I'll admit I cheated on this one but its an easy heap swap :-X
Had a ton of Ugnaughts as a kid, not sure why though. I sort of dug him as much as all of Cloud City.
This concludes Collect All 92! through ESB. ROTJ starts next!

I like the original Kenner's ability to sit down. And the soft goods weren't bad for its day.
For some reason one the POTF2 figures had a karate chop pose, probably for dealing with trespassing wookies.
I'm of the mind that the recent releases are too tall. They look nice. But based on recent figures, Bespin Cloud City has gigantism epidemic. Poor Lando is looking shorter all the time.

I like the new versions (even with original heads). Ugnaught was always a great background character...even as a kid I had him tinkering away in the rebel base.

I was the same way. Ugnaught for some reason was my intergalactic Goober. He was always fixing something, for the good guys of course. I don't know why a midget pig man was among my favorite guys, but he was. He holds up surprisingly well sculpt-wise to the modern figures too.
A little paint improvement, and he is fitting in I think. I dug his gear too. His man-pig-bag, and apron, were cool little extras back in the day. I still have the original apron in my vintage parts bin from my original figure, though it's not close to "mint" anymore. I think GI Joes were wearing it, and Vader sometimes when he was cooking or something.
I like the modern figures... I didn't think they were especially tall but I could be wrong. The Ewokks were so it'd make sense I guess. I'm pretty happy with them though, ultimately. There's 4 unique figures, and technically 6 if you do some swapping like Scott did. That's neat. Plus the last ones had that cool console piece too.
I preferred 2-packs for sure though.
A cool extra is that the last one's apron comes off nicely and goes on a Rebel Tech or whatever, to look like he's working on some small intricate stuff. It's a neat accessory if you can get it off the Ugnaught. The POTF2's apron came off too, but was a little more complex, but I think it can fit other figures too. An Imp. Tech might look cool in one working on droids or something.
Now though... Who doesn't want to see the weird human Ugnaught with the hump-back?

In terms of scale, well, Ms. Fisher was short herself. So...I dunno. (Not having any Bespin Leia to compare my BAD Ugnaught with.)

Why is Star Wars full of worker class little people? Even the prequels had Utai and Pit Droids...which aren't people...but even with droids, the small ones do all the chores. We didn't see much of Kashyyyk, but I suspect they have some pint-sized laborers that do all the jobs wookies won't take.

TLC ugnaught needs more definition on his fangs paintjob
vintage version was more piggish, his feet, his face
modern versions humanized them more, but it was due movie accuracy, I guess.
Lee Phenet would be an interesting asset for the collection.

I'd forgotten the Jawa too... And Yoda. Jawa takes the prize though as the first with softgoods.

The cloth-caped Jawas hit in 1978, just after the Sandpeople and Death Squad Commander wave. The Jawa was the very last figure to be released later that year. The cloth replaced the vinyl caped Jawas almost immediately upon release. This is why the vinyl caped Jawas are so rare and command enormous prices. I own a genuine vinyl caped Jawa with several cloth caped ones.

Looks like during vintage era, Kenner refused to sculpt or paint boots (example Bespin Han with boots the same colors as his pants, anh Luke same case; others who wore shoes didnīt have them painted: Bespin Lando, Lobot, Tusken, jawa, etc.
Ugnaught didnīt spot boots in the eighties, but his unique pig feet under special pig shoes.
Later vintage potf produced more characters with black boots; like Carbon Freeze chamber Han Solo and Endor Leia in battle poncho, but Kenner omitted to piant the yellow stripes on both sides of the pants.

A common paint scheme but not exclusively. Luke X-Wing, AT-AT Commander, Star Destroyer Commander, Greedo, Walrus Man, Bossk, Cloud Car Pilot etc. all have different coloured boots.

I was always a little weirded out by them too, thought part of it could've been from my uncle owning a pig farm too. Growing up that way, then seeing little pig guys running around doing sort of devious stuff... It could scar a kid I suppose.
