It is a strong maybe for me.  I REALLY want to attend it.  It just comes down to can I spare the money for it.  In the end I'll probably go at least one day.  The hype will be to strong for me to ignore.

I just dropped $112 bucks for my four/five day pass.

I've got a quick question about hotels... So when I book a reservation on Thursday do I have to pay for the hotel on Thursday or do I wait until I actually stay there? Stupid question I know, but I've never actually booked a hotel myself before. I just want to know how much time I have to find roommates since the hotel costs will rape my wallet if I try and stay alone, discounted or not.

So when I book a reservation on Thursday do I have to pay for the hotel on Thursday or do I wait until I actually stay there.

It varies.  There are some that might force you to pay up-front to save a particular room rate, but usually most will only require a CC # in order to hold the room (and then you would pay upon check-out).

It might not hurt to check out a few LA area hotels on-line ahead to check to be sure that the payment/cancellation policy there that fits your needs...

I can't believe it, but I actually just ordered tickets myself.  I've been talking about it with my wife and she gave me the go ahead.  So I ordered tickets for me and my son (he'll be 8).  I really didn't think I was going to be there but it looks like now I will!!  I'm very excited.  However, it will probably only be Saturday/Sunday for me.  It took enough to convince my wife to let me go, I don't think she'll let me pull him out of school too early.

Boo yah!  I just ordered my 5 day pass - the first round of drinks are on me at the JD party!   :D

It looks like I'm going solo this time too, my wife decided that I may as well go without her so she doesn't "get in the way".   ;)

I'm in.   :D

ETA:  And it looks like I might be in the market for a roommate(s) as it looks like the non-SoCal GH contingent is going to be mighty small this time around.

I'm planning to arrive Wednesday and stay until Saturday with a red-eye flight home Saturday night.  So, I'm only planning to book a room for three nights (Wed, Thurs, & Fri).

I actually already have a reservation for Wednesday and Thursday, but all the rooms at this particular hotel were blocked for Friday night, so I'm going to try to snag that night tomorrow.

Wow- those hotels are further than I thought.  I am hoping to get a room at the Holiday Inn but I'll be surprised if I'll get through right at 1:00pm (EST).

If not there, I am going for the Sheraton or Wilshire.  It hurts my head to think I am going to be spending $1,000 on a hotel room  :-X.

I know... it's crazy... 5 nights in a hotel = $$$ I probably shouldn't spend... add to that the flight and CON fee....   I know my Girlfriend would rather we go to Italy (and probably spend the same too!)

So I have my 4day pass... but can't get to the hotel site from work... where's the love in that?  Just gotta hope there'll be some rooms left this evening!

Done.  That was easier than I had ever hoped it would be.

That's a relief.

BTW, I booked my room at the Wilshire Grand.  I was able to book Wednesday & Thursday nights last week for around $139/night tax included.  It cost me $179+ tax for Friday night.  So much for great convention rates.

Hey, I got in at the Wilshire too!!!  I had the Holiday Inn but it wouldn't accept May 22nd and once I backed up to change my date it was gone.  The Wilshire was my second choice, so I am relieved.  But I got stuck paying $179.00 a night.... :-X

I think the only available for us was the Millenium (Falcon) Biltmore....  it's like $250 a night or some such crap..... (oy my wallet.... now how can I ever pay for stuff AT C4?)

That stinks.  It looks like they may have done the same thing they did for C3 - opened blocks of rooms gradually.  I just looked at the hotel list at it looks like rooms are available at most of the hotels.  Some are sold out for certain nights (mainly Friday night), but others have rooms available for the 23rd-28th.

Damn day for too many meetings.  I missed the chance to get the hotel I really wanted (Hilton).  Oh well, I do have a room at Hampton closer to the airport.

I think the Hilton was the first to sell out... I think only 1 or 2 people from the DCSWCC made it into the Hilton

I'm glad I ended up booking a hotel early on since I stuck at work at and it sounds like most of the close hotels are gone or will be soon.  I'm also only paying $90 something a night so thast saves me money to spend at C4.  Now hopefully the hotel is in a good spot of town.  May have to take a look during my lunch hour since its close to my work.

I ended up booking at the Mariott.  I just didn't want to deal with a cab ride or rental car from the Hampton everyday.

Party at the Wilshire! I got a room there as well. I would have liked to have gotten into the Holiday Inn but it was booked, my own fault for sleeping in until 2 today.... :-X :-[

Now I just need a roommate or two and some $$$...

Well the booking was done as soon as it came online, 6 nights arriving on the 23rd & leaving on the 29th my Birthday. I will be bunking in with locals & couple of other Canuckleheads.  ;D

We are staying at the Holiday Inn, 0.2 miles from the Convention Centre.   :-*

Yeah, it'll be great staying across the street from the convention center - no need to deal with cabs or car rentals.  8)
