Other Toy Lines / Re: M.A.S.K.

I still have my Condor (the green motorcycle that turns into a helicopter) and I wish I still had my Raven. That was by far the coolest MASK of them all. I really loved that they did a Matt Trakker in the GI Joe 25th anniversary line. That was a really cool figure to pick up.

Other Toy Lines / Re: 2009: What Are You Collecting?
« on: December 3, 2009, 10:02 PM »
My collecting is 3 main areas with a few secondary here and there things

1. Minimates (I love these things and have currently 737 different ones)
2. Star Wars (although I have cut back to getting OT, EU, and Figures with lightsabers)
3. Masters of the Universe

I like to get other random things that either are just too cool to pass up, or toys of characters that I love.  I have cut back significantly in the last year mostly as a way of showing my wife that I can control myself ! ;)

I adore the MOTU Classics figures, they are some of the best looking figures ever.  However I despise Digital River who does the CS for the mattycollector.com site. I had problems ordering some of the early figures (despite the fact that I placed orders right when they went on sale) so I ended up having to go to ebay to get those. So to avoid future problems I purchased a subscription that worked ok for the first two figures but then for Scareglow there was a problem that after talking to twelve people and finally getting a supervisor that could do something, was explained as being a problem with their system which had cancelled my subscription so she helped me order one over the phone.  Great! But that wasn't it.  Then checking my bank account I see two charges and find out that they had duplicated my order so now I was getting two. So I called them back to get an RMA and wanted them to pick up the charges for having to ship it back since it wasn't my fault.  They wouldn't do that but they would do a refund without return meaning I can keep the figure and not pay for it. Great! But not really since they only refunded the 20$ for the figure not the charge to ship it to me.  I guess overall getting an additional figure for 9$ is ok but he's not a figure that I want two of. . . .   I hope to all that is holy that next year's subscription works ok because dealing with Digital River CS is the biggest nightmare I have ever had dealing with any company.

I am jazzed about that book as ESB is my favorite movie of all time.  And a foreward by Ridley Scott, very cool.

I personally loved this book. I love Zombie stuff and SW and so putting it together was great.  You know the Empire had to have all kinds of wierd  experiments going on so why not take it in this direction.  I just finished reading World War Z and would recommend that as well to anyone who likes zombie stuff.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Which Star Wars Movie Do You Watch the Most?
« on: September 12, 2009, 11:38 PM »
Empire Strikes Back is my default when I want to watch a SW movie I will pop this one in and watch it and my son really like this one two because of the AT-ATs.   This is also my favorite by far of all of them.  I try and watch all of them at least once every 6-8 months.  Empire to me has the best of every aspect of a movie (ie dialogue, soundtrack, story, cinematography etc).

I long ago decided to let any smaller inconsistencies slide and just be entertained by the story.  I often think to myself how they can keep adding new stories into the years between AOTC and ROTS where they have all the comics, the animated Clone Wars and other books but they all are extremely entertaining and so I just let them be that and let smaller things like this slide. Sorry that I don't have a better answer than that.

I was kind of bummed that there wasn't more new GH stuff on display at SDCC.  I also picked up the new cinema scene with the MAx Rebo and was so very excited because he and Droopy are awesome, but I had all the rest of that set already so I sold them on a local classified.

At the GG booth at SDCC I was most excited to see the animated maquette of Slave Leia with the Salacious Crumb.

I can't wait for this one as the Republic Commando books were just great!  When I finished Order 66 I thought to myself they sure better continue this story cause I will be very angry if it ends here!

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: What's YOUR favorite book?????????
« on: August 6, 2009, 10:02 PM »
That is a difficult question.  As I am just a sucker for all things Star Wars I just eat up everything.  I really love all the Timothy Zahn stuff.

I really liked I, Jedi since Corran is one of my favorite characters.

NJO and LOTF were both really great series too.

I have really enjoyed this series so far, especially the story with Luke and Ben. I have read the Lost Tribe of the Sith e-books too and it helped me enjoy Omen more.  I do think that this being a harcover series is a bummer because I collect all the books in paperback. I have to check the books out of the library and then wait for them to come out in paperback later.  Which I obviously have to do every once in a while with other SW books but a whole series. . .come on that just sucks.

I did meet Aaron Allston at SDCC just barely and he was really cool and nice. Can't wait to read Abyss here soon.

I went to SDCC this year and saw the Tantive IV and can't wait to pick that set up.  I got home and found the TRU exclusive Home One set a few days later and I love that set, especially the A-wing launch function.  Getting an Admiral Ackbar minifig was the best part of it all though.

Wow. . .simply a beautiful collection.  I just found this forum and came to the collection thread first to check out what I am up against and your collection stands out.  Those shelves are amazing I don't have a great setup yet so I am simply envious.
