(Quick set-up, first:  Some Rebelscum dude is wanting to know if he should return the DS he just bought yesterday, in favor of the DS Lite that's coming out in a few weeks.)

Our boy responds:

Take it back and buy a 360. That's exactly what I did. DS is crap.

Excellent advice, as always, matkatatonic!  Because, clearly, the 360 and DS are in direct competition with each other, and the six-year-old boy who originally wanted a DS so he could play Mario will be much, much happier with the 360 instead.

Well, I guess matkantgetitup was right about one thing:  The DS is crap--compared to the Lite, anyway.

I never gave a crap about the DS, but that all changed when they announced the Lite a few months ago.  So that, combined with all of the games that are out, and all of the games that will be coming out (like Zelda), has really peaked my interest.

And I was all set to get one until I saw what Europe was getting:

It's dead sexy--or at least as dead sexy as a handheld gaming system can be, anyway. 

So, I'll be waiting until the black ones hit the states.  Don't absolutely "need" a DS until Zelda comes out, anyway, so hopefully they'll have the new colors out by then.

Indeed. I've gotten enough enjoyment out of my DS to justify taking a 30 or 40 dollar beating on the price....but it's going to sting buying it twice.
