We've got a much larger, and more detailed gallery of the prototypes posted on our front page... Feel free to check them out:

Same with the Swamp Speeder, I figure the Separatist Gunship Proto can reside here for a while...
This item, while neat I'm sure, isn't as high on my wishlist and I'm not counting on a good scale with it. It looks hyper detailed though, seems to have a couple cool features to it... I'm sure folks wanting this piece of Sep hardware are going to be ecstatic!
-
Am I the only one who thinks this is going to show up in the TCW line? It is mega cool either way, but this seems like something we are likely to see on the show this season at some point.

I agree - I think they'll put the Droid Gunship and the Swamp Speeder both in the Clone Wars line.
In the grand scheme of things, since they ship Legacy Vehicles with Clone Wars Vehicles, it really doesn't matter.
-
Yeah, it's more our board's cleanliness more than anything, but I figure anything realistic looking can chill here for now... :) Nobody said I was good at keeping the boards clean either though. I probably shouldn't even had the power to remove stuff because I tend to goof up.
-
I'm very excited about this. Hopefully this isn't something that was scrapped. I've liked the saucer design since seeing this ship in the Battlefront games.
-
This is another cool one. Nice to see that we'll be getting a bunch of new Mid-sized ships next year.
-
Anyone notice the cockpit joint? This IS going to hold a droid pilot!
That's cool. I like the way Hasbro has incorporated a cockpit into just about every CIS ship/vehicle. Octuptarra droid, check. Snail droid, check, now the droid control ship.
I bet it comes with a Animated droid pilot (or regular animated battle droid).
Even if it doesn't come with a figure, I'm getting it, providing it's less than $50 (and hopefully no more than $35-same as the Octupatarra droid.

I think it looks nice... It's hard to say what exactly this is going to turn up in though. If it's substantially large enough that I can bite on it being accurately scaled, then I'm down for at least one of them. This was probably the least interesting of the proto images we saw... The oddly colored one we posted shows a lot of the detail though, and it's pretty substantial there. There's a lot to like, plus it's a flying separatist thing... I guess it appeals to me just because they've gotten the shaft a lot.
I figure if the scale's right I'm down for one at least. I'm not so sure on the scale is all now.
-
We got a couple more images of this ship, maybe showing a little more detailing, but overall it's pretty much the same. I really think there's a cockpit on it though, by these photos.

There are new leaked photos of what I assume is the finished product of this and Cad Bane's starfighter up now on Yakface, courtesy of Jayson. (Thanks dude!)
They both look awesome, although I'm much more excited for the HMP (Heavy Missile Platform) since it is a new sculpt (to me).
-
Both ships look cool! I'd even get Cade Bane's ship just because I think Hasbro did an excellent job with their P-38 fighter and the new deco looks neat.

In-Stock at HTS (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/star-wars-the-clone-wars-separatist-droid-gunship?BR=495&SBR=95&ID=27737)
Since I was ordering the Vos Wave from HTS, I grabbed one of these too. $18.74 (using the HOLIDAY25 discount code) is a nice price... :)
-
Great...sold out already. I had this in my cart for a week waiting for them to get the Vos wave to push my order over $50 for the free shipping. ::)
Now that they get the Vos wave back in stock, the Gunship is sold out. Cursed!
-
Mine came in the mail today.
-
HTS just slapped a shipping sticker on Hasbro's box for this ship as well as my Plo Koon's Fighter (same order, but 2 different tracking numbers) I know their site doesn't know how to properly pack things for shipping, but this is just wrong. I open my vehicles mostly, but I like to at least have the boxes in decent shape. Oh well....Will find out next Wednesday to see how banged up they are.
-
I will be pissed if my Tri-Fighter shows up with just a shipping label on the outer box as I am a MOC collector. Ugh. every other time I have ordered from HTS they have packaged the stuff very protectively. Otherwise I'll just be buying this again when it hits retail...

I had just the Droid Gunship in a huge box. I also ordered Xanadu Blood and two Undead Geonosians which I thought were in the box, it was that big.
-
For anyone interested, this is back in stock now at HTS! ;D
I was majorly bummed about missing this last week, so it is an awesome stroke of luck that they got more before X-Mas. Free shipping still applies, and the SW2010 code is still good as well.
I got mine for $23.61 total, which is cheaper than I'd ever find one at any store, provided this vehicle was actually shipping to brick and mortars, which it is not.
Woot!

Sold out again already! :D
Pretty sure I got my order in just in time, but I'll still feel better when I get the shipping confirmation.
-
Gunship just got dropped off at my desk. Happy to report that I was wrong and it's actually in a shipping box with packing materials and it's in minty shape. 8)
No clue where my other ship is I ordered on the same day, but so far so good.

I had an order I placed, about $50 worth of "in stock" stuff after using the now expired Holiday2010 and I also got free shipping, where it has now been broken up in to at least 3 seperate shipping containers. All have been packaged well and were very mint when I received.
My point I am making is HTS must be getting hosed on the now expired deal, because I can't imagine that selling me stuff at 25% off and shipping it 3 times is being very cost effective for them.

WHEW! My Tri-Fighter should be arriving today as well so this is a major relief to hear.
I also got shipping confirmation on the HMP Gunship, so my victory is complete. 8)

My Droid Gunship was also sent in a larger shipping box with packing materials but it most definitely did not arrive in minty shape.
One corner of the vehicle box was crushed and, for whatever reason, it had a dime-sized hole poked in the side. Since I'm an opener and the ship inside was damage free, it wasn't too big an issue. But if I was a "mint-in-box" guy, I'd have been pretty upset since it was obviously damaged before it was put in the bigger shipping box. ::)
-
I had to pick mine up from the Post Office this morning since I was not at home to accept delivery Saturday. It was pretty well packed too, same as the Tri-Fighter, but the box inside was not minty, one corner had some unacceptable wrinkling that will necessitate an echange when this hits retail sometime next year. I'm sure the contents are fine, but I'm more and more attentive to packaging defects nowadays so that's an issue for me.
OR I could simply keep this as an opener. ;D
It's pretty tempting as this is probably my favorite vehicle behind the Swamp Speeder and Octuptarra Droid.
-
For what it's worth, I have seen reports this vehicle is finally starting to show up stateside, at Target I believe. I have not seen any around here but will keep an eye out as I still need a mintier box upgrade.
-
Found one at Target the other day. Can't wait for a chance to peek inside and see how it stacks up!
-
I've been finding the other vehicles that are in the same case as this vehicle, but not the Droid Gunship itself. It's just a matter of time before I find it. I've found the Plo Koon fighter, the Tri-Droid fighter repaint and the Plo Koon JSF. They're definitely out there. It just seems to be in high demand for now.
-
Sure enough, I found this yesterday. And now it's in a pile of starfighter vehicles, waiting to be opened. Oh, the woes of trying to get a collection room organized!

I hear ya, I am moving next week and am facing the same dilemma. Plus I have about 20 trips shuttling swag back and forth to look forward to...yeehaw.
-
I'm putting new shelves up... I'm having to take everything off the temp stuff I have up, and it's a mess. :(

Been there, done that. When I moved about 2 1/2 years ago I made COUNTLESS trips from where I had my collection in storage over to my new place. Honestly, if I could do this over again, it would have been much easier if I had put up all the shelving first and THEN moved my collection.
-
Yeah, I agree - getting your shelves in place first is definitely the way to go if you can go that route.
-
I saw one one of these at Target today, along with the Xanadu Blood, the Tri Fighter and the return of the V-19 Torrent.
-
got mine today, very nice vehicle, but a shame that it only drops 4 of the bombs instead of all of them.
Also there can fit in a droid in its cockpit? but this is already a droid, so what's that all about?
for the rest, its it a super model to have!
-

It's called "additional play value". Hasbro loves to "improve" vehicles to do more than they were intended to do on screen so kids can use their existing figures to interact with them. They did the same thing for the big Separatist Spider Droid a few years back.
-
Maybe it is purely a droid, maybe not...the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid had places for figures to sit inside, confusing some, but it turns out that in a "deleted scene" animatic for the Battle of Kashyyyk, the tanks were going to be manned...by a crew of some 4 battle droids.
-
I'm wondering if the manned thing was changed though, to the tank being a droid itself. The animatic didn't have the eyes (though it was rough anyway), and the final droid had the sort of typical red eyes on it... Who knows though.
I'm sticking with "It's a big droid" though, and the AAT's their droid-crewed model. ;D
-
So...I bought one of these as part of the TCW 2-packs and opened it over the weekend.
I'm mad now because the "chin gun" does not fit in the socket AT ALL. The ball joint is WAY too small to fit in the socket. It's not broken or deformed or anything either, it's just way undersized.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm not sure I can even return this since it has been opened, but thinking of calling Hasbro customer service for a replacement chin gun.
-
Not sure they do that sort of thing (exception being the better legs for the AT-TE). More likely to tell you to return it or they'd send you a shipping label and you can return the whole thing to Hasbro and they'll send you something random of equal value.
-
What scockery said x2. I'm never trusting of that method. They do sometimes, but often times they seem to go for the equal/lesser value. Of course you could wind up with a Naboo fighter! :P
I didn't buy that ship to know if that's a common problem or not. It was so undersized I couldn't bring myself to pick it up, but it may be just the way they are and they take more force to get the pieces together?
-
Favorite moment from Christmas morning for me:
After opening his droid gunship...
My son,"Wow! You can only shoot this down with a rocket launcher!"
Now if he only had some Onderon arc figures to go with it.
