Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Actors other movies

Harrison Ford also had a small role in Apocolyps Now, Air FOrce One,Reguarding Henry, What Lies Beneath, The Fugative,......

He also had a substantial role in Force 10 From Navarone. And I can't believe no one mentioned Blade Runner :)

Star Wars Universe / Re: Trivia: EU
« on: September 16, 2003, 09:24 PM »
There may be two answers to this question, depending on what level of EU you follow, I'll go with what I think is the likely answer first:

The Emperor's son is Irek Ismaren, from the Children of the Jedi novel. Irek was the son of Roganda Ismaren, one of the Emperor's Hands, and if I recall correctly Irek was also a potential Force user.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / CW Anakin figure question
« on: September 16, 2003, 09:14 PM »
Does the new Clone Wars Anakin figure have the same droid arm as the Secret Ceremony Anakin figure? Taking a look at this url=http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/clonewars/index.html]image[/url] on the Cartoon Network website, it shows that Anakin has not covered the right hand with synthflesh, so without being able to locate a good pic of the Anakin, can anyone answeer this question?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jedi Points Possiblities
« on: September 16, 2003, 08:10 PM »
My guess is no prototypes will be in the auction. Hasbro is not fond of allowing prototypes to leave their grasps. In the Transformers collecting community there have been a lot of "raids" on sites that post pics of protos and auctions which sell protos. Based on that, I wouldn't think Hasbro would openly sell there own protos, especially when it is supposed to be common procedure for protos to be destroyed when their usefulness runs out. However a lot of what you suggest could come to fruition, leftover exclusives like Jorg or Vader, leftover items from the Fan Club store (still ran by WOTC which is a Hasbro subsidary). I'd love to see some Army Builder sets available, so long as it was affordable for as many people as possible to get their hands on them. I do have a feeling though we will also see tons of unsold stock moved through these auctions, this can be good or bad, we could get stuff that never really made retail like the 2nd wave Ep1 accessory sets but we can also get garbage like returned Jango Fetts that don't even move for $2 at KB. I've yet to count how many Jedi Pts I have, my guess is somewhere around 2500, but I know there are goiong to be people with JPs in the 5 digit range and if these auctions aren't ran right we could see the minority gobble up everything before the majority even has a chance :(

Saga '02-'04 / Re: How Goes the Hunt?
« on: September 16, 2003, 08:00 PM »
I had an interesting weekend on the hunt.

Saturday I was able to score Wave 2 of the Screen Scenes thanks to some nice work by my mom  :P

Sunday I went out and about and visited 8 stores and only had luck at 2, though at almost every store I found something new:
- Target #1: 2 Cases of 4/23 figures were put out for some unknown reason. They also had 3 CW Gunships
- TRU #1: The newest thing was the Bounty Hunter 4-pack though I got that a month ago. Interesting to see a dozen POTJ BoSheks on the pegs while seeing NO Saga carded figures at all
- Wal-Mart #1: They had a couple of cases of the wave that included Hoth Han and Mynock Chewie. They also had tons of Ephant Mon wave figures sans the Ephant Mons of course.
- Target #2: 3 total figures, the recarded Tatooine Luke, musta just missed the Lt. Faytonni figs, D'oh! along with the rotj luke and vader.
- TRU #2: 4 Hoth 4-packs, woo hoo, first score! Found out later in the day afteR I opened the pack that they fixed the broken horn Tauntaun :( This TRU also had about 15 CW Droideka sets with the guy working in that section sayign they were unlikley to order more CW 3-packs until those moved which he knows wont happen cause no one wants them.
- Target #3: Scored the black hair variant RFT, had some other figs from that case, but no Imperial Officers :(
- Walmart #2: They had a couple red hair RFTs and the ugly acklay battle obiwan, but nothing else of importance.
- Target #4: Bare pegs and shelves, the only SW item was a non-electronic lightsaber.

Though I didn't find a lot of stuff I wanted, it was nice to see that 7 of the 8 stores at least had something that had came out in the last month.

Then on monday, my Target exclusive A-Wing came to me in the mail, what a sweet looking ship. And no matter what anyone might say, well worth the $20 when compared to the previous POTF2 A-Wing.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Screen Scenes: first wave vs. the second wave
« on: September 16, 2003, 07:48 PM »
I was lucky enough to get the Wave 2 sets the other night (still no luck with finding Wave 1) and I'm a bit disappointed with the sets so far. While the sculpts look top notch, there are parts of the figures that are just lacking. For instance only one figure in each set has waist articulation, thats just an embarrasment right there in my eyes. Waist articulation is one of the most basic necessities of most figures. The fact that in each set there is a figure that has its torso and legs as one full piece is bothersome. Of the 6 figures in the set, Yarael Poof is the best as it has a nice sculpt, great use of soft goods and an adequate amount of articulation. Considering these sets are an average price of $20, Hasbro should have gone out of their way to make the figures more of a premium quality that your average figures. When looking back at the old Cinema Scenes, each figure there got the 6 basic points of articulation and if necessary something extra, but thats not to be seen here. Overall they are nice sets, but I think Hasbro could have taken the extra steps to make the figures even nicer (or in some cases more standard) for the price point. All I ask is for Hasbro to work within the guidelines they themselves have set in the past and that our still logical and cost-efficient today.

great looking whistler there. how'd you have the patience to do the lines on the dome is beyond me :) I did a whistler much like that once, but couldn't paint straight enough to get that effect so i did a combo whistler from I, Jedi and Union...

sounds like a sweet deal, what kind of figures are these? are they those generic cops, firemen, army guys or something else? can't wait to see pics, more good fodder is a must have!

Vintage Kenner / Re: Double Telescoping Saber DT Ben
« on: September 12, 2003, 07:42 PM »
I think compared to the price of what an actual DT Ben complete would go for, this isn't a bad deal. You can now just give the saber to a Ben you paid $10 for. Question though arises, having not ever had the privlege of seeing a DT saber up close, is the saber broken? I wouldn't think that the thin portion would be designed to pop out of the thicker portion.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Vintage ebaY auction wins!
« on: September 12, 2003, 07:40 PM »
I recently won some auctions on eBay for the first time in 4 years (hadn't really been trying until recently) and got some nice deals.

- A loose blonde Tatooine Luke near mint, just has a couple of scuffs on his hands, but is really nice and white for $6

- A pair of loose battle damaged vehicles, the X-Wing and TIE Fighter for $35, in overall good condition, but missing the BD stickers :(

- A Droids Side Gunner complete w/ box, instructions and planetary map for $40. Problem is the large grey "wing" on the side is getting to be  a nasty yellow and I cant figure out how to take it off and swap it with another Side Gunner I have.

Vintage Kenner / Re: All's now well. No more collecting issues :)
« on: September 12, 2003, 07:36 PM »
Loose is definitely the way to go when it comes to modern collecting, just because most of the packaging nowadays looks weak and the toys look so much cooler loose. In vintage its the way to go because its just so much cheaper. Welcome back to the fold in both regards :)

Star Wars Ships and Vehicles / Re: Micheal Fright's Millenium Falcon FS
« on: September 12, 2003, 07:32 PM »
Hmm...  That would likely explain the much more modest auction description and price, I suppose...  Probably just had a buddy list it for him, since his own name occassionally draws some ire and razzing from the masses!   :-*

Modest for sure, where was the mentioning of the guy who runs the movie theater in that auction description?!?!

It's not his name that draws the ire and razzing, its his "my poop don't stink" attitude that ticks people off. But hell if he can pull of a 1:1 Coruscant.....  ;D
