Sounds very cool. What would really make me scream was if they released the figs in the "Vintage Position' (Neutral Pose) with SA Clone articulation. That would be too awesome!

I do hope we see some new vehicles as well. I'm guessing that the new Falcon will be included in the line. Maybe the new Red Leader X-Wing will as well? I also hope to see the Sandcrawler or Cloud Car.

All in all, it's a good idea that has me excited!

They sure are purty.  Just wish they would lay off of the Han Cantina sculpt.  how many times will it be now that this has been released. Overall, very sweet package, to bad they dont stick with this design from here on out.

This is a great surprise for Friday, I figured we wouldn't see/hear much until Sunday.  It is nice to have some clarification now too on the "Original Trilogy Collection" and the 12 vintage-styled figures (4 from each movie).  Looking at those pictures, those figures seem to be very well articulated, neutrally-stanced, and nicely sculpted.  Kind of what we have been asking for for awhile now.  I'm not quite sure what to think of the soft-goods on Obi and Luke, but they do look great.  Even though we've gotten a lot of Cantina Han, I think this figure looks terrific...and I can't wait to see them on the vintage cardbacks.

This is NOT what I was expecting out of a "Vintage" OT collection. Clearly the emphasis is on the character selection and the packaging, not adding vintage-style sculpted figures to Kenner's original line. This is BETTER.  ;D

However, I expect this to be a more expensive line. Given the double packaging and apparently generous articulation on these figures, depending on how many get ordered by retailers, I'm guessing these figures will sell for anywhere between $6.99 and $9.99.

I'm also thinking this is Hasbro's way of testing the uber-articulation market, gauging demand and collector support for similar post-Episode III figures.

Contemplations?
Post sober.

This is what I've been waiting for!!! :D

That ANH Han is perfect! Finally we'll have a Han that can have both arms down by his side. I'll be doing a bit of customizing with a POTJ Bespin Han to make a ROTJ Han to replace that god-awful SAGA Endor Han. This is great, great news.

Luke and Obi-Wan also look cool. I can't wait to see more pics of these guys. I bet that Obi-Wan will be able to sit in the Landspeeder too! And that Luke looks like he may be to scale. Finally I won't have to display any more tall ANH Lukes.

I'm one of those people that likes softgoods. What many people don't realize, is that you can generally make the softgoods look better than it does when its fresh out of the package. Just wet it, and mold it to your liking. It tends to stay a little more "molded" after that. If you really want it to stay, a little hairspray will do the trick, too.

And the Falcon has been retooled to fit 3 figures??? Did I read that correctly? I wonder if there's been any work done on the inside. If its really big enough to fit at least Han and Chewie in the cockpit, then I may customize the interior also.

I originally thought those were 12" figs, that's why I didn't post them the previous pics.  I thought they looked great as 12" figs, but are 10x better when I found out they're only 3 3/4".  Awesome!

Any guesses as to the remaining 9?

I'll say:

ANH:
Luke
Han
Obi
Princess Leia

ESB:
Lando
Darth Vader
Boba Fett
Yoda

ROTJ:
Chewie
R2-D2
C-3PO
Stormtrooper

If this line is only limited to twelve figs, which if I'm reading correctly, is the case, then Hasbro would probably want to pick the twelve most identifying characters in the Saga.  And I would want the first costume each character appeared in, as its the most iconic.  Now obviously, the Vader, droids, Chewie and Stormtrooper didn't change costumes throughout the trilogy (or the changes are barely noticeable), so you could push those back to the later movies.

I hope Hasbro does it this way and doesn't release multiple costumes.  I think this lineup would work for what they are trying to accomplish - market the OT on DVD and harken back to the vintage days.  Hoepfully, we'll know the rest of the line up after this weekend.

Wowza is all I can say to all of the other stuff, its an AWESOME day for everyone I think, multi articulated CORE characters, some awesome needed and long rumored resculpts, a Cloud Car Pilot, I just about wet myself this morning!

Yeah, this really is a tremendous day for collectors.  Everything shown looks pretty great, and to be honest I am almost most excited about the "vitnage-esque" line.  In a way I'm almost disappointed it is only 12 figures, but we'll have to see who the rest will end up being.  If you think about it, this is basically combines what many of us have been talking about and asking for for awhile now:

1. Super articulated "definitive" versions of the main characters.
2. Cards similar (or in this case, exactly) like our favorite vintage versions.

If the rest of the line is as well articulated as Han looks to be, I don't think we'll be disappointed.  I would think (and really hope), that a well-articulated Vader has to be included somewhere.  I hope we hear more about this, this weekend.  The Dagobah and Bespin waves are great though...too bad it is the last of the themed waves.  This really is shaping up to be the best year of Star Wars collecting, at least since I have been collecting.

I just about wet myself this morning!

Me too.

Very exciting time for OT fans.

I was happy to see that most of use were on the right track, that the OTC and the "vintage" issues are two separate lines!

The EE case report also helps solidify a UK news report (from theprivateunivers.com via Stan at rebelscum) about the X-Wing Luke, Cantina Han, Vader being shown on the back of the Falcon box.

I haven't ordered figures online for awhile now, and I have been trying to stay away from doing it...but I really worry about missing out on the vintage-updated figures, because I think the combination of them being really articulated, well done versions of the main characters...and on vintage cards with a collectible case...will make these hot items with a lot of people.  I have been thinking about ordering a case of these from EE...for those of you who have used them, have you had good luck?  I've pretty much only gone through Kebco, who do pretty well....but you sometimes have to wait forever and a day for it to get to you.  Just curious.  The Dagobah wave is also tempting to order, since Yoda will be a hot commodity I am sure.
