Title: Light Up Figures - Where do they fall?
Post by: Jayson on June 6, 2007, 09:29 PM
While packing up stuff tonight as I prepare to move into our new house I ran across the Light Up Darth Maul and Qui-Gon Jinn figures. Do you consider these as part of the "basic" figure collection as they can be removed from the Holograph Projector?

I have yet to open them, but when I do I think they deserve a place amongst the hoards of other Holo figures. What do you think?

I do consider these part of the basic figure set.

Sold the light up stands years ago to a customiser so only have them loose.

I do consider them part of the line and have both on display...

- I have my Holo Darth Maul on a CT Chip standing behind my Ep1 Holo Sidious.

- My Holo Qui-Gon was just stashed on the Ep1 shelf until ROTS came out.  After that, I moved him so that he was standing in my little Polis Massan scene as though him and Yoda were discussing all things glowy-force-spirit. ;)

I thought these guys looked neat in their packaging, so that's where they've stayed.

I consider Qui-gon to be a spirit, not a hologram. Just my wish they showed him in spirit form in ROTS.

I consider them to be part of the regular action figure line, although nowadays I think I'm more in line with a lot of people who consider the Qui-Gon to be a "spirit" and not a hologram. :)  The Maul is even more of a proper hologram figure than the "holographic lightsaber duel" version they released last year, even if he's essentially a statue.

Mine are mixed in with the regular figures as well.

The articulation sucks though.   8)

I've got an extra for you so long as you aren't looking for Mint in Mint Package.  The packaging is good to very good and the batteries have of course run out.   Let me know if you're still looking for one!

I have both of these still carded, and I do consider them part of the basic figure collection.  When I had these up on the wall, they were pegged with my other carded EP1 figures.  Since they are front heavy, I had to use several thumb tacks to keep them in place and not to wear the hook.
