Vader on the 4-day pass. Sweet. 8) 8) 8)
I better not get that bloody Ewok. >:(
-
The risk of getting that Ewok cinches me not attending.
-
The Ewok does not scare me but the punch holes like they had at C3 does. :-\
-
I think the Ewok is only for the kiddies no ?
I look forward to getting the full set for nostalgia. Anyone remember how much they ran last time from SWS.com ?
-
I better not get that bloody Ewok. >:(
If you get it I'll trade you.

-

I had a question for all the experts out there. I just bought my Celebration ticket the other night online for Friday May 25th. And what I don't understand is when can I show up for the show?? According to the site it runs 24hrs a day till Tuesday, but yet it also states that the show hours each day are 9am-Midnight. So do I line up outside before 9am on Friday, or can I just walk in after Midnight early Friday morning?? Cause when i bought my ticket the hours on it said Midnight-11:59pm May 25th?? WTF?? So I guess you can see my confusion. If any has any help on this it will be greatly appreciated!! Hope everyone has a great time there.

You won't be let in the doors until 9am Friday morning and would hopefully get there early in line since the lines can get long to get in.
-
Oh thank you. I didn't wanna mess that up. And yes I will be arriving very early in the wee hours of the morning. I know all about the horrid lines of Celebration. Is 4:30am too early?? hehe. Kidding. or maybe not. So is there any advantage at all to being pre-reg'd early besides being able to skip the registration booth??

The Store will be open 24 hours a day, whereas the rest of the convention follows the 9am - midnight schedule. The store is open on Thursday but only for Fan Club members, so without membership I believe you won't get in until Friday morning at 9am.
What I don't understand is how they will control the front doors (Fri to Sun) since you should be able to go in anytime to get to the store, but you're not allowed into the convention until 9am?
-
Yeah I am wondering about that too. I guess for single day badge memebers we will get the shaft where as the 4 day memebers will be able to go into the store whenever they want all 4 days. I guess we won't know until the convention starts how they will handle it. Fortunatly I have a buddy who is a 4 day member and said he will help me out with the exclusives if need be, so not too much concern yet. My other question will be regarding the parking situation. How full will it be and where else will we be able to go. Gonna have to do a trial run of the area the week before and scope it out. I am sure it won't be as easy as San Diego where you can just drive to the underground lot where there was tons of parking available for Comic Con.
-
If I remember correctly, C3 had two lines - one for those that HAD their pass and could go in when the doors opened and another line for those that NEEDED their pass. Once those individuals got their pass, they just wondered into the mass of people already past them. I thought there was some complaining about the people that needed to pick up their pass, (they got to go straight into the convention afterwards and a lot of people where still streamming in from being wrapped around the block for 1/2 mile) but I am not sure.
So FalconClones, you might want to make sure you are in the right line....just in case they handle it the same way at C4.

Speaking of which.... anyone have any idea when we'll be mailed the passes? Sure.. we have a month + to go but I want my badge secure in hand well before my flight leaves on the 23rd ;D

From the Gen-Con site (http://www.gencon.com/2007/swciv/info/FAQ.aspx#registration):
Q: When will I receive my badge in the mail?
Badges will begin shipping in mid April. If you do not receive your packet by May 4th, please contact registration@gencon.com. Include your full name and address with your correspondence.

Was just on the CIV site last night and this has been changed. It now states that passes will be mailed starting April 23rd and if you don't receive your badge by May 14th then you should contact Gen Con. Also i was able to score a fast path ticket last night, they are now open to all badge memebers single and 4 day. I only have a Friday badge and I got a fast path reservation for 7pm-9pm on Friday. Since I ordered the Fasth Path later I will have to pick that up at Will Call it said. Anyone know where Will Call will be inside the Hall??
-
Anyone know where Will Call will be inside the Hall??
Gen Con has provided a map for the Exhibitor's Hall, but I don't think they've done a map of the rest of the events yet. At C3 the Will Call area was immediately to the right once inside the main doors, so I imagine it should be pretty close to the front doors at CIV.

Just received an e-mail from Gen Con:
Star Wars Celebration IV Update Regarding “Ship to Me” Badges!
Badge Ship-Out
Due to an unfortunate delay in receiving packet materials, badge ship-out was delayed. Badges are currently in the process of being shipped and started to go out the week of April 23, 2007. If you selected to have your badges shipped to you and you do not receive your badge by May 14th please contact Aleta Mullen at customerservice@gencon.com and she will be happy to assist you.
Fan Club Membership Verification
If you do not receive your Fan Club lanyard and Friends & Family coupons with your badge in the mail out packet despite being a Fan Club member please see the Fan Club Information booth onsite at the Convention Center. Upon verifying your membership you will receive your lanyard and coupons. If you are interested in purchasing a Fan Club membership while at the show, please go to the Badge Registration booth to purchase your membership.
Also note:
Badges and tickets for Star Wars Celebration IV will be sold on-site at the show, starting Wednesday May 23 at 12 noon PDT.
-
Well, I got my pass and laynard today. Also got the family passes so if anyone needs these, let me know...
I didn't realize the convention didn't open until 10:00 Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon. I thought I read it was a 9:00am opening. It doesn't state in the letter where the will-call booth will be, only what doors to use to enter for the convention center and the store.
-
According to the Gen Con (http://www.gencon.com/2007/swciv/info/general.aspx#hours) site, the hours are 9am opening but that is tenative & I see no changes thus far.
Tentative Show Hours*:
Thursday, May 24**: Noon-Midnight
Friday, May 25: 9am-Midnight
Saturday, May 26: 9am-Midnight
Sunday, May 27: 9am-Midnight
Monday, May 28: 9am-4pm
*Show hours might change. Check starwars.com for updates.
**Only Official Star Wars Fan Club Members who have purchased a 4-Day Badge will have access to the show this day.
Maybe the 10am is for regular door opening & 9am is for fan club members.
-
Well, the printout inside the envelope states:
Thursday 12pm-8pm for just about every event for the day
Friday 10am-7pm for same as above
Saturday 10am-7pm for same as above
Sunday 10am-7pm for same as above
Monday 10am-4pm for same as above
Some events (Vader helmet art exhibit, family room, Lucasfilm archieve) close at 6pm.
I know my volunteer schedule states I need to be to the autogrpah hall at 9:30 Friday, which makes sense because we have to be there 1/2 hour before the doors open and Thursday, my shift ends at 8:30 (1/2 hour after close).
I was really hoping that the con would last longer than 8pm....I guess I'll head over to the store then and stand in line :P
PS: Nothing is open until midnight except the store, which runs 24 hours until 2pm Monday.
-
They could have changed the times & not even posted/mentioned a thing online. Heck, I'm reading at RS some people are getting badges in the mail & are not complete. Missing ethier Hyperspace lanyards, quick path store passes, movie marathon passes, F&F passes depending on what they wanted.
Good thing I pick mine up at will call & I can check it all out.
Thanks for the times Beth, really helps out. :)
-
Hmmmm, so there's not an early entrance for FC members each day? Not that we really need it with a FC only day, but isn't that how it worked at C2 and C3? Or was it just the first day we got in early?
-
IIRC, I had F&F passes for C3, I used 1 to get in the fan club line & another 1 for the dealers room on the 1st day . I did the same thing for the 2nd day.
-
Oh, the fan club allowed you in the first hour early at C2 & C3 but there was no way in hell they could control the crowd once those doors opened. My husband had a laynard that was similiar to mine and when he tried to hand the lady the family pass, she just barked at him to keep moving.....
I think they learned their lesson because I honestly think it took some fan club members almost an hour to get INTO the place once the door opened!!!
This year, I assume the passes are for Thursday and the Fan Club lounge.
-
A friend of mine got his badge but no lanyard. Does he pick one up at the information desk?
-
Yeah, he has to verify fanclub membership at a special booth and pick up a lanyard. >:(
-
As of yesterday still nothing here.
-
Yeah, he has to verify fanclub membership at a special booth and pick up a lanyard. >:(
Looks like I'll have to waste my time and do the same. I didnt get my lanyard or the passes for Thursday. >:(

Rob or anyone else who needs a lanyard, I may have an extra set of badges coming my way. Not sure if GenCon would cancel an order or not (if they did cancel they owe me money). I ended up ordering a badge on the first day they went up but used an old account name (which I forgot) when I tried to order a fastpass for the store, later, I had to order another pass. So if I get the extra lanyard someone here can have it.

Got my badge last night. I was lucky to receive it complete with lanyard.

Hello all!! Got my badge as well a couple of days ago, the Friday badge with Slave girl Leia on the front. Cool looking. Anyways have another couple of questions for anyone knowing since Gen Con will not reply to my e-mails. Here they are,
1. Parking- Still have not seen any info posted on which lots will be open and at what times they will open. I plan on lining up rather early in the morning but I just wanna make sure there will be a lot to park in at that time. I know for sure the Convention lots will be accessible but when will they open?? Cost of the lots is of no concern to me. Just need to know when they are opened.
2. Fast Path - I also ordered a Fast Path line pass for the store at 7pm-9pm on Friday. Since I ordered this well after my badge I was told to get this at Will Call at the convention. According to the schedule which came with my badge it said Will Call will be open on May 21st at 4pm on site. Not sure what that means so I was wondering can I just run down there on the 21st and pick up my Fast Path ticket for Friday, or do I need to wait till Friday to pick it up?? Just trying to cut down on line wait times as much as possible.
Well that's all the questions I have left, I am good on everything else. Hope everyone has a good time!!
-
Well I got a quick response back from Aleta from Gen Con and she said that she will have a packet with all my stuff waiting for me at the Will Call booth so hopefully it'll all be taken care of. :crosses fingers:

Hey MetalJedi was that by e-mail or phone? I think I have been contacting the wrong group. I contacted Gen Con customer service. I do remember seeing Aleta on the schedule thing with my badge, so that is the person to contact?

Yes she is the person to contact.
-
Cool, thanks. I just e-mailed her or him. Thanks for the help fellas!!
-
Badge? Check.
Lanyard? Check.
F&F Passes? Check.
Store Fast Path Coupon? Check.
Sweet!
-
I didn't get anything for the Quickpath or Carried Fisher. I think i need to send an email.
-
I remember reading that Carrie Fisher is a will call only event.
-
I received pretty much everything I ordered (badges, fast passes, movie tickets, F&F, lanyards). My package was missing two lanyards and they gave me an extra adult pass in place of one of the childs pass I ordered. I'm going to contact them regarding the lanyards but don't know if they'll make a big deal about my son using the adult pass they sent. One question though, are these passes everything we are going to need to get into the convention or do we still need to go through a registration process like at SDCC?
-
The badges (and lanyards and/or F&F coupons) are all you'll need to get in.
-
I got an email from Lucasfilm saying they verified my FC membership adn that my stuff with definately be at will call. I'm surprised by the fast contact so I'm hoping that it'll be a done deal when I get there on Thursday.
-

Has everyone gotten their badges so far? I haven't gotten anything yet >:(
-
I got one in the mail yesterday. And from the way my mom described it to me it seems they left off my fanclub lanyard. >:(
-
I got mine and the lanyard but none ofmy other purchases. (e.g. Quick Path, Carrie Fisher , Movie Marathon).
-
Went to the Convention Center today to pick up my lanyard and Fan Club passes, it went really smooth, there wasn't alot of people there but it looked like there was a line starting already for Thursdays opening.
-
Boy, that sure is a long wait for Thursday opening.
-
I didn't ask specifically if it was or not but a sign said Star Wars line queue so I'm just assuming. But your right it is a very long wait.

Uck. Smelly fanboys. :o
Could they be waiting for the movie marathon tomorrow?

Well some of the people that were in there to get their badges needed some of those wet naps. :-X

So this is the flipside of C3 in Indy, huh? There we froze and in LA we'll sweat and get a little rank. Can't there be a happy medium?!?!
-
It's supposed to be in the low 70s in LA this week/weekend so it shouldn't be too bad. Hopefully they'll have the air running cause it was hot as hell inside the convention center.
-
So can I ask why JD doesn't have a convention badge that someone can wear along with the normal C$ badge? SSG has a printable version which would be good for this late of an idea*.
* Sorry if this has been asked somewhere else.
-
I was hoping too !

Mostly because of psychos at other sites that target JD people and want to beat them up. Or so they say ;)

What are we in the 3rd grade?

This whole admission badge not getting in the mail has kind of screwed me and my master plan... I'm only going to be able to attend the show on Saturday & Sunday. My flight arrives in LA on Friday around 7:30PM. I was going to take advantage of the 24 hour store. I had my "fast pass" scheduled for late Friday night so that I can get my Figures and get out and enjoy the show on Saturday and Sunday. Now because I didn't get my badges in the mail (WHICH WERE PURCHASED ON THE DAY THEY WENT ON SALE!!), I have to go to Will Call (WHICH IS CLOSED WHEN I GET THERE ON FRIDAY) on Saturday. I can't go to the C4 Store on Friday becuase I won't have a STUPID badge to get punched. I'll probably face hours of lines at the C4 store on Saturday. Please explain to me how something that was purchased 7 MONTHS AGO has to be picked up at Will Call. Damn exclusive figures. Sorry, I just had to rant.
