Modern Classifieds / Gentle GIant Mini Bust Collection
« on: March 20, 2004, 08:44 PM »
Well, I've decided I'm going to strictly collect OT busts now, so I am selling all of my AOTC busts.

Everything has been displayed, but is in mint condition, and all of the packaging is mint and included. Busts will be repacked in their boxes.

I've looked over the eBay prices, and this is what I feel would be a decent price compared to what they've gone for.

The collection includes:
White Clone Trooper
Yellow Clone Trooper
Red Clone Trooper
Blue Clone Trooper
Yoda
Jango Fett
Count Dooku
Zam Wessell
Obi Wan
Padme
Anakin
Mace Windu

Asking price: $1000.00, with free shipping anywhere in the continental 48 states. UPS shipping is preferred.

As a -possible- bonus. I have applied for a Star Wars MBNA credit card, through the Jango Fett chrome bust offer. If I receive this bust, it will be included for free. As of right now, I cant guarantee I will receive it. I've also heard that some people received a chrome Vader bust. If I receive either bust, I will include it for free (free shipping as well).

Watto's Junk Yard / Playing the lottery... Do you feel lucky?
« on: February 18, 2004, 03:38 PM »
Well, for the first time ever, last week, on a whim, I decided to play the Hoosier Lottery. I bought $20 worth of tickets. Well today, I went in and had them scanned to see what I won. The cashier handed me four free quick picks. I was pretty psyched, not too shabby winning four free tickets. Well, I started to leave, and she said "Hold on, you have more!", handed me a receipt and $43! :)  Not too bad for the only time I've ever played the Hoosier Lottery...

Modern Classifieds / FS: Instant Star Wars Collection
« on: January 17, 2004, 12:34 PM »
Well the time has come. With everything coming out from Master Replicas, United Cutlery, Gentle Giant and Medicom, I've decided to clear out my collection. So here is your chance to own my Star Wars collection! This represents about 75% of my entire collection. Too much stuff to list, but if anyone is legitimately interested, I'll work with you as best I can. I dont have an image host, so please contact me for pictures (about 16 photos total).

Here is a very basic rundown:
Everything loose unless otherwise noted

Figures:
As far as I know, every figure released from POTF2 onwards. The exceptions are figures purely invented by Hasbro (Crowd Control Stormtrooper, etc). I'm also -NOT- including my holiday figures, animated figures, silver figures or Sacul. If you're ABSOLUTELY interested and must have these figures, I may be willing to negotiate.

Vehicles:
Every vehicle as far as I know. Also every playset (except cardboard sets).

LEGO:
Every SW system set for the exception of Hailfire Droid (too Technic for my taste) and Anakin's Podracer (included in the big podrace set).

Store displays:
Lots of lifesize standups and other display material

Misc:
Tons of other miscellaneous collectibles

I'm starting my asking price at $7500.00, but am willing to negotiate and work out deals. Let me know if youre interested, and I can email you photos. This lot will have to be picked up, as shipping would be absolutely atrocious...

Modern Classifieds / Kotobukiya Star Wars Kits For Sale
« on: January 13, 2004, 04:35 PM »
I am selling my Kotobukiya Star Wars figure models. They are all loose, but in mint condition. I also still have the boxes if you want them. However, I am a little concerned about taking them apart (especially the Clones, they fit together tightly), so I would prefer to not disassemble them and put them back in their packaging. We can discuss this further, though, if you're interested.

Darth Vader: $50
Anakin Skywalker: $50
Obi Wan Kenobi: $50
Mace Windu/Yoda: $50
Jango Fett: $50
White Clonetrooper: $50
Red Clonetrooper: $75
Yellow Clonetrooper: $75
Blue Clonetrooper: $75

If you're interested in buying the entire collection all at once, I'm willing to negotiate a package price.

Email me at aclowe@tds.net

I will welcome package offers and offers for pickup (or meeting) first. After that, I will take offers in the order I get them! Thanks!

Watto's Junk Yard / I'm an idiot....
« on: January 13, 2004, 03:49 PM »
Ok, you guys may remember my thread "What's Your Price", and how I turned down an extraordinarily well paying job, because I felt like I'd hate myself for doing it. A supporting factor in that decision was that the evening of my interview, I had to give an immediate yes or no answer. Well, a few days later I was scheduled for an interview at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, for a position that I felt like I was sure to get (I had met someone from IMS, they requested my resume, and when I heard from Human Resources, they told me while they didnt have what I specifically requested, they did offer another position. I felt like it was surefire. They OFFERED me the position). So, with haste, I promptly turned down the well paying job that I'd hate myself for doing, because I thought I had a chance at a not so great paying job, that I would absolutely love doing. I thought I made the right decision. I didnt let all that money get in the way of what I thought I'd be happy doing.

So, the following Monday, I went to the interview at IMS, and came out of it happy, excited and confident. They told me I'd find out either way if I got a second interview sometime around the 12th. Today, I emailed the woman who interviewed me and politely asked if she knew whether or not I got the second interview. The reply "I'm sorry. You did not get the second interview." That was it. Nothing else, no reason why, she didnt even put her freaking name on the email.

To add insult to injury, I met with the guy whom I thought I'd be managing a small print company for. It would be a lot of publishing stuff, which I'm interested in. Well, that's more or less fallen through. Every time I meet with him, he's changed his mind on what he wants me to do, and what he wants to do (he's just now starting it).

So, it looks like I get to stay a substitute teacher a while longer! Not only does it not pay well, which I could overlook in other factors, but I also absolutely deplore this job!

I guess I learned my lesson; dont pursue what you think you'll be happy with, just pursue whatever you can get your hands on. Otherwise, you get ****ed.

Title pretty much says it all :) I started a thread like this at 'Scum, it's very interesting to hear what other film props and prop replicas people are interested.

For me, it's currently Star Wars by Master Replicas, but I am now officially getting into the United Cutlery brand Lord of the Rings replicas! Between last night and tonight, I've won on eBay an Uruk Hai Scimitar and Frodo's Sting.

I think Im going to add more focus on high end collectibles, and focus less on my "everything Star Wars" approach. Don't worry fellow club members, I wont be stopping my Kubrick endeavors  ;D

I am dropping Koto though, and plan on selling those. If anyone is interested, contact me with your offers. I have many lined up, but I have left: Standard White Clone, Yellow Clone, Mace/Yoda set, Vader, and possibly Jango Fett (depending on a pending deal).

Watto's Junk Yard / Need LOTR Soundtrack Help
« on: January 8, 2004, 10:16 PM »
I'm trying to locate a certain LOTR The Two Towers soundtrack, and would love any help. If you guys could point me in the right direction (no luck so far at any shops online), or take a glance for it on your next trip to the music store, I'd appreciate it.

I'm looking for the soundtrack for The Two Towers. This specific version is a limited edition, in a small dark blue "leatherette" book.    For the life of me, I can not find this online, anywhere. Except eBay (the only copy right now is at $125).

Any help would be great, whether it's some rinky dink site you know of, a friend who's selling a copy, or a store that you could snag it for retail.

Watto's Junk Yard / What's your price?
« on: January 2, 2004, 10:43 PM »
Ok, today I interviewed at a company, and had a day long experience with them. It was a horrible experience.

First, let's talk about the pay structure. The company advances very quickly, and within 2 or so years, you can be making well over 200K, within 15-20 years, a lot of people retire (in theory, you could retire at 35, and some have). However, this job, and all of the people, basically represent everything I hate. I would hate myself for working at a job like this, but at the same time, the money looks amazing. I had to give an immediate answer to what my intentions were, and ultimately I turned them down. The gold looked great, but how great is money if you hate yourself for the way you earned it? I dont need to go into details, but these people are wholly unethical, unprofessional, discourteous, and generally unpleasent people with the attitude of kids. Basically, they are bratty spoiled middle school kids, but older and with a lot of money.

So, was it the right decision? How much would it cost you to throw away all of your ethics and beliefs? Does the idea of retiring before your 50 sound so good that you'd become a person you hate?

Modern Trading / Autograph trading
« on: January 1, 2004, 12:15 AM »
I've decided to collect only 8x10s instead of both sizes of autographs, as I dont have enough space or budget for frames to keep up with 11x14 theater wide (as seen at estore.theforce.net) photos.

I'd like to trade the following 11x14 Theater Wide photos for 8x10's of the same actor (preferably from C2Ventures, as I know I can trust them). I'd prefer a mass trade of everything if possible:

Ray Park (duel saber ignited, theed hanger)
Dermot Crowley (briefing room)
Zach Jensen (Geonosis battlefield)
Mercedes Ngoh (Jabba's dancers)
Bonnie Piesse
Matt Sloan (Plo Koon, Palpatines Office)
Jesse Jensen (jumping into republic gunship)
Leeanna Walsman
Rena Owen

See new post below:

I've also decided to collect only 8x10 autos, instead of 8x10 and 11x14 (Theater Wides).

I am selling the following Theater Wide photos (check estore.theforce.net for pictures):

Shannon Baska Mcrandle (11x14 photo, non-theater style)
Carrie Fisher (Endor)
Kenny Baker (R2 Close Up, projecting)
Dave Prowse (Clinched fist Vader, Bespin)
Amy Allen (Arena)
Michonne Bourriague
Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett, walking alongside Carbo Han and Bespin Guards)
Daniel Logan (Kamino apartment)
Mary Oyaya (Palpatine's Office)
Peter Mayhew (Hoth)
Warwick Davis (Wicket)

I'm asking $225 for the set, -or- $50 plus 8x10 autos (1 each) of Sam Jackson and Anthony Daniels from estore.theforce.net (if you're interested in a trade, email me, Ill specify which ones I want). Also trading some more autos in the trading section if youre interested!

Watto's Junk Yard / Merry Christmas, Enjoy a Free Gift!
« on: December 22, 2003, 09:24 PM »
So I get up with the family bright and early this morning, and head to Kroger (a grocery store chain for those who may not know). We weave through the crowds, scrounge for the stuff we need, and make our way to the checkout lane. Typical week before Christmas, the place is packed and lines are moving slow. But what is this I hear? Kroger is handing out free gifts? Well isn't that nice! I guess the wait in line wont be so bad, after all, we are getting a free gift just for taking our business to Kroger!

We continue to wait. It's a long line. Finally, we get to the conveyor and start unloading. They've run out of gifts! Oh no! We wont get one! The cashier starts to ring up our groceries. Ah, here comes an employee with a large box! It's more free gifts, and we'll be getting one! Wohoo! Free stuff!

Thank you for shopping at Kroger! As a way of wishing you Merry Christmas, we have a free gift for you. The cahsier reaches into the box. The tension builds. Seconds become hours. What could the free gift be? A gift certificate? Free food maybe? I could go for some doughnuts right about now. Maybe some soda? A Christmas ornament perhaps?

Finally, the moment arrives, and the cashier pulls the gift from the box.

It's.... IT'S....... OH MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE IT! IT'S..............

A ROLL OF FREAKING TOILET PAPER! Yes, you read that correctly. I nice shiny roll of cheap one ply toilet paper. The kind where you have to use half the roll just for an on-par cleaning. The kind cheaper than what you find in a backwater gas station.

Merry Christmas! Please think of Kroger each time you wipe your ass with this cheap toilet paper!

Modern Classifieds / Holiday Special! :)
« on: November 26, 2003, 03:43 PM »
Ok, here's the dilio. I just decided to get rid of my Code 3 Die Cast Millenium Falcon. I just never really got attached to this piece, and I dont want to get involved in collecting another line. Plus, I could use the space and cash.

The MF is complete and in mint condition, and includes the acrylic cover for the display base. Everything is like it arrived from Code 3.

I'm asking $250.00 for it. Why? Well I want to get rid of it, and I'm only selling this to a limited audience: Anyone willing to meet me as far as Indianapolis to buy it. I absolutely will not ship this because it would be far too much of a pain in the butt (I didnt keep the shipping boxes). I will drive as far as Indianapolis to deliver this. I'm willing to negotiate a little, but I dont want to go much farther (hey, Im already taking a $50 dive on it).

So if you're interested, email me at aclowe@tds.net
