Watto's Junk Yard / Top 500 Alternative Songs Ever
« on: March 25, 2003, 12:40 PM »
My local radio station (FNX 101.7) ran their Top 500 Alternative Songs Ever over the weekend.  Click on the link for the complete list:

http://www.wfnx.com/1/big500_1.asp

There are songs that I have not heard in years.  I kind of had the feeling Nirvana was going to be #1.  Its a great list for fans of alternative music and a great starting point for anyone interested in some downloading.

Thoughts?

If that's correct, then here goes:

What size pumps did Corporal Max Klinger wear on M*A*S*H?

3 Part Question  :)

Who was Rowdy Roddy Piper's tag team partner in the Wrestlemania I? Who did they spar with? And who were the referees.

(Very Surreal if you ask me :P)

Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff / RRP vs. Hulk Hogan / Mr. T.  Muhammand Ali was the special guest ref.  Piper / Orndorff was accompanied to the ring by Cowboy Bob Orton.  Superfly Jimmy Snuka accompanied Hogan / BA Barracus.

Mine is the number of my favorite Nascar driver, Robby Gordon, driver of the Chevy Monte Carlo Cingular Wireless car.

It used to be the Patriots logo, but now that football season is over, I decided to switch to my current fav sport.  Once baseball season starts I'll probably switch it to the logo of the perpetually cursed BoSox.

Last month's Playboy (not the one with Carmen Electra on the cover) had the women of Spanish TV in it.  Very nice indeed.

It does add a feel of community.

Mikey or Mike is fine, but never Michael.  Only the wife calls me that.

I think a very overlooked collectible line is the Applause figural mugs...
Oh yeah, I forgot about these.  Good call Mike.  They are pretty nice - too nice to be drinking coffee out of for me!  I've got about 8 of these, all OT characters.  I can't recall the total number that were made, but I think I'm still missing at least 4 from the OT...

Matt, here's the OT mugs.  The only one missing is the Luke Skywalker Jedi.  Him and Obi Wan were the hardest to track down.

And mine have never seen the sweet delicious brew of the coffee bean.  That's what my New England Patriots Super Bowl Champions mug is for  ;)

I think a very overlooked collectible line is the Applause figural mugs.  I received one for Xmas one year and then had to have them all.  Unfortunely, mine are all boxed away (as is most of my stuff) but I have big plans for them once I get my own home.  I've been eyeing this wood shoe rack at Target (think cubby style) that would be perfect for displaying these.  I think each mug in its own cubby would look awesome.  Applause only made three for E1 (Jar Jar, Maul and R2) and then went defunct, I believe.  Some other company picked up the mantle for AOTC, but only made Jango and Clonetrooper.  I would love to see these make a return.

Just checked the other lists, and Mikey D is right on target with his choices!  As long as Mike can take a Treadwell Droid instead of Dannik Jerikko, he should be a happy man, assuming Hasbro does what it's told, and uses MY list!   8)   ;)

I must say that some folks around here are getting a tad bit overzealous with their choice of "10" figures though.  This ain't 10 Cinema Scenes or dioramas guys!  Gotta narrow a few of those lists down, eh.   :P

Hasbro should just package the treadwell droid with Dannik and we'll both be happy.  It can be from the ultra rare never before seen footage of when Dannik stopped by Luke's place for a smoke.  ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What does your JD forum member name mean?
« on: March 21, 2003, 04:24 PM »
Mikey is a variation of Michael and the D stands for Davidson, my last name.  Very simple and to the point.  I was known as davidson over at SSG and the early stages of BHC.  When the option of the name change came, I've decided to change but keep it similar.  I'm known as Mikey D over at RS, GH, here and everywhere else I've registered.  If you see the name, it's most likely me.

The avatar is the number of my favorite Nascar driver, Robby Gordon, driver of the Chevy Monte Carlo Cingular Wireless car.  Now that football season is over and I no longer want to display the Pats logo and Nascar is the predominant sport I'll watch until football season begins, the change has been made.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Who actually "exercises," and how?
« on: March 21, 2003, 04:18 PM »
Not as much as I should.

High school was no problem.  I played football in the fall and track and field in the winter and spring.
Even though I hovered around 185 - 190 lbs in HS, I'm 6'-4", so I'm more big boned than round.

College was a complete 180.  Even though I partyed, it  wasn't an issue, but not eating much was.  I actually lost weight.

Now I have the "sit on my ass in front of the computer all day" job and my weight is now up to about 230.  I'm still not round, but I do have a beer gut.

I do play softball during the summer and the occasional volleyball game.  I like to ski, but haven't been in awhile so winters are pretty dead exercise wise, although the occasional game of hockey does take place.

My wife will most likely start to walk after work and I will probably join her.  It's easy and actually very good for you.   And the weather is starting to turn.  Its almost 70 degrees in Boston today and absolutely gorgeous.

Eating wise, I'm not a huge junk food addict.  My only really bad vices are mint chocalate chip ice cream and chocalate covered pretzels.  Fast food is seldom eaten.  I actually do most of the cooking and try to keep it healthly without sacrificing flavor.  Almost always vegetables are made, I bake my french fries instead of frying and red meat is kept to a minimum (about once a week).  The other times are chicken and pork, which is actually not as bad for you as some people make it out to be.

I love obscure aliens and droids, so my picks reflect that:

After #1, these are in no particular order:

1. Hem Dazon - why the first alien seen in the Cantina hasn't been made yet is beyond me
2. Bom Vimdin
3. Dannik Jerriko
4. Elis Helrot
5. Feltipern Trevagg
6. Tonnika Sisters
7. Myo
8. Wioslea
9. CZ-3
10. R1-G4
