As reported by Jesse on the front page, Mel Brooks is working on a sequel to Spaceballs the movie. 8)
Yogurt to return with SPACEBALLS 2? (http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=18513)
Spaceballs II: Jar-Jar Strikes Back (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/552/552814p1.html)
This movie still makes me laugh. Who can forget Dark Helmet, Lone Star, Princess Vespa, Yogurt, Pizza The Hut & Barfolemew "Barf the Mog". I still miss John Candy! :'(
This is a great opportunity for Mel Brooks to pull out all the gags in the SW series.
So whats you best scene or line?
Mine:
I'm a mog! Half-man, half-dog! I'm my own best friend!
Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. Spaceballs the T-shirt. Spaceballs the lunchbox. Spaceballs the coloring book. Spaceballs... the flame thrower! Kids love it. And my favorite, Spaceballs the Doll -- me!
So true! I hit the floor on that line! ;D ;)
May the Schwartz be with you! (http://www.ladyofthecake.com/mel/space/sbimages.htm)

Oh ****, there goes the planet!

"I see your schwartz is as big as mine."
Honestly, I'd be more excited if Mel Brooks had come close to a decent movie since, well, Spaceballs. Everything since then has been absolute garbage. We're talking 20 years of unfunniness. :(
Maybe he can pull a miracle and get back on track.

If he doesn't have any material to spoof off of the Prequels... then he's a lost cause.

Spaceballs the lunchbox
Spaceballs the toilet paper
Spaceballs the flamethrower oooooooooohhhhhhhh
Whats that coming out of her nose?
Spaceballs
Oh great there goes the planet
Colonel Sanders cracked me up too.

I personally cannot wait. It needs to be called the Search for more Money.
-
Say goodbye to your two best friends. And I don't mean those fools in the Winnebago.
I knew it, I'm surrounded by a**holes!
There are so many funny lines in that movie. I would love to see a funny sequel.
-
Um, Young Frankenstein was funny... :-\
-
Well I'm sure Mel will come up with some good stuff. There is just too much material for him to sink his teeth into.
-
Any new info?

" Well I'm sure Mel will come up with some good stuff. There is just too much material for him to sink his teeth into."
All he need do is re-release TPM with the title "SpaceBalls: The Search for More Money". I laughed through it the first time, and I'll do so again. ;)

Weird, but true it seems, and ya know I think it has a huge potential since more adult-oriented cartoons have become quite popular. Like Family Guy and other shows like that... I could see this being a huge hit.
I'm actually anxious about what it may be like... May give a reason to watch cartoons for me. :)

SPACEBALLS, The CARTOON !
Yikes... That makes me wince. I'll just wait for the Complete Series DVD that features all 6 episodes that were aired and the 6 episodes that went unaired after cancellation.
Digital Bits also confirmed the SE DVD of the movie:
First up, as we reported in The Rumor Mill last week, the studio will release its 2-disc Spaceballs: Collector's Edition on 5/3 (SRP 29.98). The DVD will include the film in anamorphic widescreen video (1.85:1), with audio in BOTH Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 - no kidding. Extras will include feature-length audio commentary with Mel Brooks, "film flubs," the 30-minute Spaceballs: The Documentary, 3 featurettes (John Candy: Comic Spirit, In Conversation: Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and Storyboards to Film), "Spacequotes", galleries of behind-the-scenes stills, costume photos and production artwork, and the film's exhibitor and theatrical trailers.
