Man...I can't wait to get this set. When is the official release date for this?

The official release is the 6th, but I guess a fair number of Walmarts aren't waiting to put them out until then.

I just called my three local Walmarts in hopes of having them look up the item using the UPC code posted above. Two of them didn't have anyone answer in the toy department after about 5 minutes on hold, but I did talk to someone at the third. She said they didn't have any in stock, but there were two scheduled to arrive tonight (I didn't realize Walmart had such precise control over their stock). She said it would be put out tonight, but I'm not sure if that is actually the case given the street date on it. Does anybody know when the best time to go might be, if I did want to check tonight?

Looks like they're going to use the "cardboard background as a chase" thing for all of the DX series, unless I miss my guess.

Finally got my background today, so I can display all of my Jabba Kubricks together. I'll have to say, the background does add something. Am I correct in thinking that the Yak Face chase is the only one I'm missing from Jabba's palace?

I finally got my Jabba set from DAToys today (I say "finally" because I've been waiting a long time for the set, not because DAToys took a long time shipping -- they were quite speedy). It's really quite nice, although I'll have to say that without the build-a-Jabba this series would have been fairly boring to me, even though I'm a Jabba fanatic. I'm just not that enthusiastic about slightly redone versions of figures. But anyway, LOVE the Jabba.

I was kind of frustrated hearing about all of the people scoring the cardboard backgrounds relatively cheaply from BBTS and ebay, so I decided to make an offer of $40 on one that was being sold on ebay for $99.99. It turns out that they accepted my offer! They still seem to have some left, so if you want to try making an offer you might be able to get one as well. Here is the auction:

So how did you get the display for $38.99? Was it a buy-it-now or a best offer kind of situation?

I guess the 30th came early this year.
