Overlord has an auction running for a complete set of series 1, with both Boba Fett chase figures.

Star Wars Medicom Kubrick Series 1 complete set of 8

Should be interesting to see what the final will be!

The AFA will grade anything. Even a smashed up card!

Lowest AFA Grade?

Just because it graded by them, people demand more money for the item!  ::)

Madness!

Surprisingly, that auction wound up ending at a measely $204.  That's really not too bad when you consider that the two Fett variants each wound up often hitting the $100 range quite often.  Kinda like buying the two chase figures, and getting the regular 6 Bounty Hunters for free...

I can't believe AFA are doing this.
Carded Luke Skywalker Kubrick AFA85

What's really crazy there Simon, is that the seller has a $650 BIN price on that auction!  Eegads!  Maybe a carded Kubrick Fett with that AFA grade could pull that kind of coin, but not the Luke!   ::)

BTW, any word out there in Japan yet on Wave 2?  Are we still stuck waiting until sometime in November?  This is getting really boring!  This was the hottest thread on our board for quite a while (the prior 17 page version anyway), but now it's fizzled out to a mere whimper.  I want that Wave 2, and I want some news to start leaking on Wave 3!  Any idea what the usual turnout rate is on these guys from wave to wave?  Is it really just a couple waves per year, per license?  Or do you think it will get a little better, and eventually start to speed up some?   :'(

And lastly, a little refresher course to get the excitement going again...  8)

Damn, you guys sure ain't payin' much attention, are you?!  Hasn't anyone even noticed that the Chase figure for the next wave was both confirmed and announced recently?  And I know that some of you probably even glanced right past the news!  Check your latest Insider magazines (#71), on page 34 right under the dang Kubrick picture:

"Blah, blah, blah...  The follow-up wave includes two Sandtroopers, Obi-Wan, Greedo, Han Solo, a Tusken Raider, and a Cantina Band Member..."

Sheesh!  Pay attention fellas!  Or at least try brushing up on some SW reading from time to time...   ::)   :P

Granted this certainly isn't earth shattering news at all, since it's exactly what most of us predicted right here a while back, since the Sandtrooper made the most sense for a variant.  Glad to hear it's probably only going to be one Chase figure this time 'round, as opposed to the 2 Fetts the last go 'round.  So, what's your money on - a white, or a black shoulder pauldron for the Chase figure?  I'd say it's a 50/50 shot, so I'll just go with black, since it would contrast against the figure a little better and probably look a little more exciting.  Though there's probably more white pauldrons in the actual movie...

Nice to see our little guys getting some collecting coverage from the Big Dogs though!

More from the Insider:
Medicom's Star Wars Kubrick figures from Japan are tough to find in the U.S., but they're so cool that we had to include them in the gift guide.  The attention to detail shows us that these toys were created by true fans who clearly respect the history of Star Wars and collecting...   8)

Interesting news from the Insider magazine. I guess it helps if you get the magazine!  :P

The release date is still 11/2003. Nothing has changed on that as far as I know. HLJ will send me an email once they ship my cases. You know when they start to hit is when they start showing up on eBay which a Pre-Order for a case has shown up!

MEDICOM KUBRICK STAR WARS SERIES 2 BOX

As for a variant Sandtrooper, it could be the shoulder pauldron then again it could be a clean or dirty version!  ;D

The Kubrick Site carded Luke figures should also start shipping in November, so hopefully we can snag them at a good price on eBay.

Im definately looking forward to Wave 2 :) I'm probably going to try to order a case again, so if anyone want to get in on the deal and share costs, let me know.

To be honest, I dont really mind the lull in the release of these. As long as they keep up the awesome quality, Im willing to wait it out...

I reckon there might yet be two chase figures. Maybe Medicom are keeping one under wraps for the moment.  Maybe 3 sandtroopers with orange, white and grey shoulder pads.
