Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Fodder Alert - 11/15

It's bordering on very political as, many people actually agree with his line of thought in this country and outside it, so I'm not trying to be a prick guys but it is politically charged to not like him for his political beliefs and comment on such...  Commenting on his acting, hey whatever.  The basic point is, calling him a tool because of how he feels about the US is like calling anyone who thinks like him a tool.  There's some people I'm sure do around here, so I'm asking just to lay off the political stuff, it's something we cut from the forums a long time ago because of the problems it inevitably caused...  It's a much more harmonious forum without it when everyone gets along without entering their political beliefs...  All is right with the world, yada yada yada...  :)

I know I have a Patton head for similar thinking with customs I'd like to make....  Patton Imperial/Rebel Officers seem like a cool idea.  I wish I had a Rommel in this scale for a Rommel Imperial/Patton Rebel.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: When will the ROTS clearances start?

Yeah Jason, the ARCs sat and sat here from day one...  Not a big seller.  I thought it was that way for most people by what I'd read around the net over the year.  Gunships were impossible to find of course but the ARC was everywhere.  If you couldn't nab it at Target or WM it was guaranteed at TRU.  I saw some there just the last time I was there (before X-Mas).

Now the AT-RT, that was a vehicle that sold phenomenally well.  I mean, I saw it but it never lasted long...  I got 2, and now wish I'd bought a 2nd Wookiee Copter.  Great ships.

As far as the cases, from what I know of what my local buds that collect carded have said, the Target cases were WAY overpriced.  They get cases in bulk and split them up though (I've gotten my cases for a lot of my Silver figs from them) and it comes out to like $1 a case or less I think...  Real cheap though.  If I saw the Target ones real cheap I'd maybe get a set just cuz I need some right now.

The B-Wing I saw as cheap as $20 before it FINALLY dried up around here.  Some Targets had those stacked to the ceilings.  Like others though I'm sure distribution was hit or miss.  I know some people think the Y-Wing was a shelfwarmer but I never saw it and Target was brand spankign new around Pittsburgh.  Just never know if it's gonna be rare or not I guess.

He's there...  very young, but he's there.

Dale beat me to it, but he was the (I think) interpreter at the village...

I can't wait to make a hard-ass looking Imperial Officer wtih the Sgt. Barnes head.  I mean, you just can't get better than that.

BTW

I merged the "2006 Fodder" thread with the Fodder alert thread...  Keep all the fodder talk in one thread I figure, it'll keep things simpler.

Just a heads up,

The 21st Century figure line has a license to the movie Platoon to make figures of the actors/characters in that film along with some vehicles.  The good news?  Yes, you will have a Tom Berenger (all scarred up) Sgt. Barnes head for fodder...  You will have a Charlie Sheen head, you will have a Johnny Depp head, and a Willam Defoe head even.  Lots of great fodder...

The bad news?  Finding 21st figures is a pain in the backside for many.  I still have yet to see a lot of them, especially the Japanese.  Wal-Mart's just attrocious at distributing 21st's stuff, however they may be seeing other retailer outlets as well as etailers (which they've always been at).

Enjoy...

I'd agree E, except that the RS logo's all over the place...  It's still part of RS thent o me.  To me, the actors didn't need OP, they did fine on their own, this just sort of introduced a middle-man and you pay as much (or more) for auto's now and you're forced into buying that "piece" of a site you don't want (or I don't want anyway).

That's my beef...  It's a business though and that's fine...  But the whole place is becoming one.  I mean, starcases?  hah...  Whatever "helps you keep the site running" I guess.

That's my thoughts man...  This isn't a business to me, it's fun...  I don't wanna charge my fellow collectors for autographs, nor slap my lameass logo on the picture (which is why I won't ever get an auto from that "company").   There's no integrity with some people in this hobby.  Hell, half the time scalping was being condoned openly on their forums.  You can't stop it, but don't welcome it with open arms...  Have some pride for Christ's sake.

Time to move onto BattleStar Galactica or the hoped for Hobbit movie I guess!   ::)

BTW Greenday's someone we're generally well aware of, contrary to elsewhere.  At the moment it's like a cat toying with a mouse...  So to speak.

Much the same way everyone wants vehicles till they see the outrageous ass stretching prices Hasbro and/or the retailer decide to charge.  B-Wing comes to mind, which I saw hit several stages of clearance due to the $40 pricetag...  Hell, even ARC-170's didn't sell and that was a new sculpt. :)  I had a tougher time tracking the Tri-Fighter, AT-RT, and Wookiee Copter's down.

But we all want that $80 AT-TE right?  ;D

For me, my basic "standard" is ball/socket knees, angle-cut elbows, ball/socket neck, and I'd like ball/socket shoulders.  THat's what I think should be standard for the line, however an army builder like the DST should get a little better...  SA or damn close to it (IE: I could lose the ankle joints and ball/socket torso, but that's it).

That idea with multiple heads is a good one too Paul considering 21st Cent. Toys is getting in the habit now of including an ENTIRE torso with some upcoming figures for "army building" variety it seems, plus multiple heads with some figures.  Hasbro can do the same or better I'm sure, especially since their figures sell for $1 or $2 more each.

I've got some renewed hope with the Clones and Firefighter recently pictured but when I look at Veers I just think how bad Hasbro could tank a resculpt of the Death Star Trooper...   :-\  That Veers figure just lacks quite a bit in my book (Like a removable hat, the back of his armor, and knee articulation).

Oustanding figures, simply incredible.

Looks like a good beef up in articulation.  The Firefighter (I agree, not a Clone...  Why Clone people to do jobs you'd have needed prior to the Clone Wars?) is amazing looking.  That looks simply like a real costume as opposed to plastic.

Cody's fantastic, it's the best we could have possibly hoped for.  A removable helmet on the #41 sculpt...  Simply perfect to me.  I can see this just being an incredibly hot figure.  Unfortunately my gf's kid is going to go ape**** when he sees that picture and I'm gonna go the same way trying to track it down for him.

The grunt rocks too and will be equally a pain to find, though I know i want a hefty army of those.  I'd buy a 4-pack of them in a heartbeat, and in multiples.  That's some amazing looking stuff, and can't wait to add those to the Clone ranks.
