me, wife, 3 yr old daughter) to get our passports?  They've skyrocketed the last few years with all of the security precautions that are involved these days.  We figured it would be a lot easier dealing with customs officers if we had our passports, and we might even try to drop across the Mexican border - I've definitely never been there!

Well, this Canuck is headed to the wonder that is the U S of A.  My wife and daughter and I are headed to Yuma to visit my in-laws and get some sun.  Any advice for this unworldly Canadian?  Anyone been to Yuma and know of an attraction that I shouldn't miss?  Anyone know how many Wal-Marts and Targets are in Yuma?   ;)
