Jedi News UK has info up on their front page about the new TCW Mail Away figure for Fall 2010, none other than the estimable Sergeant Bric.
Can't go wrong with more clones, I guess.

I'm fine w/ this mail-away as long as it isn't a normal, plain clone. And IF it is a clone, I hope Hasbro does the "carbon scoring" wash on his armor.
-
A weird image turned up in Rebelscum's forums, of what appears to be the 2nd Mail-In Promo for 2010 for the Clone Wars. It's the play mat to the card game, and none other than...
Sergeant Bric!
(http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/010CWPromo_SgtBricRedempForm01_TN.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/image.pl?http://www.jedidefender.com/news/images/1-08/010CWPromo_SgtBricRedempForm01_Full.jpg)
Yes, Bric Tamlin I think is his name.
Anyway, yeah, who knows who he is. He looks like a mishmash of armors and a Brainiac head (animated looking, but not too much so).
-
I personally am not going "whooptie-doo" over this mail-away in any form, mainly because it has to do with that "Battle Game" mat. Sgt. Bric does look pretty interesting because of the hints of stormtrooper armor!
-
What's the point in having all that armor if your big freakin melon is so exposed?
-
That's funny, he would appear to be a Separatist, but Hasbro clearly alluded to a Clone pack-in with this offer in the most recent round of Q&A.
Looks like he will make a bad-ass figure to me, either way.
Odd that RS didn't see fit to hype this on their own front page.
-
I totally dig him in a "who the heck is he" type of way. Kind of reminds me of looking at the mail away Fett on 1978.
-
Could he be someone that the Republic brings in to train a special group/squad of Clones?
-
I could see that.
It'd be neat to see the Entertainment Earth Mandalorians somehow turn up in the series, but that's not likely to happen. :(
-
I have loads of the Red/White Legacy Collection & Clone Wars figures - heck from the EU wave I have 14 each of the Dark Trooper and Spacetrooper - I could totally use their UPCs to order both Fett and Bric now that I have the certificates.
So here's an intriguing question...
Do you think it's okay to send it in now or should we all probably wait to mail everything until August 6th?
-
Packaged Shot at JediNews.uk (http://www.jedinews.co.uk/images/news/articles/galacticbattlemat060710.jpg)
-
I'd still shoot for his melon.....Good base for the kiddos though with the "battle mat"
-
Looks pretty damn cool, can't wait to see him in Season 3!
-
My TRU has a ton on blue clone wars figures. They all have the certificate for this figure in them. It says you can get the cert at starwars.hasbro.com but I havn't found the link yet. It's like they never update that site.
-
I am still confused on this offer - I bought the Pre Visla figure or whatever his name is and he just came with a form offering the battlemat - not the battlemat and the figure.
So are there 2 different offerings? Or did Hasbro change it to the mat + the figure and are they going to send both things to people who mail in the form with just the mat offer?
-
At one point, they were going to be two separate mail-away things, which is why the first wave has some "mat only" forms. All signs point to just one give-away now though, meaning if you send in the "mat only" form, you should still get the Bric figure as well (based on the cost and address of the form).
-
Ahh, cool, I was about to ask the same question. Well hopefully that is the case since I only really want the figure, and don't care to pay 6.99 for a battle mat I'll never use.
-

Same here. I'm probably gonna throw the mat in a drawer and forget about it. ;D
-
How's this for bizarre: I mailed the check for Sgt. Bric on 07/24/2010, and I just noticed that it had been cashed on 07/29/2010. This is the fastest I've ever seen a turnaround on a mailaway figure, at least as far as the check-cashing goes. He probably still won't show up for several weeks (if not months), but I just thought I'd pass this along so everyone else could be on the lookout as well.
-
Something tells me this promotion won't run out, unlike Qui-Gon/Eopie and Nahdar Vebb. ::)
-
I hae to mail away for this, wish i could find some of the clone wars figures i actually want.

You might someone on here who can get you the UPCs and form or even mail away for you if you foot the bill. ;)
-
Usually the forms become available to print out on Hasbro too, if they aren't there already.

I'm more than happy to do that if you know someone ;D

Its funny how the package refers to the hasbro web site for details on the offer but the site hasn't been updated in about a year. Are they still doing that free toy giveaway?

No, it expired on July 31.
-
the site hasn't been updated in about a year.
The "news" hasn't been updated, but they were updating and posting info on the other offers - Vebb, the free Saga Legends figures, the free gear give-away.
I am sure the reason the site isn't updated with the Fett/Bric mail-away info is probably because the stuff isn't technically "officially" out yet. Maybe they never let the web guys know to post the info since the figures were being sold a month ahead of schedule...
No, it expired on July 31.
Purchase had to be made by July 31st, but the dead-line for mailing is August 16th. Maybe they are waiting for that post-mark date deadline before removing the "free gear" offer and posting the Bric/Fett ones.
All the other offers/forms have been posted at some point, so I'm 100% positive that the Bric and Fett offers will be published/promoed at the regular Hasbro site and probably at HasbroToyShop as well.
-
Does anyone have a scan of the mail away certificate? I can't find it on Hasbro's site.
-
I have a jpeg of the order form but can't figure out how to post it here. Will try later when I have more time.
I sent away for this yesterday...had to buy an extra Camo ARF Trooper just to get the fifth UPC. Kind of a waste, but oh well.
-
Picked up an Arrura Sing just to get the cert. The check is in the mail.
-
I noticed the other day that my check has already been cashed for this.
-
Aw yeah, looks like my check was cashed this past Friday! 8)
-
I'm definitely looking forward to this mail-away, especially since we know what Bric's character is like in the Season 3 premiere yesterday. He's definitely bad-ass! 8)
-
I'm actually less excited after seeing him in the show last night. What a d*ck!
I also absolutely hated the voice they gave him, completely missed the mark IMO.
But it'll still be a cool figure.
I kind of want the other drill sergeant dude now too.
-
I actually became more excited to get this, after the show. Before, I was like, who was this guy?
-

Yeah, I have to admit, I haven't even sent away for this yet - but after seeing the episode, now I want one. Kind of a cool character.
-
Wondering when these will start to ship...seems like it is lagging significantly behind the Fetts, although they both started at the exact same time.
Anyone heard or read of these arriving yet?
Last time I checked, I did not even see any up on eBay...curious.
-
Although the mail-away offers started at roughly the same time, production on the figures did not.
Hasbro started production on Fett much earlier than Bric so they would have a supply of Rocket Fetts to give out at Celebration V (which they did - Rocket Fett was free with a TVC RotS wave case purchase at the Hasbro booth).
-
if it is any sort of indication to ya - I sent my check in on 8/2/10 and it was cashed on 8/10/10. So maybe I will be seeing it soon?
on a related note, I just sent in for my Fett on 9/22/10 and the check for it was cashed on 9/28/10.
Seems to me like they may processing this stuff faster than in the past.
-
Thanks that makes sense, esp the bit about CV and needing a head start. Might even be a good thing as the promotion may end up lasting longer. Or rather, the supply may. I wouldn't mind having two, but I won't have enough UPC's for another until 2 more waves from now. (Considering I open very few figures, several good ones coming up though)
-
Seven weeks and counting now since check was cashed. I hope someone asks about this in the next round of Q&A. Dude is totally MIA...
-
I read last night on the RS forums that at least one guy has gotten this, but he ordered NINE (!) so they just sent him a whole case. No reports that I can find of anyone receiving any singles. I assume they ship the biggest orders first, so that follows. At least we know they made it out of the factory.
I gather you can call Hasbro Customer Service and find out if your name was on the list for the first batch sent out, which should be arriving in the next 1-2 weeks. Might try that later, but I'm not sure I'll want to hear if my name isn't on there.

got mine today:

Crap - forgot about this guy and UPCs are in short supply....sigh. Interesting packaging.
-
got mine today:
I got both of mine today too. One mailer box was all crushed up, but the toy inside survived quite well. The other set arrived in minty shape. A much better experience than the two ruined RocketFetts that I got in the mail a few weeks ago.
-
Funny how TCW mail-aways seem to be in pristine shape most of the time (Nahdar, Sgt. Bric), but the more-demanded rocket-firing Fett arrives in terrible shape.
-
Yeah, it's a massive conspiracy. ;)
-
I received both my Bric's yesterday (both in great shape). Bric is a great figure. The battle mat is kind of whatever, but a nice little package.
-
I got mine today. ;D
The shipping package was slightly dinged, but the contents therein were immaculate. Very impressed.
I have to have another of these now, just for "openers".
-
Got mine today!
It came in great shape even though the outerpackage wasn't sealed.
-
Got Sgt. Bric yesterday, forgot to post... He's outstanding, really. I'm going to order another one because it's just that much awesome. Love his blaster pistol, and the sculpting is great. A LITTLE animated for my liking, so I'm going to nab a 2nd to replace the boots I think. The boots are always just a tad too skinny looking to me.
The headsculpt though, really top-notch and just odd enough to not look too much animated or too much realistic. It's the perfect in-between. Cool stuff though, and really a nice bulky mail-away. Between this and the Eopie, Hasbro's put out some doozies.
-
Has anyone gotten one of these in the mail lately? I sent for mine in the Fall and haven't heard many/any deliveries since early November I don't think...

Nope, I'm still waiting on the one I ordered in November as well. The check was cashed long ago too.
I guess in the absence of any update postcard, they're just working on a new batch.
-

Hey Adam, I just received my second Bric yesterday in the mail, so they must be shipping again now. Showed up in pretty good shape too.
Think I'm done with this promotion now...hope it's not really the last one.
-

That's good to hear, I sent away for four of him back in November, hopefully, mine are on their way soon as well...
-
Received one of mine today, but I can't say I remember when I sent for it. Cool deal, even if I miss the old days of a mail away being free rather than the regular cost of a figure.
-
I got both of mine today too. I swear I ordered one in November and one just a few weeks ago. Pretty cool figure, but I could do without the bulky package and battle mat thingie.
-
Still waiting for mine...I sent it in right before Christmas I think :-\
-

Unfortunately, me too - my payments were all cashed, now I just gotta wait for the six of them to arrive. :-\
-
I sent in for 2 of these. I may send in for one or two more, but I don't know if Bric will really have any trade value.
-
Has anyone had a Sgt. Bric arrive recently?
I'm starting to become concerned that they may have run out of him and aren't planning on making a second run...
Nevermind - almost as if I jinxed the situation in my favor - all six of the Sgt. Bric sets I sent away for arrived today.
-
That's awesome Pete, apparently some people are already getting the Postcard of Ultimate Doom. (backordered)
-
I sent away for two pretty late. But I did get confirmation that those checks have been cashed.
-

Did it say if Hasbro is going to be making another production, or are they just returning the checks? I still haven't mailed away for my Bric yet, but I gotta say that it's more out of disinterest than procrastination.
-
I don't recall what exactly the postcards said, but something to the effect that they were backordered. There was no mention of not being able to fill the existing orders to my knowledge.
-
I just got mine a week or so ago (sent away for mine late), and I think it is a pretty nice mail away. Although the "game mat" isn't necessarily anything most collectors would care too much about, I was actually sort of impressed with it. Maybe it was just my love of the "carrying case" nostalgia from the vintage line, but I gave it to our daughter and she thought it was pretty spiffy to pack her CW figures into. Just another example of how the CW line sort of reminds me of how the vintage line worked when I was a kid. Oh, and the figure is really nice too :).
-
Anyone end up with a spare that they don’t want? A friend of mine is looking for one.
-
I'm still waiting for my 2...I did get my Bobas that I sent for at the same time :-[
-
Ok, I'm very late sending these off, but I still want a Bric figure (thanks to Jesse for the reminder)
I just want to be sure about the assortment numbers. Fixing to cut some UPC's off the bottom of some of the first Clone Wars figures (on the blue & white helmet cards) These will work right? I see the assortment numbers on the form saying 87638. I'm looking at the bottom of a Cody figure and it says 87812 right above the UPC. This is within the realm of the allowable UPC's right?
Pardon my lack of knowledge, but I just want to be sure before I go carving up the bottom of my cards.
Thanks.
-
Yes, the blue/white UPCs are fine. You want to look at the asst. number on front of the card up on the rangerfinder. The only basic figures UPCs that don't qualify are Clone Wars exclusive figures (Rex, Holo Grievous, Cmdr. Fox, 501st Clone etc.).
-
Thanks Jayson!
It's so small I didn't see it. Proceeding to cut some UPC's.
-
Yeah that's probably where most of my UPC's I used for anything the past year came from... I ordered most of my stuff before a ton of things I wanted on Vintage or CW 2011 cards were out.
-
Yeah that's probably where most of my UPC's I used for anything the past year came from... I ordered most of my stuff before a ton of things I wanted on Vintage or CW 2011 cards were out.
I cut one UPC out from a blue card, then I remembered that I keep all the inserts to all the figures I opened in the last 10 years or so and the UPC is attached. ::) Did some digging through the mountain of inserts and cards, low and behold I found at least 10 of them I opened already (though 1 was the unqualified 501st Walmart Clone Jayson mentioned - thanks again)
I had enough for 2 Sgt. Bric's. Sent them off today (fingers crossed)
-
I'm now at the worried stage. My Fetts came 6 weeks ago and I sent for these at the same time. :-[
-
They cashed my checks last week so I'm hoping they're on the way, but just because they cashed them doesn't make it so? ???
-
I ordered a Bric near the deadline and got a notice today in the mail that my order is delayed till like July 27th or something along those lines. It's a ways off. Just thought I'd give a heads up to those who ordered another last-minute as I did.
-
Whew, good thing they are doing away with these unpopular Clone Wars mailaway promotions. ::)
-
It's a weird thing... They may just feel they don't need the promo because the line does so well on its own. Popularity aside.
Or they may just cost too much. Bric had to be pricey.
-
I got the post card today, too. I can wait. Clone Wars figures are generally a lower priority for me, so it's not that big of a deal for me to wait until July. Bric was in what, ONE episode in Season 3? As long as I get him before Season 4 premieres I'll be fine.
-
For those who have received the post card, have your checks been cashed? My check was cashed on 3/31 but haven't received the post card yet. I'm not in a hurry to get my 1 Bric but was just curious.
-
My checks were cashed, and I sent my redemption forms in either in late February or early March. Even though I got the post card, I FULLY expect Hasbro to get my Sgt. Brics to me. I cannot imagine that they would want to start sending out refund checks. And with the timeframe that the post cards have given us, it seems that Hasbro is probably ordering another run of figures so that they can process the outstanding orders.
-
My checks were cashed 1/21 and I have not seen Bric yet
-
Whew, good thing they are doing away with these unpopular Clone Wars mailaway promotions. ::)
I was thinking the same thing McMetal.
I agree with what Jesse said re: the popularity of the line, but I think another factor may have been demand pre-Holidays vs. post-Holidays. I could see a lot of kids getting figures for Xmas (for example) and also getting $$ which might translate into ordering the game mat and Bric. That holiday rush could be something that took Hasbro by surprise.
-
That's a good point Pete, I hadn't even considered that but it makes a lot of sense.
My check was cashed not long after the due-date actually, and I sent mine in the last week I was eligible since it was just an extra.
-
Cool, I got my Sergeant Bric delay post card in the mail today.
-
Got my delay notice today also. It says July 17th. I can wait.
-
Got a couple of Bric's today! :) Keep your eyes peeled if you received the postcard-
-
Got mine...mailer box and package were kinda squashed...but I'm gonna open him anyway...unless he's going for a lot. ;)
-
$30 at the local Toy Show. :-X
-
Got one of these today. It's cool. Getting mail-ins is awesome. :)
