Vintage Kenner / Rebel Transport
« on: April 6, 2005, 03:20 PM »
This is one of the few vintage items I'd like to get a hold of another one as I fondly remember it as a kid and think it would look great in a modern era diorama...

Anyone know of any place to get a hold of one?  Or should I just try ebay?  It wouldn't need to be in perfect condition as I would probably repaint it a lot.

I think it would be very cool if there were some sort of feature here that you don't see anywhere else.

For a while I was hoping my photonovels would be hosted here, but I know that has pretty much fallen through.

But maybe we can come up with something else?  Something really rare but cool... something that this website has that others don't...

Maybe also, we could do some sort of giveaways... I would contribute to that.  Maybe not a weekly giveaway, but some sort of monthly award to a new member of the forums or something...

Like each month, a carded army builder or something could be given away... or even there could be a list of potential items... and the winner each month would get their choice of each one they want...

I would love to be a part of something like this...

Thoughts??

Revenge of the Sith / Clone Trooper #6 - Worth Army Building
« on: April 1, 2005, 11:20 AM »
I know, I know - some people hate this figure because of the action feature... but having one in hand really opened my eyes.  If this is considered "crappy" then we are in for a real treat this year with the ROTS army-builders.

To me, an army builder needs to have two things to make it fun -

- good sculpt
- nice articulation

This one has both... the sculpt is great, and the articulation is awesome... the following points are articulated -

- head
- right shoulder
- left shoulder
- right elbow
- left elbow
- right wrist
- left wrist
- right hip
- left hip
- right knee
- left knee
- right ankle
- left ankle

Plus, 7 of these are ball-jointed.  The only thing missing on him is waist articulation...

His left shoulder armor is also removable, and can be replaced with a piece that has the Republic insignia on it...

So, what's not to love about this figure?  His action feature does not draw away from the figure in the slightest... plus his joints are all stiff and not loose...

I know some people said they were passing on this one in favor of the AT-TE Gunner #38 and Clone Trooper #41... but this figure is nothing to be ashamed of.

I say enjoy this one, he will blend in well with the others, and why chance the other two being hard to find, and having passed on this one when you had the chance?  It's a hell of a lot better than the Clones in the SAGA lineup... and IMO rivals the SA Clone Wars Clone.  Plus this guy does have peg holes in his feet.   ;)

« on: March 31, 2005, 10:19 PM »
Here is part 9 in the Rykrof Enloe Series -

Aggressive Negotiations

Following the recent debacle on Spahl VII, Republic Intelligence
has discovered that former Ambassador Tame Heem is alive,
but has joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Although news of the betrayal has spread throughout the
Republic, the Jedi Council has sent a secret message
to the former Ambassador, requesting to send a committee
to negotiate a new alliance with the Ithorians.

To ensure the success of the mission, the Jedi Council sends
a trio of its finest warriors to meet at the diplomat’s
luxurious estate.  Little do the Jedi know that a former
member of their ranks lies in wait to confront them…

Photonovels and Movies / RE #8 - TRAITOR WITHIN
« on: March 23, 2005, 04:24 PM »
Here is part 8 in the series -

TRAITOR WITHIN

War has engulfed the galaxy.  Following the Battle of
Geonosis, the Jedi Order desperately struggles to assist the
Clone Army in holding off the advance of the droid armies
of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

As the Separatists rage war on the Core Worlds,
Republic Ambassador Tame Heem has become stranded
on the battleground planet of Spahl VII, which
has come under attack by Count Dooku himself.

As the Republic plans a desperate rescue attempt,
little do the Jedi suspect the traitor within…

That's it... next one should be up next week!

Photonovels and Movies / RE #6 - ASSASSINS OF EVIL
« on: March 17, 2005, 11:55 PM »
ASSASSINS OF EVIL

Although the Confederacy of Independent Systems has
condemned the actions of terrorist organizations throughout
the galaxy, many in the Republic fear war is inevitable.

As the Senate debates the possibility of a military creation act,
former Republic Peace Officer Rykrof Enloe has urged
Senator Amidala of Naboo to support the creation of an army
to assist the overwhelmed Jedi.

Little do the Jedi know that in an attempt to regain power in the
Separatist hierarchy, the leaders of the fallen Badoo Corba
terrorist organization have forged an alliance with the
deadliest mercenaries in the galaxy…

Revenge of the Sith / Patience...
« on: March 11, 2005, 03:12 PM »
...I have 4 figures so far thanks to a trade, the Grievous Wheelbike that I found, and a Mace Windu on the way.

It's damn hard not getting other stuff early by overpaying for it, because it is out there if you want to buck up.  So far I've been pretty good... but there is a collector show in my area on Sunday that I might go to.  I bet there will be some ROTS stuff there, but it might be a bit pricey.

How is everyone else doing with their patience?

Via a trade.  These are very, very cool.  So far I've opened all but the Chopper Droid, which a friend of mine wants.  Grrrr....  ;)

Dooku - very VOTC quality-esque.  Outstanding sculpt and articulation.  I already knew this from the pics, but he's even better in person.  Will get a couple more in April

Polis Massan - apparently the name "Polis Massan" is the name of his species, perfect sculpt and darn near perfect articulation, just no knee articulation, but that's ok and I want a few more in April

Mas Amedda - what an upgrade from his appearance in TPM and AOTC - he looks damn tough and has pretty good articulation as well as a cool removable helmet and two ended tongue that is removable (but looks great when taken out too); his robe is removable and he comes with a very cool gold staff with what looks like a hooded Palpatine on the top of the staff - will probably get at least one more later

Chopper Droid - looks great, but haven't really played with it as it's in the package.  Probably will cave in and let my friend have this one.  But I'll get several in April.

Look at all of the screwholes...

Anyone else think those kinda take away from the appearance of this otherwise really cool ship?

Watto's Junk Yard / How do you goof off in your spare time?
« on: February 16, 2005, 11:16 AM »
I used to play video games, or watch a movie... but lately it's turned into watching FOX news and customizing.  What a boring way to spend 2-3 evenings per week!  Ha!  But I love it.
